Helpful Skin Care Tips for Those With Rosacea

woman-hiding-face-in-jacket.jpeg
This beauty now has a better way to hide any skin issues.

My complexion can be sensitive at times, but I do not have rosacea.  However, my mother does suffer from it.  If you also have this problem, then you know what a challenge it can be to minimize the skin’s redness.  Diet, products and even water temperature when cleansing or winter weather can be enough to make this problem worse.

Anyone with rosacea knows how easily skin care products can irritate.  Finding the right formula can take quite a bit of experimentation before settling on products that work because everyone reacts differently to ingredients.

According to the National Rosacea Society, alcohol, witch hazel, fragrance, menthol, peppermint, and eucalyptus oil are the most common ingredients to watch out for.  Also, you need to avoid ingredients that tend to exfoliate such as alpha and beta hydroxy acids. Others such as propylene glycol, camphor, menthol or retinoids also can be too harsh in how they dry out the skin.

Instead, look for calming ingredients such as calendula oil, chamomile, shea butter, sunflower oil, and aloe.  You can also seek out a moisturizer formulated specifically for rosacea.

For a more soothing experience, refrigerate your moisturizer.  The cool temperature helps quite down the facial flushing when the condition acts up just like splashing the face with cold water or applying a cold compress.

Always remember how delicate your skin is.  Therefore, take the sun seriously because it can trigger more redness.  Make it a point to always wear a broad spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen before going outdoors.

Another way to protect your skin is to skip overly hot water when washing.  The reason this provokes rosacea is because it brings more red color to your face as the blood vessels and capillaries dilate.  You’re safer using lukewarm water and closing with cool water.

You might always want to try a green-tinted makeup primer.  This contrast of color can downplay the redness.  Mineral makeup or fragrance-free cosmetics are also wiser options.

Review: Alon Labs Rewind Skin Rejuvenation Formula for Repairing Inflammation and Reversing Skin Damage

*Disclaimer:  This is a sponsored post.

Alon Labs Rewind Skin Rejuvenation Formula

Years ago, skin care was basically limited to moisturizers that temporarily hydrated skin instead of protecting if from free radicals or with the ability to stimulate collagen growth.  Thankfully, a lot of scientific advances have made just keeping our complexions comfortable to reversing damage.   Real changes like eliminating fine lines, more even pigmentation and clearer skin is now at our fingertips–-that is, if we know how to choose those formulas properly.

Developed by a plastic surgeon to help his wife’s years of hyperpigmentation and his own rosacea, Alon Labs is a specialty health company that emerged in 2013 to address those needs.  In the process, this innovative brand developed their cutting edge, all natural Rewind Skin Rejuvenation Formula line that can take your complexion in a new direction to combat the visible signs of aging in an exciting way.

The Rewind Skin Rejuvenation Formula combines winning research as well as beneficial cell-repairing ingredients such as vitamin C, niacinamide, melatonin, amino acids, arnica, caffeine, and calendula among its ingredients.

To keep the product at maximum power, you mix the two jars of Alon Labs Rewind Skin Rejuvenation Formula together.

As you know, melatonin along with its amino acids (peptides) has been proven very effective in eliminating free radical damage in cellular function.  It also is extremely helpful into forcing the vitamin C into the skin for repairing inflammation. Niacinamide also has shown to help improve the look of wrinkles from various studies.  Calendula has anti-inflammatory abilities like arnica and caffeine, but also antibacterial properties that can only aid in reversing skin damage.

Though the formula is impressive, this product’s unique delivery system is what make the anti-aging product work differently.  Instead of a factory-mixed product, Alon Labs packages this one that is meant to be viable for 30-days with a separate liquid and a powder in order to keep the formula as potent as possible.

You simply mix the two together when ready to use.  Before you’re ready to apply to clean skin, you give the bottle a brisk shaking and then squeeze out about a half load from the dropper to the palm of your hands. All I did was to rub that emulsion together and gently patted it into my skin.  I even had enough to treat my neck.

I just started using this product since it arrived, both mornings and nights.  However, I can’t tell you that I noticed overnight revitalization since it has only been going on a week.  Yet, I will say that this nourishing cream is already making my skin feel remarkably softer and somewhat brighter.

Obviously, significant changes require more time.  Therefore, I will just have to be patient and wait to see what my complexion will be like.  Here’s hoping that it will help me get rid of that remaining little scar from an acid peel that I have been longing to make disappear.

To learn more or buy their Rewind Skin Rejuvenation Formula ($74.85) or other products, which would make a wonderful holiday gift for yourself or another, do visit Alon Labs!

Do You Want a Better Way to Minimize Facial Redness?

Makeup brushes.jpeg
A big synthetic brush can be your best friend.

Rosacea can be frustrating to deal with when attempting to minimize that redness.  Though I don’t personally have this condition, I know the difficulty it presents because my mother has it to contend with. However, she has found some great tricks when using color-correcting bases that she wanted me to share with others dealing with the same problem.

When she first started using a color-correcting product, she always used to put it on with her fingers.  Afterwards, she mentioned that it seemed to make the redness more noticeable.  Of course, the heat of her fingers as she worked that makeup in was what made the problem worse.  Then, I made a suggestion for her to try a synthetic brush.

My first thought was a foundation brush.  You would assume it would be ideal for this purpose, but it went on a bit too heavy in spots.  Finally, it hit us.  We just needed to use a bigger brush like a powder brush to apply the product.

If you want to minimize that redness with makeup and be happier with the results, you will improve your coverage if you try using a synthetic powder brush to apply it.  This size of brush really makes this sort of coverage so much better.

Another tip that honestly helps is Reviva Lab’s Spider Vein & Rosacea Day Cream with vitamin P.  (By the way, I don’t gain financially for telling you this, but what I do gain is helping you in the same way this product helped my mother).  It really lightens the red color and improves the texture of the skin while protecting with SPF.  In fact, it might even help you use less makeup to cover it as well.

Sometimes, the simplest changes can often help the most.  So here's to you staying beautiful instead of miserable!

Healing beauty products from Reviva Labs

I have reviewed many excellent skin care products from Reviva Labs.  However, I am over the top with happiness that I discovered the healing beauty products sent for this review and giveaway because they have truly made a difference for my mother’s rosacea and the problem with her feet swelling.

My mother has tried a few other skin care products to help with the rocasea on her nose.  Some have lightened it somewhat, but the problem was the skin still felt hard and peeled.  Therefore, I wanted her to try Reviva Lab’s Spider Vein & Rosacea Day Cream #261 to see if the product would fare better.

This cream has vitamin P (rutin and citrus bioflavanoids) for help in strengthening the skin’s capillary walls to cut down on that redness as it is aiding circulation to keep the trapped blood moving.  It also has wonderful moisturizing powers from ingredients like hydrogenated soy protein, grapeseed extract, wild yam extract as well as UV-A and UV-B sunscreen protection.  She has been using this product for just two weeks now and only in the mornings, but the skin is lighter and smoother with this product than anything else she has tried--including a sample of prescription treatment from her doctor!

This was great news, but what impressed me even more was Reviva Labs other product that had Vitamin P in it for her swelling problem with their Varicose Veins Lotion #262. My mother has lots of these tiny spider veins in the calves near the ankle.  She has swelling on the top of her foot and ankle.

The directions of the Varicose Veins Lotion said to apply it in the mornings, which we did regularly after first washing her legs and feet with the Seaweed Soap #568 to help stimulate circulation.  What is amazing is this lotion with its Vitamin P to constrict that blood flow immediately started fading some of those veins from sight.  This is the first thing that I noticed.

What complicates the problem for my mother is that she has other issues that affect her walking like a bad knee from arthritis and a hammer toe that make wearing shoes even more painful when walking.  I can honestly say that I am so thankful that this product is sold because it helped that swelling enough that she fit better into her shoes without as much friction from her toes that already have corns and blisters.

Anyone that has a swelling problem with their legs, I can’t tell you how highly I recommend trying this product.  To see my mother walking better just by rubbing on this lotion until we can get a permanent solution for her hammer toes and bad joints are a small miracle in itself.

The other product I wanted her to try was Reviva Labs RevitalEYES for Eyelids #213.  I wish that I can could say all her lines went away, but this would not be true.  This is a lightweight serum that used mornings and nights that did help smooth out the skin around her eyes.  It did make the area softer without leaving it too slick or sticky.  She can be quite sensitive to skin care products but this was gentle and did not cause her problems in that area either.

At night, my mother began using the Elastin Night DMAE Cream for Firming #385.  She just started using this cream for a little over two weeks, but likes the velvety feel it gives her skin. It’s still too early to notice how much the DMAE and those concentrated amino acids work in firming her wrinkles.  However, it is giving her complexion a nice texture that is lifting her spirits as well, which is beautiful to see in itself.

If you have rosacea or swelling in your legs like my mother, do try these Reviva Labs products first and also tell your doctor about them for your next visit.  This is what she will be doing for her next appointment.

Once again, Reviva Labs has come out a winner in my eyes for their amazing skin care products and now sensational healing beauty products. Do look into their website and browse because they can help you look and feel better too!

Although I don't personally have rosacea, I know how hard it can be to cover that uneven redness because my mother has it.  Then I remembered Jamie Kern, founder of IT Cosmetics, suffered from the condition as well.  In fact, one of the company's first products was Bye Bye Redness to address that discoloration problem.  Therefore, I wanted to see how well this product would work on her.

Bye Bye Redness is a one color for all skin tones neutralizing cream.  What I love about IT Cosmetics is how their beauty experts take technology and infuse anti-aging into all their formulas so it can do more for your skin than cover or color.  This product rewards skin as well as conceal the redness with anti-aging peptides, hydrolyzed collagen, hyaluronic acid, soothing colloidal oatmeal, aloe, and avocado.

Fortunately, rosacea is not a major issue for my mother, but I do know how many different products she has already tried to make the red area on her nose less noticeable.  None had given her the satisfaction until Bye Bye Redness arrived with dependable, lasting coverage on that uneven section of her skin.  This product didn't cake up even though that area was peeling from a prescription cream.

My mother is not one that wears a lot of makeup.  But this product is definitely one she happily intends to keep wearing from now on.  If you have some heavy duty imperfections and concealer isn't up to the task, I sincerely hope you try Bye Bye Redness.

Bye Bye Redness retails for $32 on IT Cosmetics website.  You can also find these at QVC and QVC.com, Ulta Beauty, and the Shopping Channel and shoppingchannel.com.
