Review: L’Occitane en Provence’s NEW Roses et Reines Fragrance Line Is a Joy to Behold!

One of the sexiest new floral scents of summer happens to come from L’Occitane en Provence’s tribute to roses this year with Roses et Reines. The new take on their traditional line is a beautiful rendition by perfumer, Karine Dubreuil with a fresher rose fragrance that is moderately sweet and yet bright and velvety, making it chic and lavishly feminine.

Roses et Reines Eau de Toilette ($50) opens with attention-getting notes of sparkling bergamot and currant leaves. Soon rose surfaces through those initial luminous notes from pairings of Turkish, Bulgarian, Moroccan, and Grasse roses, adding a dewy floral sweetness that is delicate and unmistakably romantic in the heart. 

When paired with the notes of raspberry and blackberry that essence of rose becomes velvety and permeates through the layers, giving the fragrance even more of a warm appeal that is captivating and lusciously ripe from those berry juices dripping over the roses.

As the fragrance dries down, the notes in the base invite seduction with white cedar, heliotrope and musk. Wearing it will make you feel lavishly feminine and irresistible!

Review--L’Occitane en Provence’s Frisson de Verveine Eau de Toilette + Ice Gel for Legs and Feet

It’s that time of year when L’Occitane en Provence releases a new Verbena fragrance to tempt us with. Frisson de Verveine Eau de Toilette ($55) that I got to sample is a sparkling fresh green citrus that is a perfect expression of summer in its breezy blend of dewy freshness.

The fragrance opens sparkling and pulsing with energy from top notes of lemon and bergamot.  It is this bright burst of freshness that awakens the senses until it further develops in the heart.

With verbena and just enough cucumber, the scent turns cooler and breezier somehow. The initial bolder freshness is curbed nicely as if the notes are flowing with an aquatic feel, only to get stirred up from the water to make it with more of this uplifting, refreshing sort of alluring appeal.

As it dries down, the hint of woods and musk give it a subtle dose of sexiness that makes L’Occitane en Provence’s Frisson de Verveine an ideal pick for boosting your mood and attitude this summer.

How I Make the Most of Summer–L’Occitane en Provence Style! (Review)

Vitoria Regia (Day) Shower Gel

Summer is the time that you show more skin than other seasons.  Therefore, you need to take more care and adapt your beauty routine so that every inch of you is as beautiful as can be.  Let me share a few of my favorite products from L’Occitane en Provence that can definitely solve those special needs so you can make the most out of your summer also!

Ever since I reviewed the Bresil Collection, I have fallen in love with the deliciously exotic green, aquatic floral scent of Vitoria Regia.  Every time I suds up with this lush smelling Amazonian spawned floral, I allow that bright fragrance to carry me off. Vitoria Regia (Day) Shower Gel ($20) is light and just perfect for its uplighting effect to begin any day.

I have been slathering on L’Occitane en Provence’s award-winning Almond Milk Concentrate ($29.50--$49) after enjoying myself outside in the sun.  With its rich emollients like walnut seed and almond extracts, my skin drinks in this silky cream and feels so much better afterwards.  The scent of this is gentle and won’t clash with fragrance either.

However, when it comes to feet, I can’t recommend their Shea Butter Foot Cream ($28) more highly enough especially this being the sandal season.  This award-winning stuff is a foot miracle in a tube with anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties as well.  Despite how tired your feet can feel after a day in fashionable, but painful shoes, this cream has lavender and arnica as well as shea butter to refresh as it softens them beyond belief.  You’ll be surprised at that extra bit of pep that you’ll find in your step.

Before venturing outdoors, I make it a point to never be without  Angelica UV Shield SPF 40 ($38), another award-winning product.  What I love is how lightweight this multitasking moisturizer with a sun screen feels while it solves that dryness problem at the same time.  And yet, it does more for how it manages to perk up my complexion without using very much from its pump dispenser.

Something else you need to try are products from their Immortelle line.  I have been using the Brightening Water ($28) for my toner for a while.  What I noticed is this product does more than just being able to remove any last reside of grime and makeup.  It also gives a face added luminosity that you have to experience firsthand over time.  Perhaps, it is the bellis perennis extract and vitamin C derivative along with the garden nasturtium extract that helps the complexion get that unreal glow.  I can’t begin to say how the formula works, only that it does!

With deep regret, I must inform you that L’Occitane en Provence will be discontinuing their Eaux de Provence line of fragrances.  Therefore, you might want to stock up on your favorites from this lovely collection while you still can. 

If you love rose fragrances and want something softer for summer, I am confident you would appreciate Eau Ravissante as much as I do.

This sheer fruity-floral draws you in at once the instant its citrus notes of bergamot make contact with that bounty of floral petals. The fresh juices spilling over the floral give the scent a luminous quality.  What occurs in a beautiful rebirth of rose that is extremely clean with an unmistakable tenderness about it.

Once the Damascena rose fully blooms and enters the equation in the heart, this very feminine scent can light up a room with its graceful presence. Wearing Eau Ravissante makes you feel irresistible and happy about yourself at the same time.

As the fragrance dries down in the base with warm amber and sensual musk, there is an undeniable magnetism at work that is unescapable.

This fragrance did retail for $32 for the 1.7 oz. travel size spray and $55 for the 10.1 oz. splash. Now those prices have dropped to $16 for the 1.7 spray and $27.50 for the 10.1 oz. in their LAST CHANCE Eaux de Provence Fragrances page.

Currently topping the charts on the Nuts 4 Stuff new fragrance hit parade is from L’Occitane en Provence with Cerisier Rouge Eau Intense, an enchanting ode to cherries everywhere. This fruity-floral created by talented perfumer, Karine Dubreuil, is so sparkling fresh in a delightful sweet combo of fruits and flowers that it takes the cherry scent in a new direction with just the precise balance of fresh to sweet. 

This fragrance sparkles as it opens with top notes of lemon, orange, and ripe blackcurrant dripping those ripe, sweet juices over the citrus.  The result is a bright and uplifting fruity sweetness, which is an ideal prelude to what follows in the heart.

With notes of raspberry, red cherry and wild lilies of the valley, Cerisier Rouge Eau Intense exudes femininity.  This enchanting heart is where you can lose yourself to romance. You want to abandon yourself to this feeling and run swiftly toward it.  Instead, this fragrance treads softly with ladylike grace and elegance that elevates it among other cherry scents.

As this fragrance dries down in the base, I love how Cerisier Rouge Eau Intense can almost seduce on the spot.  Slowly, it entices with notes of heliotrope, white musk, and olive tree that lend to its carefully orchestrated, sexy appeal.

If you love cherry fragrances, but are bored with ones that are too sweet, too tart, or too floral, then take it from this perfumista, Mary B., Cerisier Rouge Eau Intense is what you should be looking into.  I consider it a clean, red juicy cherry fragrance of sheer magic that I wish was sold in a larger bottle instead of the 1.7 fl.oz. ($50).  Hint, hint, L’Occitane en Provence!

This is a timeless fragrance that is everything a woman wants a man to smell like with its raw sensuality and underlying innate power.   Manly, yet grounded, you can’t help but be drawn to its appeal.

Cade has an aromatic herbal opening with sunny notes of juniper, thyme, and rosemary. The addition of bergamot lends a fresh air to the mix, which is so inviting.

When the heart notes of cedar wood emerge along with ones of pink pepper, the fragrance gains such natural magnetism that you will need to get closer.  You can’t help be attracted to its warmth and smoothness.  Equally so, you are intrigued as well by something you can’t pinpoint.  

There is something about Cade’s laid back male confidence that keeps seducing without trying. By the time the cade wood slowly starts to burn in the base, you feel consumed by that heat and passion until nothing else matters except losing your control to its intoxicating spell.

Cade Eau de Toilette ($55) was a hit with this perfumista.  If you’re looking for an appealing fragrance that doesn’t reek of some heavy blend to be manly, this is a lighter but smooth, herbal and woody scent that, ladies, you need to check out when buying Father’s Day gifts.  

L’Occitane en Provence has three wonderful gift sets featuring this fragrance plus a Limited Edition Box of three Pebble Soaps ($24) with Cade, Verdon (soft with an aquatic feel), and L’Occitan (a nice herbal with lavender).  I highly recommend picking something up from this collection!

L’Occitane en Provence heats up your summer with the launch of their new Au Brésil Collection that just hit stores May 2014.  Since most of us won’t be traveling to the Amazon any time soon, Olivier Baussan has done it for us and recreated three exquisite lines:  Vitória Régia Day Flower, Vitória Régia Night Flower, and Jenipapo that capture the breathtaking exotic splendor of that country through this unique fragrance, sun care, and body products collection, which are ideally suited for summer!

Vitória Régia is a floral-aquatic fragrance that floats with leisurely grace and centers around an Amazonian water lily, which only blooms at night, releasing a perfume so sweet that other flowers would be jealous by such magnificence–and then in a few days it dies.   This precious Victoria Amazonica flower and its blooming cycle is the inspiration behind Vitória Régia Day Flower and the Vitória Régia Night Flower lines.

The Vitória Régia Day Flower Body Lotion that I received is delightfully soft, but fresh as this silky scented emulsion washes over you with its tropical floral magic that also includes the gardenia, the lily of the valley, and Victoria Amazonica in this very feminine fragrance.  The fluid movement of those flowers against the water is soothing and gentile as it develops and lingers with heliotrope, musk, and haunting amber.

L'Occitane's Vitoria Regia Night Flower Eau de Cologne

Just as enticing and softly fresh is Vitória Régia Night Flower Eau de Cologne that will slowly seduce with the magnetic hold this fragrance can exert.  The notes of lime against water hyacinth and Victoria Amazonica lift the freshness of those flowers before plunging you into happy oblivion once the peony emerges.  This fragrance is so romantic and sensual with how those notes tease each other, more so when the musk and sandalwood surface in the base.

Jenipapo is bursting with brightness and energy, almost like Baussan brought back the huge sun itself and found a way to extract it along with that fruit from this Brazilian tree for this line of fragrance, sun care and body products.

Let me fill you in on the fruity-floral fragrance of Jenipapo Oil Roll-On because there is nothing like it because it is almost powered up with how that green and fruity-floral smelling fruit charge up this scent.  Notes of watermelon, pino colada and citrus ground it and keep that intense heat from flaming out of control.

The Au Brésil Collection is not to be missed.  Whatever form from eau de cologne, body lotion, shower gel, soap, to sun care products that you prefer, indulge your spirit and loose yourself in that wild Amazon as I have done because it is sensational place to be for the summer!

Zesty, fruity notes of orange and mandarin, sparkle brightly as the fragrance opens.  You can feel that contagious eager energy ready to explore the world.

As Néroli & Orchidée warms, that excited burst of freshness gracefully calms.  Settled now, this romantic fragrance becomes more uplifting in the heart when notes of neroli and lily of the valley mix with fig milk and peach, washing over it with a velvety, but airy floral sweetness that is irresistible.

The base is deliberately soft and sensuous, tempting with notes of orchids, iris and musk. The effect is so alluring that it can leave you spellbound by its fruity-floral magic.
