How to Lessen Your Chances of Waking Up With Puffy Eyes

Your sleeping position can make a huge difference in how your eyes look in the morning.

Something that I have lived with for years was waking up with swollen, puffy eyes due to allergies.  Puffiness around the eyes is hardly the first thing that you want to see when you look into your mirror.  Nonetheless, there are many of use that are stuck with this beauty curse.  Whether you also suffer from allergies or occasional puffiness due to stress, missed sleep or dietary causes, I have found a great tip that does seem to help the head drain better so all that accumulated fluid doesn’t end up where you don’t want it to, pooled up around the eyes.

What you should try is sleeping on two pillows instead of one.  I will be honest with you.  Sleeping on two pillows on your back does take some getting used to.  However, you will be pleased at how this extra bit of elevation for your head keeps the fluid away from the eye area and filtering through your bloodstream instead.

Sleeping on your side only takes the fluid in the wrong direction.  You also notice that you’ll be more congested.  Another advantage of sleeping on your back is saving your face from all that tugging from rolling around in bed changing positions.  Trust me, you will be glad you did once you get accustomed to this new way of sleeping for the improvement in the amount of puffiness and wear and tear on your face.

Do read my other posts on some great tricks to get rid of puffy eyes and another with natural puffy eye fixes once you are faced with the puffy eye problem.
