These waffles appear more beige than chocolate color, but have subtle chocolate awesomeness!

Many of us will be having family and friends coming to stay with us over the holidays.  If so, I have the perfect breakfast to make them feel extra welcome by way of this recipe.  Imagine a delicious chocolate scent slowly circulating, wafting upwards to the bedrooms of where your out-of-town guests may be sleeping.  What a wonderful way to wake up, don’t you think?

My Special Chocolate Waffles is another easy recipe to spread holiday cheer that will bring smiles along with more happy memories for those special guests to take home with them.  Usually, a sprinkling of confectioners’ sugar is enough sweetness to ideally set off the chocolate.  However, a fresh berry sauce or chocolate syrup over these waffles is just as scrumptious.

If you have a Belgian waffle maker, these delightful waffles taste even better for some reason.

By some miracle, if you have any leftovers,  these waffles can be reheated in your microwave!

My Special Chocolate Waffles

2-1/3 cups flour
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tablespoons of sugar
2 cups of milk
½ teaspoons of salt
2 large eggs, beaten
1/4 cup of canola oil
2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
1 tablespoon of baking powder, leveled

Sift the flour, then add the dry ingredients into your mixing bowl before adding the wet ingredients.

Mix well and then pour into your preheated, well-greased waffle iron.

Pour in about 3/4 cup of batter at a time and bake as unusual until the little light signals it is done.

Top with sifted confectioners’ sugar, a berry sauce or a chocolate syrup sauce.

ENJOY!
