Improve Your Mood Through Food!

Your choices of foods do make a difference in regulating your brain chemistry.  If you know the right foods to pick during a stressful day, you can help yourself fight that anxiety and the depression that come with it better.

These specific foods have ingredients known to help improve your mood.  Try eating more oranges, lemons and other citrus fruits because the vitamin C can help.  Nuts are another food you should reach for due to the vitamin E, arginine (an amino acid) and magnesium.  Leafy green vegetables are excellent because they're loaded with folic acid.  Salmon has DHA (an omega-3 fatty acid).  Dried cherries are a great source of potassium, magnesium and vitamin C.

Something as simple as food can make that needed difference.  So why not try it the next time you're having a bad day?

You forgot chocolate lol ;-)

Seriously, oranges and grapefruits do have a cheerful sort of scent and colour as well as being full of vitamin C.

You're right about chocolate! The only problem is it might be hard to buy around Easter with what's going on in Africa. Did you hear anything about that?
Thanks for writing, Fiona.
