Today is a special day to extend or receive some extra love to mothers everywhere.  After all, think of all that we put them through growing up.  Yet, they persevered through some of our craziness of youth shows how exceptional mothers really are.  

Therefore, wherever you are, I hope that you remember to do something nice for your mother.  If she's still with you, returning that can be as simple as a phone call, a visit, taking her to dinner or cooking one for her along with a beautiful cake.  

Happy Mother’s Day!  I will see you tomorrow when Nuts 4 Stuff returns to normal operation because I too am celebrating.

If You’re Planning to Give Her Flowers This Mother’s Day, Make Sure She Knows How to Make Them Last!

Everyone loves fresh flowers for their beauty and scent.  Perhaps, you were thinking of surprising that special woman with a bouquet this Mother’s Day to make her smile.  If so, let me share some valuable tips in order for her to enjoy them as long as possible.

Fresh flowers have a magic about them that always brightens a mood.

Once those fresh flowers are immersed in water, they start growing bacteria. To slow this cycle down, remember to remove lower leaves.

You also need to change the water in the vase daily. The ideal temperature for flowers is just warm, not hot or cold that can shock them. Doing so also will help keep the fresh flowers healthier from contamination due to any plant droppings in the water. 

Another helpful tip is making sure to trim off the immersed stems every other day.  You can cut up to an inch without harming them.

The water isn’t the only place bacteria can linger.  It’s just as important to properly disinfect the vase holding your fresh flowers at least twice a week.  Wash it out with some dish detergent and then rinse in a solution of water with a few drops of bleach.  You will be surprised at how much longer time your flowers will get in their clean home.

To preserve roses, you can drop an aspirin in the water to keep them going.  Tulips appreciate a penny in their water, but what works better are what florists use–-a floral preservative.  You can find a floral preservative at nurseries or your local florist.

Something else that you may not have thought about is where you keep your flowers displayed.  You don’t want them on a table or area to close to where a fruit bowl may be.  The reason this is not a good idea is because when fruit ripens, it discharges ethylene gas that takes a destructive toll on fresh flowers.

Finally, if you get fresh flowers and don’t plan to be around them for a while, you could try storing them in your refrigerator. Then again, you might not have room, you could also try leaving them in a draft-free and cool, dark spot.

Hopefully, this bit of floral care will help you get more days of pleasure from those beautiful fresh flowers that will be arriving than before!

This very feminine heart is where you appreciate how the white floral beauty of jasmine and green tea meets.  Those elements combined  to the citrus lighten the scent with a sheer radiance to the sweet floral against a bed of green tea to make this essence soft and yet inviting.

The base notes are slightly sensual without being pretentious with notes of thyme and cedar to keep it wonderfully grounded while haunting with an alluring softness that beckons like an urgent whisper.

I was delighted to hear that Lisa Hoffman Beauty expanded their scented jewelry with the new Swarovski ELEMENTS Pearl Collection to house her exquisite fragrances.  When asked if I cared to review one of those dazzling bracelets the reason I was thrilled was because the heart-shaped filigree charm dangling from those lustrous seven inches of pearly beads are not only gorgeous to dress up your wrist, but able to hold more of her captivating fragrance beads!

Deciding on one of the five available fragrance choices was difficult since I do adore them all.  Nonetheless, I went with Tunisian Neroli, a bubbling fruity-floral with gardenia and fresh neroli warmed elegantly with golden amber, buchu leaf, and orange nectar.  This scent embodies everything feminine and romantic with style and sophistication. 

Wearing scented jewelry is another beautiful expression of how you present yourself to the world.  After all, women can never have enough jewelry.  

This collection comes in either Crystal Creamrose with Gold-Plating or Crystal White with Oxidized Silver-Plating.  I chose the gold.  Packed inside is a small pot with fragrance beads to keep that magic alive.

This bracelet is stunning, shimmering with that line of 8mm Swarovski ELEMENTS Pearls, on your wrist.  I loved how the scent moved with me and circulated, especially with my habit of talking with my hands.

Ancient legend has it there once was a fairy of such extraordinary beauty that the gods out of jealousy turned Paeonia into a peony flower, locking her magnificence forever into countless intoxicating petals.  Her gentle essence remained trapped through the ages-- that is until May 2010 when L'Occitane en Provence with the help of garden expert, Jean-Luc Riviere, helped release Paeonia from bondage through the fresh floral and green notes of their haunting Pivoine fragrance.

How L'Occitane managed to seduce Paeonia to delve into their bottles and share her unforgettable peony loveliness is a well-guarded secret.  Nonetheless, Pivoine Flora Eau de Toilette is so much more than a typical floral thanks to how well rounded the scent is with an abundance of lively green for balance.

Though a bit heady at the start, the top notes of bergamot and grapefruit light the sparkling path to subdue her unmeasured beauty of the peony as she magically moves upward. 

The delicate heart is full of her warmth and love, flaying her fairy wings in the green leaves and the blooming bouquets of peony and rose as she celebrates her freedom.  Joyful to be back in nature, she flies singing a sweet romantic song admiring the breathtaking world around her.

If you haven't ever experienced some divine delight that came out of this small workshop perfumery of elizabethW, then you haven't been living.  This San Francisco treasure of a company designs and handcrafts their own natural perfumes, bath and body care, hand care, and fragrances for the home in small batches and with an abundance of love in everything they turn out like Magnolia and Leaves perfumes and matching body creams that I happily indulged in for this review and giveaway.

elizabethW's version of Magnolia Eau de Parfum is serenely beautiful and romantic.  Imagine yourself surrounded by those huge white blossoms releasing their sweetness into the warm air like nectar that come to life every spring in the South.  This is a graceful, delicate floral with a brush of lemon against those luscious magnolia petals that you will want to lose yourself in.  As you weave through this heavenly maze, you detect mimosa and gardenia, adding joy and elegance as you stay on that fragrant path.  You might even be tempted to dress with lots of ruffles and lace because this is very feminine like something you would expect Scarlet O'Hara to wear as she flirted with her fan to reign like a queen over her male admirers.  In keeping gentile, Magnolia slowly warms with saffron and sandalwood to make this richly seductive as well. 

elizabethW Leaves Perfume and Body Cream

Leaves Eau de Parfum is truly exquisite and unlike anything you might imagine.  This has soft woods combined with amber and top notes of green that is fresh and yet sensual with the way this perfume develops and touches you like a considerate lover.  

If the perfume was not enough to gratify my senses, then I always had the option of pampering myself with the matching elizabethW Magnolia or Leaves Body Cream.  Either fragrant formula has 7% Shea Butter and nourishing botanicals of ginseng, ivy, cucumber, and comfrey.  The Magnolia scented cream was one I used first and loved how rich and thick it was without leaving any greasy feeling only a trail of floral silkiness behind on my arms.  I coveted the Leaves version just as much when I tried some of that as well.

Halle Pure Orchid by Halle Berry is a sweet floral-fruity rush of pleasure that was created by perfumers, Rodrigo Flores-Roux and Christophe Raynaud in 2010.  This fragrance will color your senses with purple yummy delight when floral meets fruit for a happy marriage of orchid and blackberry.

Those that hate an overly sweet fragrance need not worry about Halle Pure Orchid.  This romantic scent opens with papaya, cactus flower, and amalfi lemon for an exotic tropical sweetness with a hint of freshness that gives this scent sparkle.  The combination is happy, almost glowing as it greets you.

As the heart ripens with blackberry competing with orchid and star anise,  the original floral sweetness takes on more on a gourmand feeling.   The scent becomes delicious, serving the wearer up like a fruity-floral treat to be enjoyed.

The dry down is deliberately soft and  warm.  Halle Pure Orchid takes it time to expertly seduce with the patchouli tamed by the tonka bean and sequoia to give it an undeniable allure and island flavor that will mesmerize those caught up in its radius.

If you happen to be a big fan of fruity-floral fragrances, then I definitely recommend checking this one out for you or as a wonderful Mother's Day gift, especially if you adore that purple lusciousness that only blackberries deliver.

This fragrance is a fruity-floral gourmand to make you smell as luscious and tempting as sweet juicy fruit and yet fresh and beautifully romantic with opening notes of pear, black currant, raspberry, and pink grapefruit.  At the same time, you'll feel as if you're vacationing in an island paradise surrounded by exotic floral beauty that delightfully lingers on your skin and hair.

Think of yourself in a skimpy bikini sipping on a tall cool tropical drink with a fragrant orchid or jasmine in your hair while you soak up some sun--and male attention before jumping back into the resort's pool.  

The water is warm, but quickly heats more with you in it once the heart fully blooms with that jasmine, orchid, and vanilla.

If you want to experience a transformation, then you need some serious working skin care.   I had the opportunity to review some exciting anti-aging products with the four product  Time Rewind System from Dr. Loretta Skin Care that I know you will be eager to hear more about.

Every product this leading Florida dermatologist created has proven science behind it for maximum performance, which intrigued me as I pulled out the Moisture Cleanse, Age Change Face, Age Change Eye, and Essential Boost that came in this tote bag.

I started with the Vitamin B5 enriched Moisture Cleanse that also has chamomile and those amazing algae peptides that I love so much for what they can do to perk up a complexion.  This was great for washing away dirt and makeup while rinsing off with water.  My skin felt wonderfully hydrated without any greasy residue.

The Age Change Face was my new day antioxidant moisturizer.   This product has three different collagen peptides to help fill in fine lines and repair those wrinkles with cell regeneration properties that can carry deliver oxygen  while  also protecting from environmental toxins.  I haven't used this product very long, but I can say my skin is happy using it.  This moisturizer is fast absorbing and already seems to be lightening a small mark I have.  

The Age Change Eye that I have been applying is protective with anti-aging benefits. This is another helpful eye gel with Tara Tree and antioxidant properties that felt soothing and managed de-puffing my allergy eyes in the morning.  

The last product that needed evaluating was the Essential Boost.   I saved this serum for nights and must admit that even in the short span of my use that my complexion looks smoother and more glowing overall.  

As I stated, I only started using Dr. Loretta's regime.  But I have to admit that with every application I am witnessing a gradual improvement at a time.  I look forward to continuing with this Time Rewind System since I am also confident with what I saw so far that it will please me to no ends by the time I finish with those four bottles!

Most can only dream of the glamorous world of trend-setting celebrity, beautiful  Kim Kardashian.  However, you experience a bit of that magic in her original perfume with perfumer, Claude Dir that launched in 2009.  This is a sophisticated white floral that will richly drape you in unmatched elegance that will rise you up like a star, feeling confident and chic. 

This exquisite fragrance opens sparkling fresh with mandarin immersed in a bouquet of honeysuckle and orange blossom to keep it young and luminous. 

Once the heart comes into its own, pink jasmine, gardenia, and tuberose petals give it a lush romantic hold along with spices that showers you in its endless beauty.  The exotic white floral notes rein supremely over this fragrant garden.  As it does, the lemony crispness of the mandarin clip away that excess sweetness for a perfect, delicate balance.

The dry down in this base is ever so soft with pale woods of the gentle Tonka, jacaranda, and sandalwood surrounded by vanilla orchid and creamy musk for tasteful seduction.  This is sexy control but done with ladylike style for the allure Kim Kardashian's Signature Perfume  can have.

Often celebrity fragrances fail to get the respect they deserve.  This should not be the case for this fragrance.  I honestly think it's gorgeous and love wearing it.  

If you love a white floral and want something classy and upbeat, then I know you would be crazy about Kim Kardashian Signature Perfume as well.  This would make the perfect Mother's Day gift to spread some of that happiness or just to splurge on yourself so do get some!

True is the second fragrance from superstar celebrity, Faith Hill on behalf of Coty Beauty.  And just like the gorgeous country singer, this fresh floral scent captures the casual side of her utterly feminine and effervescent personality to play a beautiful melody once it hits the air.

Like the name itself, True opens with clean burst of Japanese yuzu keeping the sweet song of the floral pure and softly balanced against the watery notes with a delicate infusion of sheer mimosa, white lily, and gardenia for romance.  

As the fragrance warms, True reveals a natural sensuality that tempts with musk, sandalwood and precious woods the more it dries down. This is subtle seduction at its best!

Those that love a light floral will loose themselves to the serene loveliness of this aquatic floating feeling of this fragrance with the inner peace that True radiates.  So if you're still undecided about an ideal fragrance to gift your Mother with for this Mother's Day, then I know she would be pleased with anything from the True line like the 1.7 oz. Eau de Toilette Spray that I reviewed.

What is it about the right accessory that can completely change an outfit?  A great pair of shoes or the perfect handbag can add style as well as function to really shake things up fashion wise like the beautiful selection of reasonably priced handbags from Bananas for Handbags.

I was sent the Mackenzie Shoulder Bag in black.  As I examined this bag and its construction, I thought it looked much more expensive than their selling price of $55.95.  This is a very spacious faux leather type of bag (17" x 10.5" x 6.5") that has a deep compartment that you can easily stuff a sweater with wonderful room, an interior wall pocket with a zipper and a cell phone holder complete with secure zippered closure.  What else I loved about this bag was changeable handles that it came with that gives me the freedom to carry it in my hands instead of on the shoulder and was a comfortable lighter weight.

I was so impressed with the quality of my bag that I wanted to see what their other bags were like and the prices.  And let me tell you what I found out in my exploration of their website will please you too.  Wow, Bananas for Handbags knows how to please us, ladies.  They had everything from gorgeous animal print bags, business bags, clutches/evening bags, crossbody bags, hobo bags, satchels, shoulder bags, tote bags, and even backpacks to suit all our womanly whims!

Are you still confused about what would be a good gift to buy Mom  this Mother's Day or something for yourself?  I highly recommend a visit to Bananas for Handbags because you'll find a nice handbag at a very affordable price.  I know I intend to go back!

This is the perfect, light floral fragrance for anyone with need of an escape and a mood lifter. Those wisteria blossoms are enhanced with gardenia and ylang ylang blossoms to add to that romantic feeling and accented with fresh fruity notes of mandarin and nashi pears for more sparkle.  A hint of airy musk for gentle seduction emerges once it dries down to make this simply impossible to resist.

Sweeter still, Crabtree & Evelyn's Wisteria Eau de Toilette that I was sent for this review and giveaway is free of parabens, phthalates, mineral oil, or propylene glycol.  

I can't say enough of how much I love this bright fragrance and know you would agree with me once you get a whiff for yourself.
