NYC New York Color Smooth Skin Pressed Powder

I always use both loose and pressed powder to set my foundation for more extended wear.  However, I have never tried any from NYC New York Color and was wondering how their Smooth Skin Pressed Powder would perform.  I was sent two compacts to review with the #701 Translucent and the #702A Naturally Beige.

What was interesting about this powder was how it seemed to diffuse a look of light to my skin while it nicely smoothed out and covered my complexion.  The #701 Translucent did not add color to alter my foundation, but did have a pale whitish cast to it.

The #702A Naturally Beige was sheer enough to use over my foundation and gave me a bit more natural color than the #701 Translucent.  This shade was a better choice for my light skin.  Nonetheless, both of those compacts gave my dry skin a pretty satin finish while keeping my makeup intact.

This powder comes with a sponge applicator.  This is handy for your handbag for touch ups.  But for when you want to get the most out of this product, you should try using a big, fluffy powder, which will distribute more of that powder over your finished makeup.  This substitution will keep your complexion fresher longer when using a pressed powder over a loose powder.

If you haven't tried NYC New York Color Smooth Skin Pressed Powder, you can't go wrong.  It's inexpensive and does the job with a bit extra by the way it can cast light on your skin.
