Your Mother's Day Beauty Solution: Redken 5th Avenue Award-Winning Styling Products Review

Unlike some of you beauties, I need lots of work to make myself presentable when it comes to my hair.  My problem is forceful bangs that grow downward, some waves and curls, and loss of a shine from daily damage and products.  Therefore, I was very eager to work with more of Redken 5th Avenue award-winning styling products on my complicated head.

I received Satinwear 02 Ultimate Blow-Dry Lotion, Guts 10 Volume Spray Foam, Quick Dry 18 Instant Finishing Spray, Wax Blast 10, Outshine 01 Anti-Frizz Polishing Milk, and Rewind 06 Pliable Styling Paste.  I have used some together, others one at a time, exploring new directions with my hair.

One of my particular favorites is their award-winning Rewind 06 Pliable Styling Paste. When starting a new styling product,  I always use the smallest amount first to see how much works to avoid hard, sticky helmet head hair that would need to shampooed out.  Since this product is a cross between a cream and wax, I tried just a tad of this fibrous stuff on my slightly damp stubborn long bangs.  

To my complete astonishment, I had the best side swept layered bang ever without any escapees from that section for a soft, moveable hold that lasted.  This hold stayed put even without hairspray!  Better yet, I woke up the next morning and my hair stayed put throughout that day until I shampooed later that night.  

This is a miracle product that is far superior to anything that I have ever used to keep my forceful hair back. Trust me, your hair behaves the way YOU want it with Rewind 06 and I will definitely be buying this when I finish this jar.  This paste sells for $18.50 for the five-ounce jar, which is economical for how far this product goes and is worth every penny.  I had always used lots more of the pastes and the waxes, definitely needed hairspray, and never could count on such hold lasting the next day.  But with Rewind 06, I have one less thing to worry about and gain hair confidence. 

Satinwear 02 Ultimate Blow-Dry Lotion is another winner to look into.  I applied some to my freshly shampooed hair while being still damp.  First, I used this without styling products to see how my hair would feel.  The result was silky soft hair again with a nice gleam to it after the heat from my blow dryer activated their exclusive bonding system to smooth and protect.  The next time I used this product I used it with some of the other styling products and was not disappointed.

Guts 10 Volume Spray Foam is a phenomenal mousse.  I sprayed some  in the spots I wanted, and  once I finished drying and curling, I had a full head of softly bouncing waves and curls that were touchable--not tacky.  

What also was a nice effect was using the Guts 10 Volume Spray Foam, then applying a little of the Rewind 06 Pliable Styling Paste and twisting a section of hair at a time for more of an edgier look followed with some of the Wax Blast 10.

Wax Blast 10 gives hair more shine and definition.  I sprayed this on like a finishing spray for even more texture and hold.  

Outshine 01 Anti-Frizz Polishing Milk is another fantastic performer.  It delivers a shine, provides a light styling quality, strengthens, and helps keep frizz away.  The formula has Shea butter, wheat protein, cationic polymers, and silicones to make my hair so much prettier.

The Quick Dry 18 Instant Finishing Spray leaves a healthy shine as well with maximum hold.  It also protects hair from the humidity.  With the Rewind 06 Pliable Styling Paste and the Guts 10 Volume Spray Foam, I did not have to be dependant on hairspray.  However, I used the Quick Dry 18 when the weather turned windy and those rainy days to guarantee my style stayed in place.  I must admit that I arrived without droopy hair or the need to pull out a curling iron for a quick touch up.

I have been experimenting, combining and changing the ways and places I use these new Redken products.  Each time, I am discovering some new hair trick that I now am able to create that never worked for me before--especially with my sheer love of the Rewind 06 Pliable Styling Paste and the Guts 10 Volume Spray Foam.  Nonetheless, I do think the others are also amazing but for different purposes.

If you're looking for a way to keep your hair perfectly styled this Mother's Day or any day, instead of being a slave to your style, then I highly recommend these Redken 5th Avenue award-winning styling products to keep you beautifully coiffed.

Redken 5th Avenue Award-Winning Hair Styling Products Review and Giveaway!--Ends February 10, 2012

Are you searching for some hair styling secret weapons?  Then you are in luck because our friends at Redken 5th Avenue have sent me some of their award-winning styling products for this review and giveaway that will make that hair look like you just walked out of a salon.  I can't wait to tell you about what I discovered using this selection I was sent that could handle a variety of different hair needs.  

Redken Full Frame 07 Protective Volumizing Mousse, Water Wax 03 Shine Defining Pomade, Powder Grip 03, Forceful 23 Super Strength Finishing Spray

Even though I have thick, not thin hair, my hair has some layers cut into it to take advantage of my natural wave and curl.  As a rule, I prefer volumizing mousse to other varieties because it plumps up the layers to make most of my curls.  When I tried the Full Frame 07 Protective Volumizing Mousse, I found the polymers in this formula really made by curls even fuller with this all-over volumizing ability.  In addition, my hair felt softer and free of that hardness or sticky feel that some similar products can leave behind.

I liked how long my curls stayed so full without drooping throughout the day.  In fact, it was raining when I went out and my curls were still there later when I returned home.     

Next, I tried the Water Wax 03 Shine Defining Pomade on my side swept, layered bangs.  I have this awful cowlick that always gives me trouble.  This section of my hair needs the strongest product to keep it out of my eyes and dealing with it can often be like forcing back the wind.  

What I really liked about this Water Wax 03 was it had the power to actually subdue my cowlick better than I had ever expected and added wheat protein for strengthening my hair as well.  The mico-emulsifers for moist control were wonderful to prevent any stickiness while the mica added shine.  My feathered bangs stayed put and gave me nice control without weighing my hair down with too much product while the humectants kept it softer to the touch than turning hard like a shell.   If this worked so well with my stubborn cowlick, I can see how fantastic Water Wax 03 would be for more dramatic, bolder styles without worrying about how to wash it out.  Trust me, but you will understand after you use this yourself why this product won awards.

A different time I tried Redken's new Powder Grip 03.  This is a mattifying hair powder that you only need a tiny amount to give you a more tousled texture like having a volumizing product and hair spray in one, to change your style. 

All I did was to shake a littleof this Powder Grip 03 into the palm of my hand and worked it to the roots.  After I grabbed my curling iron and brushed, my hair had some pretty lift and hold quickly.   I tried this stuff without following up with the curling iron and my style was a looser sort of curl.  This would be great to help achieve an updo style.  

Last of all, I tried their award-winning Forceful 23 Super Strength Finishing Spray.  This is perfect for delivering total hold and safeguarding your hairstyle when humidity strikes with the antioxidants such as vitamin E in this formula.  What else I noticed was this spray left my hair free from any residue or flakes and I didn't have to worry about this fading my hair color while my hair gained a brilliant shine.  You can brush your hair later in the day and this product still keeps that style in check without fear of those curls drooping.  What else could you possibly want in a hair spray?

Seriously, I loved these Redken styling products and will be buying them again.  I honestly recommend checking them out and especially that Water Wax 03 if you have problem hair like mine because these can help keep you beautiful.

Redken 5th Avenue All Soft Hair Care products

Extraordinary looking hair calls for extraordinary products like the amazing All Soft Hair Care Line I received for this review and giveaway from Redken 5th Avenue.  This is a set of five remarkable products that can reverse dry, brittle hair and turn it into healthy, soft hair that will make you the envy of all your friends from how it will shine and bounce with new vitality and luster. 

Why this All Soft Line is so unique is due to their revolutionary new delivery system, the Interlock Protein Network, and the Keratin Enrich Complex that use argan oil to restore protein back to the hair at the cortex for deep penetration while moisturizing to new extremes.

Redken All Soft Shampoo is what I tried first.  This is a rich nourishing formula with a fabulous fragrance that lathered up wonderfully and rinsed out easily.

Next, I sampled the Redken All Soft Conditioner to follow that product.  This was wonderful to  detangle hair that is prone to knots like mine.  After working it into a lather, I rinsed it out after about a minute or two. 

Before I finished and headed for my blow dryer, I applied some of the All Soft Argan-6 Oil.  This multi-use product is a miracle worker for damaged hair as I told you before.  You can use it as heat shield before reaching for your blow dryer, as a deep conditioner to leave on your hair overnight, smooth out misbehaving hair with a drop or two when blow-drying,  to give yourself a treatment  before washing for an extra hair help, or even as a shine booster.

I applied a few drops of the All Soft Argan-6 Oil to my towel-dried hair and left it in.  Afterwards, I applied heat with my blow-dryer and curling iron.  My hair does suffer from dryness.  However, I am glad to report it was back to its glorious old self within one treatment.

Later in that week, I added the All Soft Heavy Cream after washing with the All Soft Shampoo.  This is a heavier duty softening mask that I left in for about fifteen minutes (the maximum time) for some extra deep conditioning. 
Well, I didn't think my hair could look or feel more luxurious, but it was even more beautiful than before once I finished drying and styling.

I eventually wanted to see how the All Soft Supple Touch Softening Cream-Spray worked so I experimented with that product.  This one I used after using the regular All Soft Shampoo and Conditioner and applied some to the mid-lengths and ends of my towel-dried hair.  I did not rinse this out but dried and styled with my curling iron.

By now, my hair was looking incredible.  I did not think it could possibly look too much better until I discovered how utterly gorgeous hair was now on my head without being weighed down while making it easier to manage. 

This line is simply one of the best for repairing that dry, brittle feel and delivering unbelievable movie-star quality hair!

No wonder the All Soft Line has received so many awards for excellence.  Honestly, I highly recommend these products because they do perform for that dramatic difference!

Redken's New TOUSLE WHIP 04 Review and Giveaway!--August 22, 2011

Redken's New TOUSLE WHIP 04 

If you like that sexy, slightly wind-blown look of beach hair to your waves, then you should check out  Redken's new Tousle Whip 04 soft texturizing cream-wax that I was sent for this review and giveaway.

This product gives mild control with pearl pigments for a really beautiful shine without being hard to the touch from their special blend of oils and lightweight waxes that leave it soft as well. 

Any hair type can use this product to give some definition with some carefree texture and soft separation. 

I have some natural wave in my shoulder-length hair, on the other hand, and applied about the size of a silver dollar in the palm of my hand.  (You might want to use less depending on the length of your hair.)  Rubbing the wax to spread, I patted this to my towel-dried hair and then combed through to distribute it.  Next, I clipped my hair into sections and worked on one area at a time and twisted until it took shape before moving to the next section until my whole head was finished.

Tousle Whip 04 nicely pumped up my waves with loose, tousled curls even without blowing with a diffuser for more definition.  I applied one time without even blow drying after twisting my hair and loved the results just as it dried naturally.

Redken has a video to instruct online showing how to use this product.

I honestly did like this Tousle Whip 04 to use on my hair for when you want go for that sexy  disheveled texture of tousled beach hair.

Redken 5th Avenue Color Extend Sun Hair Care Line Review & Giveaway!--Ends August 15, 2011

Let me start by saying how thrilled I was to learn about this new system since it means I can go hatless if I prefer and stop worrying about ruining my hair in the sun or when swimming  from salt or any chlorine.  Now how great is that bit of news!

I do have a large brimmed straw hat that I wear when spending extended time in the sun.  However, though my hat is pretty with ornate trimming and a slight slant to the brim, I sometimes neglect to wear it when I have an exceptionally good hair day and hate to crush it.  Vanity can leave you with a problem of straw-like hair before you know like it did with mine again until these products arrived.

The Color Extend Sun Hair Care Protection Line has a special Interbond Conditioning System and an Advanced Hydra-Shield Complex with Soplexyl, which later I discovered does amazing things quickly for crispy, color-treated hair like mine with unbeatable continuous protection even once it's rinsed out while returning the lost moisture and incredible gloss back to your hair.

Once my box arrived I went to work on my damaged hair that was lifeless and crunched when touched so I grabbed the Color Extend Sun After-Sun Shampoo.  I loved the fantastic fragrance of this product in this rich formula and followed with the award-winning Color Extend Sun After-Sun Mask, the deep conditioning treatment with mango oil and ceramide to revive that mass of straw that was on my head.

I used the maximum amount of time of 15-minutes to keep the After-Sun Mask on my hair before rinsing out.  Once I finished drying my hair, I felt new vitality return.

The next day I used the Color Extend Sun Solar Screen SPF 12 Spray first before going out in the sun to see how my hair would hold up.  The instructions mentioned applying it to dry or slightly damp hair thirty minutes before going outdoors.  I am glad to report when I returned home my hair still felt as soft as before I left.

I washed again with the After-Sun Shampoo and followed once more with the After-Sun Mask and my hair became even softer with a more magnificent shine. 

In fact, I can honestly report that with each use of these three products, the more glorious my hair looked!
