Elizabeth W Perfumes and Tea Rose Eau de Parfum Review + Giveaway!--Ends November 22, 2011

Elizabeth W is a small workshop perfumery, designing and handcrafting their own natural perfumes, bath and body care, hand care, and fragrances for the home based in San Francisco.  I had the opportunity to work with them for this review and giveaway.

Inspired by nature, the seven scents that I received are each a sophisticated blend based around a single note.

Citrus Verbena is fresh with grapefruit, mandarian, and lemons balanced with green notes.

Lavender is a calming melody with herbs and woods.

Leaves is an utterly breathtaking mixture of soft woods combined with amber and top notes of green leaves.

Magnolia is overflowing with magnolia petals, saffron and sandalwood with mimosa and gardenia to make it more irresistible.

Vetiver is earthy with citrus and green from the bergamot.

Sweet Tea will tempt you with oriental black teas, lemons, and almond honey.

Lilac, Neroli Chamomile, and Tuberose are also in their collection, but I can not tell you more without experiencing them personally.

Elizabeth W's version of Tea Rose, the last Purse Eau de Parfum in the lineup, takes the traditional tea rose perfume out of the garden and into the wilds of nature with moist green notes, wild roses, forest berries, and hawthorn.  This is a haunting melody of sweet rose that will bewitch you as you lose yourself to this captivating perfume.  Because I fell in love so deeply with this particular Elizabeth W, I chose Tea Rose as the Purse Eau de Parfum as my choice for the giveaway.

Truthfully, I thought these perfumes were exquisite.  Since I'm a huge floral fanatic, Tea Rose and Magnolia were the biggest hits with me, followed by Leaves.

On the same note, any of these perfumes, from the floral I adore, to the more refreshing citrus and herbals blends would make great gifts when you're preparing your Christmas list or to suit your changing moods.   If Santa is listening, I would love to find Magnolia and Leaves under my tree!

*Disclaimer:  This is my own honest opinion.  No money was exchanged.  All I received were free products to facilitate this review.*

Thanks to Elizabeth W Perfumes, one lucky Nuts 4 Stuff reader in the United States or Canada wins a 1/2  fl. oz. of Tea Rose Eau de Parfum Spray ($24 value)!

Need to Puff Up Goose Down Pillows or Jackets?

The one thing I hate about goose down comforters, pillows, or jackets are how those feathers seem to eventually bunch up in one spot.  However, I found a great little trick that helps get those problem feathers back where they belong!

The next time you notice your goose down is landing in one spot, then throw that item in your washer and use cold water for that load.

Now when it's time to take it to the dryer, you need to throw in three fresh tennis balls with that goose dump item.  These clean tennis balls will do the work of what all your pulling and pushing hands can't ever seem to accomplish getting those tricky feathers back in shape.

Trust me, but you will love how just a few new tennis balls will help fix that frustrating problem!

Kō Denmark Organic Jasmine + Neroli Roll-On Perfume Review and Giveaway! (5 Winners)--Ends November 21, 2011

**Disclaimer:  This post has been compensated through a free product (s) or monetary payment.  Opinions are solely mine. All links are "no-follow" links.**

Kō Denmark Organic Jasmine + Neroli Roll-On Perfume.jpeg
Kō Denmark Organic Jasmine + Neroli Roll-On Perfume
Imagine wearing a perfume so precious that centuries before only the aristocrats could afford the two highly coveted flower oils of jasmine and neroli, but Kō Denmark uses both in their pure Organic Jasmine + Neroli Roll-On Perfume that I recently was sent to review and giveaway.

Once you open the cap, you will never be the same as you smell the intoxicating fresh floral beauty awakened by citrus that is  released from this small rollerball.  The scent is addictive and will spoil you as the jasmine, neroli, with hints of rose and ylang ylang takes over your senses.  You will feel more elegant, irresistibly privileged, and utterly confident like royalty as well wearing this perfume.

For this magic to happen, it takes nearly a ton of  jasmine and neroli flowers to produce one ounce of those rare flower oils, which are five times more expensive than silver at $95 an ounce! Yet, Henrietta Holst, the Danish born founder of Kō  Denmark cares about using the purest natural and fresh fragrant ingredients for this luxurious perfume.

Uncomplicated, this perfume has organic grape alcohol, Indian jasmine grandiflorum absolute, and Tunisian neroli essential oil without any harsh artificial addictives, artificial colors, or animal ingredients to disturb its integrity.

After all, Holst spent two years researching essential oils before consulting an aromatherapist, then a chemist before designing the packaging and turning out her incredible organic products, which also include a skin nourishing body lotion and body wash.

Like the precious flowers of this perfume's formula, Kō  Denmark Organic Jasmine + Neroli Roll-On Perfume will set you apart from the masses.  I would love to get an entire collection for myself.  In my opinion, this fragrance speaks to your heart and soul and would make a truly thoughtful Christmas gift!

You can buy online or find locations where to purchase here.

*Disclaimer:  This is my own honest opinion.  No money was exchanged.  All I received was a free product to facilitate this review.*

Headline Shirts Review and T-Shirt Giveaway!--Ends November 19, 2011

Disclaimer:  This is my own honest opinion.  No money was exchanged.  All I received was a free product to facilitate this review.*

Squirrels, squirrels, squirrels T-shir.jpeg
This shirt was fitting for Nuts 4 Stuff.

I was approached by a San Francisco clothing company called Headline Shirts to do this review and giveaway.  You heard the statement life imitates art.  Since 2004, they have taken themes in the news and pop culture to turn out fun T-shirts that reflect the world we live in with humor and wild imagination.

They have an awesome collection of T-shirts and hoodies for men and women to attract attention, bring out a chuckle, or poke fun at life.

For this review and giveaway, I thought it would be appropriate since my blog is Nuts 4 Stuff to get my guy the Squirrels, Squirrels, Squirrels T-shirt.

The quality of that T-shirt was very nice in 100% cotton and even arrived in record speed with an extra surprise of a pair of sunglasses so he could look extra cool when sporting my favorite animal.

I just couldn't resist ordering him that particular shirt in black and watching his face when he saw it hanging in the closet.  He laughed so hard, but loved his new comfortable T-shirt.

If you want something fun, perhaps, or you just want to make a statement, I think you need to visit Headline Shirts and check their site out.

They have a deal to save you $5.00 on your order if you sign up for their newsletter.

Thanks to Headline Shirts, one lucky Nuts 4 Stuff reader in the United States wins a free product code (which includes shipping) to select a choice of their favorite T-shirt ($25 value)!

Liz Zorn's Acousticjus Parfums Review and FLAMENCO Perfume Giveaway!--Ends November 18, 2011

*Disclaimer:  This post has been compensated through a free product (s) or monetary payment.  Opinions are solely mine. All links are "no-follow" links.**

Flamenco Perfume.jpeg
Flamenco Stellar Oil Perfume

The idea behind the Acousticjus collection was fun and whimsical scents when Liz Zorn, multi-talented artisan perfumer, originally created those six alcohol-free stellar oil perfumes.  The line was first available in early 2010, but underwent a make over with new packaging and relaunched this fall of 2011 with two new perfumes and in larger sizes as well.

Piquant is a spicy floral gourmand with vanilla and sultry gardenias.  Shameless is a fruity gourmand tempting so sweetly.  Dominion is a rush of orange flowers, lavender, and vetiver to your senses.  I-C-U gives a sensual feeling of leather, woods, moss, tobacco and forbidden pleasure.   Circa 1969 is retro with earthy vanilla patchouli.  Last, is the one I loved most, Flamenco.

Flamenco starts out delicately sweet, softly romantic with red roses like a shy lover's gentle caress.   But beneath the surface, this perfume slowly smolders with untold promises from spicy carnations and teases with tempting tart raspberries, till consumed with passion by sexy amber and musk!  As Liz Zorn intended this is not your grandmother's heavy spicy perfume but a sassy version for the modern woman.

The relaunching of Acousticjus also added two new perfumes.  Pussyfoot is a soft  romantic floral  with lilacs, honeysuckle, and hyacinth.  Bellemia will make you as tempting as the ripe peaches, grapefruit, jasmine, vanilla and musk it contains.

According to Zorn, these scents are "mixed media" fragrances and contain both natural and man-made ingredients.

A Discovery Set with all eight parfums in sample vials (each 0.75ml)  is available for $36. This is a great way to test drive these fabulous scents to figure out which is your favorite for yourself or for gift giving of the full size 8 ml bottle that sells for $42.

Additional products for the holidays include Stellar Creme Parfums, Stellar Lippity Gloss, Stellar Beanie Body Butter, and Stellar Satin Mist.

I am convinced that once you get a whiff of these haunting, long lasting Acousticjus perfumes, then you want one, two, or all eight  like I do for yourself or to pick out for those on your Christmas shopping list.

*Disclaimer:  This is my own honest opinion.  No money was exchanged.  All I received were free products to facilitate this review.*

How to Avoid Being Stung by Banking Fees!

Are you being nibbled away with small fees from the banks?  These are charges you didn't even notice you were paying in some cases often overlooked in your monthly statement.

Oh the poor banks!   They take our money and pay us very little interest, depending on how much you have in your account.  For a checking account or a savings account the banks want US to pay them!  I started noticing my bank charging me $3.00 a month.

I have had a checking and  savings accounts with this bank for years.  So I stopped and asked the manager about it.  She smiled and said, "All the banks are doing this."  Then she explained how I could "avoid the fees."  I could just link my accounts together to end the even bigger fees that were coming.

Then I start wondering if all the banks are REALLY do this.

So I started calling around.  Credit unions have been more Fee Friendly and still offer free checking.  And my bank wants me to change the way I bank online by going online.  One bank actually wants me to use E Statements, or statements I download to my computer.  But if my bank wants to use online banking, then why bank locally?

We live in a big country.  I found a site called Bankrate, which is one of many sites out there that you can use to search for better deals.  I can do business with a bank in Montana as easily as one in Pennsylvania  to avoid fees.

For example, some online banks will actually PAY YOU money just to open an account!

Keep an eye on your statements too.  You should check regularly just in case they try and sneak new fees on you.  In that case,  just can move your money to a new bank.

Perhaps, if the banks start seeing their depositors yanking their money out, they'll start thinking more about customer service.

And when the bank manager asks WHY you're pulling your money out of their bank, just smile and tell her,  "ALL the customers are doing this!"

Wonderful Pistachios Review and Giveaway!--Ends November 10, 2011

*Disclaimer:  This post has been compensated through a free product (s) or monetary payment.  Opinions are solely mine. All links are "no-follow" links.**

Wonderful Pistachios product assortment.jpeg
Wonderful Pistachios product assortment

Snacking and choosing wisely can often be tricky.  However, pistachios are a healthy alternative and a rich source of energy with plenty of nutrients, minerals, antioxidants, and vitamins.    So I  was pleased when Wonderful Pistachios sent me four different varieties of their nuts for this yummy review and giveaway!

My family and I got to try the Garlic & Onion, Chili & Lime, Salt & Pepper and the Roasted & Salted varieties.  Though they all tasted delicious, I preferred the simply Roasted & Salted while my guy claimed the Garlic & Onion,  the rest of my troop munched happily away on Salt & Pepper and Chili & Lime.

I liked how eager the family took to eating flavored pistachios over less than perfect snack alternatives such as greasy chips or a high-fat content sugary treat.  Choosing these more filling nuts with their rich source of monounsaturated fatty acids like oleic acid can even help you lower your bad cholesterol and increase your good cholesterol levels unlike empty calorie snacks.

Furthermore, you'll feel good knowing what a rich source of Vitamin E, B-complex, carotenes, and minerals such as copper and iron that you're serving.  Your family will simply think they are eating anything other than a health food.

All it takes a day for these amazing health benefits and even to keep your skin soft and supple is to eat a mere handful of pistachios!

I really enjoyed these pistachios and found them satisfying and very good!  So the next time, you want to change their less than perfect snacking habit, I suggest trying some of these Wonderful Pistachios.

Thanks to Wonderful Pistachios, one lucky Nuts 4 Stuff reader in the United States or Canada wins the same four bags that I received:  Garlic & Onion (7 oz.), Chili & Lime (7 oz.), Salt & Pepper (7 oz.), and Roasted & Salted (8 oz.).

Redken 5th Avenue All Soft Argan-6 Oil Review

**Disclaimer:  This post has been compensated through a free product (s) or monetary payment.  Opinions are solely mine. All links are "no-follow" links.**

I have tried a lot of amazing hair care miracles from Redken, but I recently was sent a bottle of their new All Soft Argan-6 Oil to review, which is one of the greatest hair repair products that I ever put on my head.

Redken 5th Avenue All Soft Argan-6 Oil.jpeg
Redken 5th Avenue All Soft Argan-6 Oil
This omega-6 enriched oil was truly magnificent in restoring shine, softness, and manageability longer than any typical deep conditioning treatment in my experience.  It turned dry, damaged hair into beautiful hair once again by penetrating the hair shaft itself thoroughly to the cortex to dramatically improve the texture and health of every brittle, lifeless strand.

There are six different ways you can use this product on wet or dry hair.  To protect your hair before blow drying, add a few drops to your styling product to boost shine and keep your hold.

You can also treat your hair with a few drops before shampooing.

On dry hair, you can work in a few drops to help control frizzy hair and dryness after blow drying.  You can even apply some at night to your dry hair before bedtime without worrying it will transfer to your pillow.

However, my favorite way is to apply a few drops after shampooing as a leave-in conditioning treatment.  I happened to use the Argan-6 without supplementing any other conditioner, but you can also combine it to your favorite conditioner or hair mask as a treatment booster to intensify the benefits even more.

What I really noticed was that I treated my hair once and it still is just as shiny and silky soft even a week later without doing it again!  If only computer technology was somehow more advanced to feel how incredibly soft my hair feels right now, I would grant you access to my head for a feel because it has an unbelievable softness and the prettiest luster ever!

With all seriousness, you owe it to yourself to try Redken's All Soft Argan-6 Oil.  Trust me, you will just love touching your hair or better yet, your guy will!

Who doesn't like to save money especially in this sluggish economy?  Those hard-earned dollars need to go further with prices constantly rising.  However, I discovered a site to help stretch your budget on the purchases you need so you have more bang for your buck!

When I was contacted by one of the fastest growing online coupon sites, Coupon Chief, I was curious about how this company worked.  So I visited their site and discovered one of the largest coupon databases for online coupons and store discounts on the web.

To navigate their site, they even have an online video to show you how it works

With a tremendous selection of more than 50,000 discount codes for some 150,000 stores, you can find deals for apparel, home, sports, shoes, jewelry, electronics, travels, entertainment, food, toys, and so much more.  You can search any of those tags by typing in what you're looking for in the search box located at the top of the page to see what discount codes are available for that item.

Another way to hunt is by typing in a store name in the search box and see if there is a discount code to use for what you might need.  You can also check out the alphabetical list of stores first and then narrowing your choices down.

For added savings, Coupon Chief has a program called Pay-2-Share, which can benefit you also when you add and upload coupons to their website.  Once you enroll, the company will pay you 2% of the purchase price if someone uses the coupon you contribute.

Something else that Coupon Chief  has worth noting is their Coupons-4-Causes program, where up to 20% of your online purchases can go to your favorite charity.

Besides their website,  Coupon Chief has a blog and is also on Facebook, Twitter, and subscribe to their RSS feed or sign up for their email newspaper on the right side of their homepage.

Shop wisely and check out this fantastic site.  I really think Coupon Chief can help save you some money.  I know I will  be visiting them!

Need Help Improving Your Sleeping Habits?

Sometimes, falling asleep can be difficult.  Some of us experience sleepless nights on a frequent basis, which can affect our health, mood, and relationships.  However, there are methods to improve your chances for more nights of restful sleep.

Start preparing for bed at least twenty minutes ahead of time with a scheduled nightly ritual.  Get a warm bath to soothe away your tensions and relax tired muscles or retreat somewhere quiet for a bit of reading for a pleasant distraction from reality.

Consider what you need to do the next day by making a list before crawling into bed.  Keeping track of important tasks will help stop you from lying awake worrying about what errands you can't forget.

Before you actually are about to slip into bed, you should close the blinds or drapes to keep out  the light.  Next, turn down the heat because sleeping in a dark room between 68 and 72  degrees are the best temperatures for sleeping!

Which is More Sanitary--Hot Air Dryers Verses Paper Towels in Public Restrooms?

This is the time of year when we are more susceptible to illness and need to be extra cautious.  Washing our hands and soaping thoroughly for at least twenty seconds is extremely important to help protect us against germs.  Yet, no matter how you take precautions there are times you need to visit a public restroom, but do you know which is the safer choice when it comes to drying your hands?

You may avoid touching the hot air dryer with an elbow bump or some other unique method to prevent direct contact.  Since your freshly washed hands did not land on the button to power up, you may think this is the cleaner choice over the paper towel option.  However, I hate to tell you this but according to one study there are significantly more germs using the hot air dryer over those paper towels.

According to the researchers, the hot air dryers can blow out bacteria that accumulate inside the machines over time and stick to  moist hands up to a whooping 435 percent compared to 57 percent for paper towels.  This is not hot air only the disgusting truth.

So the next time you need to use that public restroom, you may want to use paper towels instead to dry your washed hands.

To further protect yourself, you should use a paper towel to turn off the water and also to open the restroom door when leaving.

Want to Keep Your Pants Hem From Falling?

How many times have you pulled one dangling thread from your hemline to have the entire hem fall down?  This frustrating and embarrassing ordeal can be a thing of the past with what I am about to share with you with this simple trick.

I found a great way to keep your hemline protected from one thread unraveling is just by changing your hemming technique.

The next time you're working on a hem, about every couple of inches, knot the thread before proceeding  to work.  This will strengthen the stitching much better and safeguard the integrity of your hemline.  And if anything breaks, you will be saved the hassle of losing your entire hem since only a small section at a time would be affected.

This is one tip that I'm nuts about--and I hope you will be too!

Harden Your Soaps and Scent Your Lingerie or Any Dresser Drawers

What I love to do is unwrap fragrant soaps and place a few bars in my lingerie drawer or any dresser drawer to infuse that beautiful scent throughout undergarments, sweaters, or whatever you store there.

Not only will your items inside have an exquisite fragrance, but your soaps will harden and last longer when you use them.

Once the scent loses strength, you simply need to replace and start unwrapping more scented bars and start the process again!

Make My Homemade Brown Sugar Body Scrub for Silky Smooth Skin!

The next time you want to indulge in a luxurious spa-like treatment to get petal-soft skin, then I have just what you need with this wonderful homemade body scrub.  Unlike a plain sugar scrub, this one has a softer texture with brown sugar and is gentle enough to exfoliate even if you have sensitive skin.

This recipe isn't as expensive as it might appear even though it uses my preference of almond oil,  an essential oil, and Vitamin E capsules.  You will be getting a few times out of a batch, which can last for about a month in the refrigerator.

The important thing is to bath or shower first and then follow with this scrub.  Use gentle, circular motions and work the scrub over your body, concentrating on rough areas.

When you finish, you simply rinse the scrub away with warm water. Do not soap up again afterwards.  You want to benefit from the nourishing moisture of the almond oil and healing qualities of the Vitamin E as it penetrates your skin.

Besides, smelling the orange essential oil is aromatherapy and will help uplift your spirits and lessen stress.

I hope you try this great recipe sometime.  You will love how pampered your skin will feel.  On the same note, using the orange essential oil does also seem to melt troubles away as well!

My Brown Sugar Body Scrub

1/3 cup of almond oil (olive oil, pure sesame oil (not roasted) or even canola or corn oil)
2/3 cup of packed brown sugar
8 drops of orange essential oil or (essential oil of your choice ) or 1 tablespoon of vanilla
2 Vitamin E capsules (prick with a pin and squeeze out the contents to later add to your scrub mixture)

All you do is measure out the packed brown sugar and mix in the almond oil (or oil of your choice), essential oil (or vanilla), and the contents of 2 Vitamin E  400-unit capsules into a mixing bowl.  Separate into several airtight containers to store.

You can use glass jars or clean plastic peanut butter jars for this purpose for up to a month.  I like to place mine in the refrigerator as an extra precaution.

Want to Lengthen Jeans Without Hem Lines Showing?

The next time you need to make a pair of jeans longer without having those awful hem lines show, I have a great little tip.  This will save you money and frustration.

1.  Borrow one of your children's blue crayons and color over the released hem line.

2.  Now take out your ironing board.

3.  Place a clean cloth over the top or a sheet of newspaper on your ironing board.

4.  Then turn those jeans inside out and iron in the crayon.

The color will transfer into that newly exposed hem line surprisingly well.

Trust me, those jeans will look so much better just by using this simple, but effective solution.

Tropical Traditions Organic Hair Oils Lavender Natural Hair Treatment Review and Giveaway!--Ends October 28, 2011

*Disclaimer:  This is my own honest opinion.  No money was exchanged.   I received a free product to facilitate this review.*

Like most women, I put my hair through a lot with blow drying, curling irons and hot rollers daily to leave it dry and subject to damage.  As a result, I am constantly slathering on hair conditioners to get it to return to normal.  Recently, I had the chance to test Tropical Traditions Organic Hair Oils Natural Hair Treatment in Lavender for this review and giveaway.

This product has a bounty of organic natural oils from jojoba, virgin coconut oil, to macadamia,  rosehip to carrot seed oils, Shea butter and lavender essential oil.   According to the directions, you could either put this treatment on dry hair about a half hour before washing it out or covering your head and leaving it on overnight while you sleep.

You could also leave it in after shampooing for 15 minutes or overnight as a deep conditioning treatment.

By rubbing a small amount on your hands and working into your dry hair, you can use this product as a shine serum also.

Another fantastic way is to use this product as a leave-in conditioner after shampooing.  After I washed my hair, I applied about a dime size amount and then styled my hair as usual.

When I finished blow-drying and using my curling iron, I found the texture of my hair softened considerably and obtained a beautiful shine.

I think Tropical Traditions has a winner with this Organic Hair Oils Natural Hair Treatment from how it improved the health of my hair.  I know that I will continue to use this product and want to try more of their hair and skin care products.

Thanks to Tropical Traditions, one lucky Nuts 4 Stuff reader in the United States or Canada wins an 8-oz. bottle of Organic Hair Oils Natural (Lavender) Hair Treatment ($28 value)!
