Whitening Lightning's Color Your Smile Lip Gloss Line.jpeg
Whitening Lightning's Color Your Smile Lip Gloss Line

Today, I want to tell you about the most unique line of lip gloss ever.  Although the colors are stunning and they moisture just as magnificently as others that I have used, these have something special to offer you.  Whitening Lightning's Color Your Smile Lip Gloss is made with its own built-in light.

Perhaps, you think I'm talking about extra glistening power packed into the formula.  Of course, these lip glosses have a beautiful shimmer to set them off.  However, this is not the light I am referring to.  Instead, you need to focus under the cap.

Once you lift the lid, you find this handy beam of LED light.  Turn the tube along the side and you find a mirror. Both are so convenient for throwing in your handbag when venturing out at night.  What could be more frustrating than attempting to apply lip gloss in a dimly lit car or at clubs?

Those doubters that think the amount of LED light emitted from a tube of lip gloss produced could not amount to much are wrong.  I tested a tube entirely in the dark just to see how much light came through and found it provided enough for me to see my reflection in that side mirror and apply without any problem.

The trio in this collection sent to me for this review and giveaway make up  a gorgeous medium pink (Icicle), a nude with peach tones (Crystal), and a deeper red-coral  (Jewel).

The formula has a wonderful feel against your lips instead of being too thick or overly sticky.  I also want to add that this lip gloss stays put and doesn't seem to feather or magically appear on your front teeth as some.  Best of all, I loved how much shine this lip gloss threw off and the plumping effect you can achieve with fuller, sexy lips due to collagen peptides.

Color Your Smile Lip Gloss retails for $38 each or $99 for the trio.

Currently, there is a fantastic promotion going on where you can get 50% off any purchase when you enter the code, NUTS450, at checkout on Whitening Lightning's website.

Now there's nothing stopping you from looking your best--not even thin lips or insufficient light to apply that lip gloss!

Thanks to Whitening Lightning, one lucky Nuts 4 Stuff reader in the United States or Canada wins the trio of Whitening Lightning's Color Your Smile Lip Gloss in Crystal, Icicle, and Jewel for a total value of $99!

Fragrance to Soothe Your Soul! Thymes Azur Body Water Review

**Disclaimer:  This post has been compensated through a free product (s) or monetary payment.  Opinions are solely mine. All links are "no-follow" links.**

Thymes Azur Body Water.jpeg
Thymes Azur Body Water

Are you the type mainly attracted to breezy ocean fragrances?  If so, then Thymes Azur Body Water may just fit the bill to carry you off from the rigors of your day. With its special restorative blend of scientifically formulated ingredients of sea herbs, minerals, and vitamins, this light marine fragrance might be your ticket to a relaxing ocean voyage from the comfort of your home.

Unlike Naia Cologne, another reviving marine type scent that I had previously reviewed from the creative Minneapolis collective known as Thymes, the Azur Body Water has less of a floral influence.   Due to the white tea to dilute the water lily and jasmine, this beautiful fragrance also has a watery floral delicateness but only with a hint of those flowers.  However, once the crisp bergamot and influx of green from herbs emerge, this scent becomes even fresher somehow than the Naia.

When you detect those notes of amber, vanilla, and musk, this fragrance leaves you with a comforting peacefulness to those watery notes, almost like you are inhaling the combined essences of nature's flowers, green  grasses, and musk, drifting in from the sea.  This has a clean and calming quality that does seem to help put you in a better state of mind.

I highly recommend the Azur fragrance line to anyone that is looking for a soft marine scent that is easy to wear while being clean and so refreshing.  Such gentleness in this watery floral is especially wonderful to wear to work without being intrusive and overpowering to others.  At the same time, this may be just the prescription for staying grounded and relaxed throughout normal stresses of  your day.

NYC New York Color Individual Eyes Custom Compact (#941 Smokey Browns, #942 Smokey Blues) Review--Photos--Swatches!

**Disclaimer:  This post has been compensated through a free product (s) or monetary payment.  Opinions are solely mine. All links are "no-follow" links.**

NYC New York Color Individual Eyes Custom Compact #942.jpeg
#942 Smoky Blues

An undeniable aura of mystery is what I find so sexy about the look of smoky eyes.  Yet, pulling off that effect can take some doing unless you have the right shades of shadows and technique to do the trick.  I received two  NYC New York Color Individual Eyes Custom Compacts in  #941 Smokey Browns and #942 Smokey Blues that just simplify the task.

Although I do not have blue eyes as #942 Smokey Blues are intended for, but dark brown, these basic colors were striking on me and would probably work beautifully for all.  The deepest shade is a dark plum along with a medium brown and a lighter beige-brown and a golden-apricot highlight.

Below is a photo of #942 Smokey Blues.  I also swatched the shades.  Starting on the right, the dark plum is nearest my wrist, then medium warm brown, beige-brown, and ending with the golden-apricot.

Here are swatches of #942 Smoky Blues

#941 Smokey Browns is another pretty palette of gray-taupe shadows that is basic and quite versatile to compliment practically all eye colors with its beauty.  The darkest color is a soft shimmering charcoal black, medium brown-purple, medium beige-brown, and a silver highlight.

Next, I  am holding #941 Smokey Browns for you below and swatched the shades.  Closest to my wrist and working down my arm is the charcoal color, brown-plum, beige-brown, and ending with the silver.

These compacts also come with a primer and illuminator to use over the highlight color.  In addition, you still get an applicator, which many companies have been skimping out on these days.

Furthermore, the shadows themselves go on smoothly, blend nicely, and last for hours.  You can expect at least five hours without problems.

Another thing I want to mention is these are wonderful and matte for daytime.  However, if you want more than a subtle shimmer, you can wet the applicator and it will give it more of that smoldering gleam you might be after for evening.

Best of all, these two NYC New York Color Individual Eyes Custom Compacts were so affordable at $4.99 each.  If you need some new dazzling smoky shadows, I suggest you visit your drugstore and pick up both.

Harvey Prince Natural Perfumes Eau Flirt 3.4 Oz. Perfume & Soap Review + ($252) Giveaway! (2 Winners)--Ends February 15, 2013

Harvey Prince Flirt Eau de Toilette and Soap.jpeg
Harvey Prince Eau Flirt Eau de Toilette and Soap

Harvey Prince Natural Perfumes happens to be tops in my book for their fabulous line of fragrances formulated with specific purposes for each.  Though I adore every scent that I have sampled from this company, I am particularly in love with their first fragrance, Eau Flirt.  This one is what I consider the man magnet for its superpowers in drawing male attention your way.

Therefore, in hopes of making a love connection this Valentine's Day, the company was gracious enough to sponsor this giveaway where two win a set of their own Eau Flirt 3.4 oz. Eau de Toilette and luxurious Eau Flirt Soap to pamper skin with a veil of that enticing scented moisture.

Ladies, I must warn you first that Eau Flirt is serious male bait.  Notes of pumpkin pie,  sweet lavender, citrus, jasmine, freesia, ylang ylang, and delicately spiced with nutmeg, cinnamon, and ambers for subtle warmth turn this alluring fruity-floral fragrance into a stimulating blend that drives men crazy.

The scent has males within your vicinity soon swarming in your direction like bees to flowers once you're in their range.  Now that my conscience is clear as to what may happen when wearing Eau Flirt, I hope you pick up this fragrance to spark up your Valentine's Day.  However, use with caution because it does work!

Purex Crystals for Baby Review + WIN $1,000 or One of 250 FREE Products!

**Disclaimer:  This post has been compensated through a free product (s) or monetary payment.  Opinions are solely mine. All links are "no-follow" links.**

Purex Crystals for Baby.jpeg
Purex Crystals for Baby

Babies aren't the only ones with sensitivity issues and delicate noses.   Some detergents and fabric softeners are less than gentle when it comes to skin.   Needless to say, I never had problems with any formula of Purex as I occasionally had with other brands.  Therefore, I looked forward to giving my laundry an added bit of baby-safe freshness with Purex Crystals for Baby since this company's formulations have gained my trust.

Along with the Purex Baby detergent, I added the 87% natural Purex Crystals for Baby at the start of my wash.  Unlike other fabric softeners that can build up in clothing fibers, the crystals in this formula do not linger and pose a  potential fire hazard, which gives you peace of mind especially when it comes to children's sleepwear.

This softener is hypo-allergenic and free of dyes and strong fragrance.  Instead, you will find the scent pleasant and light plus the fabrics are soft enough to cuddle when you hold them close.

According to the advertising, these crystals infuse into the fabric and keep that beautiful smell for a lot longer like weeks.  Since I just received this  product a few days ago and only had a chance to do a few loads, I hardly had time to put that claim to the test.

However, I did wash my blankets and am looking forward to putting them to a timely sniff test later.  But for now, I can tell you that they smell beautiful when I was folding them.

Purex Crystals for Baby will be available for sale in the fabric softeners section at Walmart in early February.

Be sure to enter the Purex $1,000 Welcome to the World Sweepstakes and you could possibly win $1000 or be one of 250 winners to win a free product!

*Disclaimer:   Purex provided a free product in exchange for my honest opinion in this review.*

Recipe: Reinvent Leftovers With My Delicious Dinner Crepes!

The recipe that I have for you today is definitely a fancy main course that takes leftovers and transforms them into the ultimate weekend dinner indulgence with my dinner crepes.

Imagine a delicate textured pancake wrapped around browned chopped onions and fresh mushrooms in a creamy cheese sauce along with leftover chicken, turkey or ham.  Top those filled crepes with more cheese sauce before taking out of your oven and what you get is out of this world delicious meal enjoyment.

Though my dinner crepes take a bit of extra effort and time, they are well worth the trouble.  All I ask is for you to try them once and taste them for yourself.  Trust me, no one will ever know they are eating leftovers once you serve this.  This will be our little secret!

Dinner Crepes Nuts Style!

Crepes:

2-1/4 cups sifted  flour
3/4 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
3 cups of milk
3 eggs
2 tablespoons canola oil or a melted margarine (not spread)

Filling:

4 tablespoons of margarine (not spread) or canola oil
2 medium onions, chopped
6 tablespoons of flour
3 cups of milk
1 teaspoon of salt
1/4 teaspoon of bottled hot red pepper sauce
1 cup of shredded cheese (Swiss, American or Brick)
2 cups of fresh mushrooms, chopped
2 cups of leftover chicken (ham, turkey, beef)
3 tablespoons margarine (not spread) or canola oil

To Prepare the Crepe Batter:

Mix flour, salt, and baking powder together in a large mixing bowl.

Stir in the milk, eggs, and melted margarine or oil.

Beat with an electric mixer or by hand with a whisk until smooth.

For each crepe, lightly brush an eight-inch skillet with that melted margarine or oil; heat over medium heat until bubbly before pouring 1/4 cup of batter into the skillet.  Tilt the skillet until the batter covers the bottom.

Cook the crepe until the top is somewhat dry, then turn over and cook the bottom until lightly brown.

If you plan to do these crepe ahead of time, place waxed paper between each one.  You can keep them for two days in your refrigerator and no longer than three months in your freezer.

To Prepare the Filling:

Saute onions in the  four tablespoons of margarine until tender but not brown.

Mix in the tablespoons of flour and cook about one minute, stirring constantly.

Then gradually add the milk and cook until the mixture thickens.

Remove from the heat and add the salt, red pepper sauce and cheese.  (You can add any spices and herbs to change along with the meats you use, if desired.  However, I don't feel it is necessary for this recipe.)

Reserve 1/2 cup of this sauce for the topping.

Fry the mushrooms in the three remaining tablespoons of margarine or oil until lightly browned.  Add this to the cheese sauce as well as the leftover chicken or the meat you want to clean out of your refrigerator.

To Assemble The Crepes:

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

Place 1/4 cup of filling into each crepe.

Roll the crepe around the filling and place in a greased, shallow baking dish.

Bake the crepes, covered with aluminum foil, for thirty minutes.  Then uncover and place the remaining cheese sauce over the crepes and place under the broiler for three minutes until lightly browned.

This serves six.

ENJOY!

Umberto Beverly Hills Volumizer Thickening Hairspray Review

**Disclaimer:  This post has been compensated through a free product (s) or monetary payment.  Opinions are solely mine. All links are "no-follow" links.**

Umberto Beverly Hills Volumizer Thickening Hairspray.jpeg
Umberto Beverly Hills Volumizer Thickening Hairspray

I was originally introduced to Umberto Beverly Hills when I received their Volume Boosting Foam for review, which I really liked for the extra holding power it gave along with plumping up my layers.   Today, I want to give you my take on another salon-inspired product, the Volumizer Thickening Hairspray from the noted Beverly Hills stylist, Umberto.

Before I even tested it, I liked that this was a non-aerosol product that will not add to environmental problems or have the tendency to clog like many aerosol hairsprays. These are why I am particularly fond of this form.

Umberto Beverly Hills Volumizer Thickening Hairspray will not weigh your hair down with sticky residue or harden your hair like a helmet.  This is more of a light flexible hold  spray that left my hair soft with movement and extra shine.

I used this product on dry hair to finish my style.  This spray can be used on wet hair before blow-drying to build volume as well.   My preference is using the Volume Boosting Foam first on slightly damp, freshly shampooed hair for how it works on my layered wavy, thick hair and following after drying with the Volumizer Thickening Hairspray.

Honestly, I encourage anyone with layers in their hair to add volumizing products to their routine for how they can lift and bring out beautiful, full curls.   You will be surprised at the striking difference they can do for you too.

Learn more about Umberto Beverly Hills professional hair care line at their website.

Umberto Beverly Hills products are sold at Target.  The Volumizer Thickening Hairspray retails for $8.99 and the Volume Boosting Foam is $9.99.

Like Kindling to A Burning Fire! Beyonce's Heat Perfume Spray Review

**Disclaimer:  This post has been compensated through a free product (s) or monetary payment.  Opinions are solely mine. All links are "no-follow" links.**

Beyonce's Heat Perfume ad.jpeg
Beyonce's Heat Perfume

Though I am familiar with several of the other fragrances from Beyonce for Coty Beauty, I had never tried her first scent of Heat that launched in 2010.  Working with the house of Givaudan perfumers, Claude Dir and Olivier Gillotin, this is the wildly successful sexy,  fruity-floral fragrance that started it all and later branched into new additions to the Heat line.

From the advertising campaign, I had expected a heavier oriental scent.  However, I was totally surprised because this is a complex blend that does not bombard your senses with any overdose of woods and spice.  Instead, you are slowly enticed through lighter notes of fruit and floral that eventually meets the intriguing warmth brewing in the base from flaming woods and amber.

Heat Eau de Parfum opens with red vanilla-orchid, magnolia, neroli and peach that pleasantly dilutes that sweetness.  A lushness of floral beauty  surrounds you like stepping into an exotic garden and inhaling after summer rain has hit the ground.

Just as if the dew on those flowers and fruit have lifted, the heart is romantic with notes of honeysuckle and  almond, gradually warming as well like the sun evaporating that moisture once the creamy musk emerges.

The kindling warmth inevitably catches fire in the base due to sequoia wood, tonka and amber.  The effect is  taunting smokiness that is demurely sexy at the same time.

Heat is ladylike and but full of passion without jumping all over you.  This feeling is what I loved most about it.  The warmth is controlled in this fragrance that gives it that exceptional elegance to the sensuality it possesses.   My suggestion is experience this scent from Beyonce Parfums because it compelling.

Nuance Cosmetics by Salma Hayek Review + ($105) Giveaway!--Ends February 11, 2013

**Disclaimer:  This post has been compensated through a free product (s) or monetary payment.  Opinions are solely mine. All links are "no-follow" links.**

Six Nuance Cosmetics.jpeg
Nuance Cosmetics by Salma Hayek

Glamorous, Salma Hayek, is recognized for her stunning beauty as well as her acting talent and involvement in social activism.  Now she is sharing her grandmother's beauty secrets with the public in her line of Nuance Cosmetics by Salma Hayek that are sold exclusively at CVS.

Until I was sent nine cosmetics inspired by the star's glowing 2012 Golden Globe look for this review and giveaway, I had never used the brand before.  Though after experimenting with these products, I am excited about the high-end quality of what I tried so far and am eager to share my latest discoveries with YOU!

The Smooth Skin Primer really sealed the surface of my complexion to prep it before makeup.  With this product, my foundation went on smoother and appeared flawless.  No makeup settled into the gullies of my pores that can often happen when you skip priming.   Even facial lines seem to be less obvious with this product prior to foundation.  Beneficial ingredients like white lupin seeds and sunflower seed oil to encourage collagen production, vitamin E and pumpkin seedcake for toning and improving skin's radiance among others could be the reason this $11.99 miracle works as well as it does.

The Nuance Salma Hayek Flawless Finish Liquid Foundation (Light Cool 272) was natural looking and gave me velvety lasting coverage throughout the day.   Despite my yellow undertones, this neutral shade was hardly too pink for me.  This formula had apple and lentil extracts, which seemed to hydrate skin exceptionally well for a look of freshness without any greasiness.

To set that foundation, I received the Translucent Finish Powder (Light/Medium 310).  This finely milled powder is healthier for your complexion since it has rice starch instead of talc.  Furthermore, the color itself was not too orange or too yellow to overpower the foundation, but a lovely sheer beige.  Something that I want to pass on is to apply the powder first with a cotton ball, dabbing to press into skin to cover before dusting off the excess with a powder brush.  This keeps your makeup fresher longer.

Flawless Coverage Mineral Foundation (Light/Medium 225) was also sent out.  Though this wasn't the lightest shade, I thought the color was a good match.  I tried this powder paired with the Smooth Skin Primer on my dry skin and it gave me pretty results.  Its lightweight pigments never caked and left me with a natural finish.   However, this foundation with its mineral clays can double up as a finishing powder also.  Those with an oily complexion would probably do well with its oil minimizing power.

Next came Flawless Mineral Cheek Trio (Apricot).  This has exquisite pigmentation as well as three products in one compact with a matte bronzer, warm peach-pink natural blush, and highlighter.  Target a section alone or blend together.  Cheeks light up with a beam of what you could pass off as true healthy radiance.
Nuance Eyeliner and Mascara.jpeg
Nuance Eyeliner and Mascara

I got to sample the Lasting Wear Eyeliner (Black 030).  This is a winner in my book.  I found it glides along your lids without tugging against delicate skin and was gentle enough for allergy prone eyes like mine.  What else I really loved was this liner had plenty of pigmentation to get a thick or thin line plus the fact it didn't seem to smudge for hours.

Though I could hardly imagine coming close to having smoky eyes like Salma's, I can tell you that the Nuance Smokey Eye Quad 0075 can certainly ring your eyes with similar haunting shades to dazzle with.  The compact itself was uniquely designed like a flower.  Four sides opened like petals to reveal the darkest matte charcoal, smoky dark green with a soft gleam, pink-silver, and a lovely medium teal green with luster.  This vitamin E enriched shadow has a velvety-texture that adheres beautifully and blends like a dream for a simpler way to smoke them out.

Nuance Smoky Eye Quad.jpeg

I swatched all four shades of the Smokey Eye Quad in the photo below for you.  Sorry but the palest one was hard to capture.

Full Effect Ultra-Volumizing  Mascara (Black 050) pumped up my lashes without clumping.  Surprisingly, this volumizing mascara lengthened my lashes even more and came equipped with a brush with nicely spaced bristles that were up to the task.  Vitamins A, C, and E condition while nourishing ingredients like Meadowfoam, chamomile, and sweet almond oil leave your lashes feeling soft.

I received a Color Vibrance Lipstick in Coral 135 and modeled it in the below photo.  This is a luxurious feeling, ultra soothing vitamin E treatment and highly pigmented lipstick in one.  This is a creamy but cool peach-pink without any shimmer that stays put for at least four hours without needing to reapply.

Here I am modeling Color Vibrance Lipstick in Coral 135.

I really was impressed and also disappointed that I had never tried Nuance Cosmetics before this.  Nonetheless, I am now on to their CVS collection and plan to explore further into their other shades and cosmetics as well as skin and hair care!   I highly recommend looking into Nuance Cosmetics by Salma Hayek for yourself as well because you will be glad you did.

Thanks to Nuance Cosmetics by Salma Hayek, one lucky Nuts 4 Stuff reader in the United States wins all nine products:  Color Vibrance Lipstick in Coral 135, Smooth Skin Primer, Flawless Finish Liquid Foundation (in the color of your choice), Flawless Coverage Mineral Foundation (in the color of your choice), Translucent Finish Powder (your choice of color), Flawless Finish Cheek Trio (Apricot), Eye Quad in Smokey 0075, Lasting Wear  Eyeliner (Black 030), and Full Effect Ultra-Volumizing Mascara (Black 050) for a total value of $105!

Finding the best foundation can take some doing, depending on your skin type, coloring, and budget.  While some formulas can satisfy one or even two of those basic needs on that road to beautiful coverage, they often can lack all the qualities you want for an amazing foundation.  Luckily for me, I got acquainted with Rimmel London's Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation.

To my good fortune, I was sent two tubes to review.  #100 Ivory is the lightest beige shade in this line and the one that matched my light warm skin ideally.  On the other hand, #111 Natural Ivory, is darker and heavier on the pink tones.

#100 Ivory is on the left in the photo with #111 Natural Ivory on the right.

Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundations

The first thing I noticed is the wonderful consistency of this foundation with its mineral complex formula.  This product is creamy and yet thick enough to spread for blending as well as layering for heavier coverage.  It also lasted exceptionally well.  When I applied it around 8:00 A.M., this foundation was still holding its own until I later returned home around 6:00 P.M. without breaking down.

Applying one coat gives you  reliable medium  coverage that can adhere nicely to your face for hours and not the things you touch.  However, if you need to hide any small problems, you will like how buildable this formula is for layering without caking to draw attention to those flaws.

I am looking forward to seeing how this foundation holds up to intense summer humidity. With what I'm seeing now, then I don't think it will cause any disappointment.

What is there not to like about this one?  Have you tried Rimmel London Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation yet?

If you want beautiful color that lasts without dropping down a wad of cash, then NYC New York Color Ultra Last Lip Colors are the way to go!  Some great choices are #403 Rose Petal (left in the photo below), #410 Plum Rum (middle), and #408 Sherry Sparkle (rightthat I received for this review.

#408 Sherry Sparkle is the every day rosy plum shade with a subtle shimmer to crank it up just a bit when you want something ideally suited for the workplace.  The color is not too dark or light, but I imagine would look wonderful with all skin tones.   Pair this particular color with smoky eyes for a gorgeous effect for how it pulls everything together just so.

Here is #408 Sherry Sparkle that I am wearing.

#410 Plum Rum is another versatile winning shade when you're hunting for a basic plum-brown.   Check out me wearing it below.

#403 Rose Petal is deeper medium pink with berry tones for something bolder.

What do you think of me in #403 Rose Petal in the following photo?

Starting closest to my wrist is #408 Sherry Sparkle with #403 Rose Petal in the middle and ending with #410 Plum Rum.

What I like about this particular NYC New York Color line of Ultra Last lipsticks is the pigmentation is wonderful.  You will also like how moisturized your lips will feel wearing these lipsticks.  The fact they stay on your mouth and don't bleed and how long they wear (about four hours is a reasonable estimate) is another reason I think these drugstore lippies are beauty bargains at $1.99 each!
