Monave Mineral Makeup BIG Holiday Gift Assortment Review and Giveaway ($104)!--Ends December 10, 2012

  

I have used many  wonderful cosmetics and skin care items from award-winning, Monave Mineral Makeup  with gorgeous results.  Now I'm pleased to share more of my beautiful discoveries with you from the products I selected for this holiday review and huge giveaway. 

The first product I sampled was the Rose Daily Moisture Cream (vegan).  Besides having a lovely scent, this moisturizer had a great consistency and didn't make me greasy.  It felt very nice and was a wonderful base before foundation.

One of the kindest things you can do for your skin is to treat it to mineral makeup. Though, it can be difficult to find the right shades online to match your skin tone.   However, Monave makes it easier with their sample stack of foundation with four containers of related shades.  I chose the Light Mineral Foundation Sample Pack (sample 01) with Claire, Kerrie, Paula, and Ashlie.

Without even trying it on, I knew Ashlie was entirely too pale for me.   Kerrie was light when I dusted some on with the Flat Top Brush I also got, and found this color was pinker than my normal shades.  Paula was not too bad as far as beige went only a tad bit light.  However, Claire was slightly darker in beige than Paula with some pink and was the best match for me.  

Before my new Flat Top Brush, I had a kabuki brush for sweeping on mineral foundation.  Yet, I really think the broader flat surface of the brush top is much better for grabbing onto the foundation than the smaller kabuki. 

Another thing I loved was how Monave's brushes come in a plastic envelope type of case for easy storage in your cosmetics case or handbag.

I chose a bronzer in Rum #302.  This delivered a healthy dose of tan, but I had to be careful since this was a medium shade of bronzer.  Therefore, I applied sparingly to avoid having too much of an orange glow.  Of course to make application a breeze, I tried my new Monave Blush Brush, which worked like a dream for a smooth, flawless application of just enough warm sunny color.

Over the tops of my cheekbones, I dusted on Illuminizer Glisten #401.  This product was like applying soft pink light to better define the facial structure of your cheeks.  This looked especially nice when I wore it with a mauve or plum blush.

Eyes were the next place I concentrated on.  I chose three shades of matte eye shadows  in Ultra Matte Tierra Medium #111, (golden brown on the right ), Ultra Matte Tierra Dark #112, (cocoa-brown in the middle below)  and Ultra Matte Medium Moss #114 (on the left in the below photo).  These shadows are sheerer than they appear in the pots and worked beautifully to create an interesting smoky eye.  

I used the Medium Moss #114 on the lids, Tierra Dark #112 in the crease, and then applied the Tierra Medium #111 as the highlight shade.  After you feather those colors together and smoke it out, your eyes have a subdued aura of mystery.  

If you want to change that look a bit, I found switching the Tierra Dark as the lid color and then dusted some Tierra Medium and blended from the crease to the brow bone also looked great.

I also selected one of their shimmering eye shadows with Versatile Eye Shadow Khaki #42.  This is a very striking shade of a toned down olive that I thought was so attractive.

In the next photo, starting closest to my wrist and working down my arm is Medium Tierra #111, Dark Tierra #112, Medium Moss #114 ending with Versatile Khaki #42.

As to lips, I went with a tube of Monave's Glossy Lipstick, but it was a hard choice deciding among all of their excellent lipsticks and glosses that I adore with a passion.  Nonetheless, I finally settled on Kasha #221 this time.  This color looked fairly brown in the tube when it arrived but turned into a sheerer peach-brown shade once applied for a becoming natural look.
