Megan Kimono Robe from Adore Me

Shopping for lingerie can be time consuming.  It also can be frustrating when the selection is limited and you have a certain style in mind.  However, there may be a simple solution and it’s called Adore Me.

Modeling Megan Kimono Robe by Adore Me.jpeg
Take a look at my new Megan Kimono Robe.  This is fresh out of the box.
Adore Me is an online retailer of lingerie that offers customers two ways to shop.  Either you can become an Adore Me VIP member with access to your own showroom where new items based on your preferences appear each month for you to view in a discounted monthly subscription of $39.95 or for $49.95 per selection as a Pay as You Go customer.

Of course, you also must enter a credit card number first as a VIP member before gaining admission to your showroom. This is where you need to either buy or skip from the selections by the fifth of every new month, which includes free shipping and returns.  With every sixth purchase, you will get another $39.95 selection for free.

Now that you have a basic understanding of how Adore Me works, I will share my thoughts on the lovely Megan Kimono Robe that I selected.  Though it looks and feels like high shine satin, the pretty rosy-red fabric is 100% polyester with wide, graceful Kimono sleeves, pockets on each side, and a slash tie closure. This garment is also machine washable. The fit was on target.  It draped nicely to hug your curves while being very comfortable.

Adore Me has lots of other gorgeous lingerie from bras, panties, corsets, sleepwear, extra sexy items too plus sizes waiting to tempt me.  If this sounds like your kind of lingerie store or you intend to do some holiday gift shopping, then do check out all that Adore Me has to offer.

Memebox Scentbox #5 Tropical Fruits.jpeg
Memebox Scentbook #5 Tropical Fruits

This time DHL delivered my new Memebox before I had any clue to what this hot pink package of Korean beauty contained.  But, I wasn’t clueless for long because once I cut through that package, the most delicious fragrances seeped through that cardboard box.

According to the card, the enticing assortment was Memebox Scentbox #5 Tropical Fruits. Inside it brought five products that were like taking an instant vacation to tropical paradise as I inhaled and examined each one.

This is another sold out box that went for $15 plus $6.99 shipping.  Listen to what you missed so that next time, you can be prepared to leap once another Memebox Scentbox becomes available.

Memebox Scentbox #5 Tropical Fruits:

1.  Boutique Bebe Coconut Pack (100g) Full Size–$20.00

2.  Ladykin Twinklight Soft Foam Cleansing Kiwi (100ml)–Full Size–$10.00

3.  KONAD Niju Mango Moisture Hand Cream (60ml)–Full Size–$6.00

4.  KONAD Scented Polish (10ml)–Full Size–$6.00

5.  Evas Vitamin Body Wash (200ml)–Full Size–$6.00

 Total Value: $48.00

This was my first time sampling anything from Boutique Bebe with their awesome all natural coconut oil facial soap, Coconut Pack.  My skin looked like it had a mini facial after washing with it.  They recommend using this creamy indulgence twice a week to help keep the pores this tiny. Check it out here while this super soap on sale from $40.00 for two bars to $17 and you’ll see what I mean.

The Ladykin Cleansing Kiwi is a hydrating foaming cleanser with a kiwi scent that rinses grime and makeup off with a few puffs of it and some water.

The KONAD Hand Cream was a delight with both its mango scent and how well the rich cream healed dry, rough hands.

The KONAD Nail Polish, a deep red, was lychee scented.  I didn’t try this or any scented polish yet and can’t wait to see how that works.  I will paint my nails as soon as I complete my nail polish reviews.

Finally, I got the EVAS Body Wash in strawberry.  This juicy scent of those strawberries makes me hungry, but it is so pleasant to bathe with, surrounded by lots of foamy, strawberry bubbles!

Have you checkout out Time on My Lips, the newest addition to Memebox for doing gradient lips in a hybrid gel formula. This is the company's own product done with Korean cult beauty brand, RE: CIPE.

Kushyfoot Fall 2014 Legwear Collection Review

**Disclaimer:  This post has been compensated through a free product (s) or monetary payment.  Opinions are solely mine. All links are "no-follow" links.**
Kushyfoot Winter Tights and Trouser Socks.jpeg
Kushyfoot Shaping Tights (left), Fleece Trouser Socks  (middle) and Fashion Tights (right)

Functional chic is how I would describe Kushyfoot’s legwear for this season with styles of various flattering tights and cozy trouser socks.

The assortment I received for this review was the Shaping Tights with Massaging Sole ($9.99) that comes in black and designed for improving the figure.  I also got a pair of the Fashion Tights (Ribbed) with Massaging Sole that could add an extra edge to an outfit.  Last of all, I found a pair of the Fleece Trouser Socks ($5.99), which are thicker than tights and stretchy with a soft lining to keep feet toasty among the items.

Whether you like the look of an Opaque leg to one that is ribbed or has a chevron motif, Diamond pattern to a Fishet design, or even fleece lined to shaping tights, the company has a style of tights for you.  This collection also includes fishnet and fleece lined trouser socks.

These legwear styles range in price from $5.99-$9.99 around the nation and online.  Check them and the more than 40 styles available at the Kushyfoot website.

NYC New York Color Fashion Queen Collection of In a Minute Nail Polishes and Queen Jewels Crystal Couture Top Coats Review for Fall, 2014 + SWATCHES!

Starting on the left in the above photo 002 Queen of the City, then 003 Crown Gold, and ending with 001 Royal Chic on the right.

NYC New York Color created a lot of dramatic nail looks for Fall with their Fashion Queen Collection of three New York Color In a Minute Nail Polishes ($1.99) and six product line of Queen Jewels Crystal Couture Top Coats ($1.99).

New York Color In a Minute Nail Polish, Royal Chic 001 is a deep brown with a hint of plum to make it more exotic. Flowing like a dark rich burgundy wine is 002 Queen of the City, my favorite among the group.  Then again, 003 Crown Gold is a bronze-gold, which also warmed my heart for how nicely it accented short nails.

I also received three of the Queen Jewels Crystal Couture Top Coats to try out.  001 Fashion Queen had big chunks of glitter in two tones of gold.  003 NY Princess also was heavy on the glitter with two tones of a majestic purple.  Those two were just all right.  The large glitter failed to spread evenly and gathered in spots.  This size of glitter was a bit too gaudy and distracting for my taste, if truth is told.

NYC New York Color Crystal Couture Top Coats.jpeg
On the left is 003 NY Princess with 001 Fashion Queen in the middle and ending with my fave shade of 006 Rule the City.

On the other hand, I loved the effect of the last Queen Jewels Crystal Couture Top Coat, 006 Rule the City.  This was a striking gunmetal shade that had a stylish, shimmery base and tiny bits of red-plum glitter to pop it to life discreetly without looking gaudy.  It painted on evenly to make it win more points with me.

Starting with my thumb and working over to my index finger on my left hand is 002 Queen of the City, then 003 Crown Gold, 003 NY Princess,  006 Rule the City, and ending with 001 Royal Chic on my little finger.  My right hand has 001 Royal Chic with a top coat of 001 Fashion Queen on the thumb. 001 Fashion Queen is also on my right index finger.

Do check this limited edition NYC New York Fashion Queen Collection out when looking to updating your Fall nail polishes and top coats.  I think you will like what you see once you hit the drug store where you shop.

Pur Minerals Chateau Cheeks Blush (Kinky and Savvy) Review + SWATCHES!

**Disclaimer:  This post has been compensated through a free product (s) or monetary payment.  Opinions are solely mine. All links are "no-follow" links.**

Pur Minerals Chateau Cheeks Blush (Kinky and Savvy).jpeg
Kinky is on the left and  the more matte shade of Savvy is on the right.

Pur Minerals Chateau Cheeks Blush offers a wonderful alternative to providing natural glowing mineral color that is packed with anti-aging benefits derived from grapes
and resveratrol. This is a caring blush manufactured without parabens, glutens, or any testing on animals to make it even more beautiful.

I received two of the four shades in the pressed powder blush form with Kinky (a gorgeous brighter pink with gleams of gold that burst to life when it touched my fair,  warm complexion) and Savvy (a cooler toned mauve color that was a bit darker and more subdued in the radiance department for my skin ).

Modeling Pur Minerals Chateau Cheeks Blushes.jpeg
Closest to my wrist is Kinky then  the deeper toned, Savvy.

These blushes don’t cake and do really last quite long.  I do want to try the cream version sometime and compare which formula I like better.  Have you tried these blushes yet?

Find the Chateau Cheeks Blush line ($18) at Pur Minerals. Do check them out!

King Arthur Flour's Almond Flour Review + My Almond Marble Double Chocolate Cheesecake Bars Recipe!

King Arthur Flour Almond Flour.jpeg
King Arthur Flour Almond Flour

The other day the King Arthur Flour company kindly sent me a bag of their new USDA certified organic Almond Flour to use for this review and giveaway.  I had used whole wheat, rye, and soy flours, but this was a first attempt at baking with almond flour.

Besides being gluten-free, this finely ground nut flour adds more protein, fiber, and valuable fats to any recipe such as my sinfully rich Almond Marble Double Chocolate Cheesecake Bars, which are truly to die for with how delicious they are.

I am confident that once you try the recipe below that you will want to make this decadent treat again.
My Almond Marble Double Chocolate Cheesecake Bars.jpeg
My Almond Marble Double Chocolate Cheesecake Bars

The holidays are coming up and you will want to bake.  The King Arthur Flour website is a wonderful place to browse because they have all your baking needs covered from their high-quality, specialized flours, mixes, kitchen tools, pans, baking enhancers to great holiday gifts.  They even have a bounty of recipes to help spark your creativity in the kitchen as well as a baker’s hotline for any questions to help guarantee your baking success!

You can buy the 1-lb. Almond Flour ($14.95) directly online at the company’s website or through the King Arthur Flour catalog.  The company suggests replacing as little as 1/4 cup for the same amount of flour is enough to boost the protein content and health benefits.

My Almond Marble Double Chocolate Cheesecake Bars

½ cup of butter (1 stick)
3/4 cup of water
4-1/2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder
1-1/2 tablespoons of canola or corn oil
1-1/2 cups of flour
1 cup of King Arthur Flour's Almond Flour
2 cups of sugar
1 teaspoon of baking soda (leveled)
1-1/2 teaspoons of almond extract
½ teaspoon of salt
2 large eggs, beaten
½ cup of sour cream

1 8-oz. package of cream cheese
1/3 cup of sugar
1 large egg
6-oz. package of semi-sweet chocolate chips

You will need a saucepan. Place inside the butter, water, cocoa, and oil.  Heat those ingredients until they boil.

Take the ingredients off the heat and allow to cool.  While they do, you will need to grease a pan about 12-3/4" x 9" x 2" or even a bit larger if you want a thinner bar.

Now sift the flour, almond flour, baking soda, salt, and sugar at least twice.  Stir the sifted ingredients into the cooled, cooked mixture and mix through.  Add the beaten eggs and sour cream next along with the almond extract and mix together until well combined.

Pour the batter into your waiting, greased baking pan.

In a separate mixing bowl, you will beat the softened cream cheese and 1/3 cup of sugar about a minute before adding the egg.  Beat until the mixture is creamier with more of a fluffier consistency.

Take the cream cheese mixture and spread over the chocolate batter.  Then swirl the two together with a knife to give it that marble appearance.

Finish off by randomly scattering the chocolate chips over your finished work before baking in a 375-degree oven for about 30 minutes, depending on how your oven is regulated. If you do use a larger size pan, reduce your baking time by five minutes.

Test with a toothpick, cake tester, or a slender knife to see if anything sticks.

Great Fall, 2014 Nail Colors Start With LAQA & Co. Birthday Suit, Ankle Biter, and Chubs Nail Polish (Review) + SWATCHES!

**Disclaimer:  This post has been compensated through a free product (s) or monetary payment.  Opinions are solely mine. All links are "no-follow" links.**
Here is Birthday Suit.

This season’s nails are mysterious and seductive, whether in deep jewel-like tones to haunting nudes.  LAQA & Co.’s Birthday Suit, Ankle Biter, and Chubs Nail Polishes are perfect and stylish choices to wear this Fall, 2014.

Birthday Suit ($13) is an elegant pinkish-beige nude color that is soft, feminine, and the perfect neutral.  This shade, which is my favorite, is like a beautiful extension of your hand.
Let me show you Birthday Suit.

Ankle Biter ($13) is described on LAQA & Co.’s website as a rose-gold color.  I found it more of a shimmering deep brown overcast with red-plum to give it that smoldering intrigue of the range of interesting browns dominating this season.

This is Ankle Biter.

I love the layering of the rich and mysterious colors in Ankle Biter.

In keeping with jewel-like tones, LAQA & Co.’s Chubs shines brilliantly in a rich gold shade.

In this photo, I am holding Chubs.

Take a look at Chubs.

These are just three of my top Fall nail polish picks from LAQA & Co. that would work beautifully for you this season. Do check them out!

Whipped Body Butter

The Shea Butter collection is one of L’Occitane en Provence’s best selling product lines. Most notable is their Shea Butter Hand Cream, which has been bringing relief and softness to suffering hands for twenty years now.  To mark this remarkable anniversary, the company has recently launched a new limited edition Shea Whipped Collection that sports an amazing fluffier texture that your skin will love.

The Whipped Body Butter inside that tin ($24) is a rich, but weightless mousse that absorbed into my dry skin instantly without leaving any greasy residue behind.  With its 10% formula and soothing innocent fragrance, it has a light as air feeling and is a thorough way to moisturize and protect you all over during the cold weather months.

A Quick Fix for Your Flyaway Hair Problem

Flyaway hair can be a problem, especially in the winter.  The next time that this happens to you, I have a sure fix to tame that wild hair.  You might want to try heading to your kitchen or pantry for some olive oil.

One-fourth of a teaspoon of olive oil will be enough to make problem hair more manageable besides adding some extra shine.

I hope that you try this because it never let me down yet!

Are You Giving Your Skin Care Products Enough Time to Work?

Are you constantly changing your skin care regime because you’re not seeing any real improvements? If this sounds like you, then the product itself may not necessarily be to blame. The real truth is that you may not have been using that product long enough since some lines take longer than others depending on their formulas before you’ll notice changes.

For instance, some anti-aging lines can take up to three months before you’ll notice a difference.

Acne products show results faster.  Sometime, this type of skin care may take anywhere from six weeks to three months.

On the other hand, skin-lightening products can be extremely slow working.  On an average, these products can take about six to twelve months of use before the bleaching effect is thoroughly realized.

Regardless of any recommended time there is something to keep in mind.  Stop using a product immediately if you develop redness, a rash, itching, or any swelling because it signals an allergy.  In fact, you can become allergic to products that you use faithfully at any time so be careful.

An Unexpected Home Remedy to Do Away With Dandruff!

If you suddenly discovered a few flakes of dandruff and want to run out and immediately buy a bottle of medicated dandruff shampoo, then you might be wasting your money and drying out your hair unnecessarily.  Unless you know how to distinguish between flakes of dandruff and those flakes left behind from styling products, you may not even have an actual dandruff problem.

First of all, you need to look at those flakes again and examine the color.  Dandruff flakes are white.  On the other hand, the residue from styling products usually is not white and being sheerer in appearance.

Those flakes caused from a build up of styling products are better dealt with clarifying shampoo.  You can even make your own as I mentioned in an earlier post just by adding one tablespoon of baking soda to two and a half tablespoons of your normal shampoo. This really does strip away all that gunk and leaves hair beautiful again.

Then again, you might be saddled with white dandruff flakes. In that case, you could also try crushing two aspirins (use only if you are not allergic to aspirin) and mixing them with the same amount of your normal shampoo. The reason this can help this problem is the fact that aspirins have salicylic acid, which is the same effective ingredient found in higher priced dandruff shampoos.

Try this advice because you have nothing to lose–only more beautiful hair to gain!

Recipe: You’ll Love My Dinner in a Snap Cheesy-Chicken Casserole Especially When You Need to Free Up Your Day!

Today, I have a fabulous main course recipe with my Dinner in a Snap Cheesy-Chicken Casserole that is delicious and so easy to prepare that you will wonder how such a great dish could also be so simple to make!

All the effort required is just a minimum of chopping before assembling the ingredients and storing in the refrigerator until when you take it out and pop your casserole dish in the oven the next day.

Besides that, this creamy casserole will also save you money because you can throw in leftover chicken, turkey, beef, and even any leftover veggies if you desire to accompany the mushrooms, onion, and some elbow macaroni.

If you want a richer sauce, then substitute the same amount of evaporated milk for the plain milk for a more velvety consistency.

I do hope that you will want to try this casserole because even the most reluctant eaters usually ask for seconds.

Dinner in a Snap Cheesy-Chicken Casserole

1 can of cream of mushroom soup
1 can of cream of chicken soup or cream of celery soup
1 small onion or about ½ cup
Two cups of milk or evaporated milk
8 oz. cups of uncooked elbow macaroni
½ lb. of Velveeta cheese
1 cup of fresh mushrooms, sliced
1/4 cup of chopped green pepper
3 cups of diced, cooked chicken, turkey, or beef
3/4 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of curry powder
1/4 teaspoon of black pepper

Once you have everything chopped and clean, you just mix all the ingredients together in your casserole dish, cover, and then store in your refrigerator until needed.

Later, you bake your casserole in a 350-degree oven for about an hour or so, depending on how your oven is regulated.

Review: Mally Beauty Pro-Tricks Correcting Palette (Lighter)

**Disclaimer:  This post has been compensated through a free product (s) or monetary payment.  Opinions are solely mine. All links are "no-follow" links.**

Mally Beauty Pro-Tricks Correcting Palette (Lighter).jpeg
Mally Beauty Pro-Tricks Correcting Palette (Lighter)

Each of us knows what we consider our best features and those other features we think less of.  However, learning how to fool the eye with makeup to cast highlights and shadows can dramatically alter a face.  I had the opportunity to put Mally Beauty’s Pro-Tricks Correcting Palette to see how it would work for just that purpose.

Mally Beauty’s Pro-Tricks Correcting Palette has three shades in one compact with a lighter highlight shade, a middle shade that is a bit darker, and then a deeper color for contouring. Being fair-skinned, I went with the Lighter version of this palette over the Deeper one.

I prepped first with this palette of what Mally Roncal terms “war paint” before my foundation and the rest of my makeup. I began with the darkest and brushed some of this creamy shade underneath my jaw line, in the hollows of my cheeks, down the sides of my nose, and under the tip of my nose to create the illusions I needed.

Next, I went with the lightest color for the top of my cheekbones, in the center of my forehead, under my eyes, at the bridge of my nose, underneath the eyebrows, and at the center of my chin.  You can also mix both light shades for the under eye area depending on your coloring, but I preferred using the palest color along.
Afterwards, I dabbed on my foundation and normal under eye concealer before I finally went to work blending everything together.  At once, I noticed my face went from being oval to having more chiseled cheeks, a higher forehead, a slimmer nose, and a lift in the eye area. I finished off with my other cosmetics and really liked what I saw in the mirror using this palette.

Find Mally Beauty’s Pro-Tricks Correcting Palette ($40) at Mally Beauty or QVC.  Do look for this product because it really comes in handy for helping you do a little face magic!

Having quality and using specific brushes matter when applying cosmetics and do make all the difference in how your makeup goes on.  If you ask me, a company that makes excellent brushes is IT Cosmetics because their luxurious brushes are what I rely on to perfect my look.

With that said, I have some exciting news to share.  IT Cosmetics teamed up with ULTA with three exclusive collections (Airbrush Essentials, Live Beauty Fully Inspired, and the Velvet Luxe) of their fabulous brushes!

I received a sampling of each of those lines with their 12 Must-Have Brushes.  These are the essentials you need to do all your beauty tasks from working with foundations, powders, blushes, bronzers, concealers, eye shadows, eye liners, and brows to smooth, perfect, blend, and blur cosmetics with more precision like any makeup artist.

I know once you try these brushes that they also will become your new #BeautyBFF!  Take a look at my photos and see for yourself how plush and well built these are.

This second photo has on the left the OMG! Foundation No. 106 ($24) brush from the Airbrush Collection with Flawless Blush No. 227 ($28) in the middle from Live Beauty Fully and ending on the right with the Blurring Foundation No. 101 from the Airbrush Collection.

This third photo has two of my favorites from their Velvet  Luxe Collection with the LBD Foundation No. 302 ($38) on the left and the Soft Focus Sculpting No. 315 ($34) on the right.  They have a pampering feel!

In this last photo, I want to show you these wonderful eye brushes.  The first two are from the Live Beauty Fully line.  Starting on the left is the Essential Concealer No. 212 ($22), then the Angled Liner/Brown No. 217 ($16) followed by the Precision Shadow No. 112 from the Airbrush Collection with the Blending Crease No. 105 ($14) also from the same Airbrush Collection.

Ladies, I can't stress enough how important it is to have great brushes like these to work with.  Once you use them yourself, you'll understand why I love my new  IT Brushes for ULTA so.  Check them out and thank me later!

IT Cosmetics Your Most Radiant You! Five-Piece Collection (Review) Debuts October 14, 2014!

IT Cosmetics Your Most Radiant You Collection
IT Cosmetics Your Most Radiant You! Collection

Circle Tuesday, October 14 on your calender, beauty lovers, because IT Cosmetics is scheduled to release an exciting grouping of anti-aging cosmetics on QVC with the Your Most Radiant You! Five-Piece Collection when it will appear as TODAY'S SPECIAL VALUE starting at midnight Eastern Standard Time. Take it from this IT girl, this is one bargain that deserves your attention.

I am so thrilled about this collection because inside this box is everything you could possibly want to look effortlessly polished and at your best with some of my favorite IT products like their Celebration Foundation Illumination, a Heavenly Luxed Double Airbrush Foundation Brush, and a No-Tug Waterproof Gel Eyeliner as well as two brand-new items (CC+ Radiance Ombre Blush and Hello Lashes Extensions 24HR Mascara)!

Let me tell you that the CC+ Radiance Ombre Blush (Je Ne Sais Quoi) is phenomenal with its light, but velvety texture that allows you to customize its glow because this compact graduates in three degrees of pink.  It was great changing from just a fine luminous flush of pink then dusting on more from the darker part for a bolder shade before highlighting with the palest gossamer pink at the top.

IT Cosmetics CC+ Ombre Color Correcting Blushing Veil
IT Cosmetics CC+ Ombre Color Correcting Blushing Veil

Hello Lashes Extensions 24HR Mascara is their second new beauty gem.  This is a wonderful, long-wearing product that sort of reminds me of their Tightline in how it is applied and for building up lashes. If you hate gluing on false lashes, this product has enough nylon fibers that made my lashes huge and flirty.  The formula also has ingredients to keep lashes gorgeous with peptides, collagen, green tea, and vitamin B5 just to name a few.

Trust me, but you will love the Celebration Foundation Illumination for that extra radiant finish it adds to a complexion as it smooths away your skin’s flaws using that Heavenly Luxed Double Airbrush Foundation Brush
IT Cosmetics Celebration Foundation Illumination
IT Cosmetics Celebration Foundation Illumination (Fair)

In my opinion, the No-Tug Waterproof Gel Eyeliner (Black-Brown) is one of IT Cosmetics best products.  Read my review for the full scoop because this eyeliner glides on, does not smudge, and wears for hours until you decide to take it off.

Now that I told you what to expect from this Your Most Radiant You! Five-Piece Collection I think you can understand why you need to set that alarm!
