Thymes Jade Matcha  Rollerball Fragrance Set

Luckily for perfumistas everywhere, Thymes came out with a few new fragrances to their Studio Collection. The Tiare Monoi Whipped Body Cream that I reviewed earlier is a floral that is enchanting.  Today, I want to give you my take on their fresh scent of Jade Matcha, which arrived in the Petite Lotion and Cologne Rollerball Set for this review and giveaway.

The fragrance has a light and juicy burst of freshness as it opens with notes of bergamont and tangy lemongrass.  Yet, you can detect that green, tea-like aroma within, slowly filtering through from the Matcha tea, changing was what formerly fresh to aromatic.  

The longer this scent develops, the more the sugarcane warms with that tea, making the fragrance evolve again. 

As this fragrance dries down in the base, it is undergoing another exquisite transformation, becoming creamier and infused with hints of spice. There is a mysterious element brewing as the notes mingle with the tonka bean that gives Jade Matcha a more pronounced aroma of rich opulence that is beautifully refined in its composition.

This is a sophisticated take on a fresh scent that lasts wonderfully when worn for hours, especially if you layer it with the matching lotion.

Why Thymes ever got rid of their Green Tea Cologne is a mystery to me. This crisp, fresh green floral is so soft and feminine that it is hard to imagine why the company ever felt the need to deny us this pleasure. Fortunately, this fragrance is back in their collection!
 

The fragrance opens with a brisk rush of green tea that soon meets up with Moroccan rose that curbs the crispness, lightening it to a sheerer scent, more green than floral. 

As the scent warms in the heart, notes of honey and spices add a delectable sweetness to the mix that gives it an interesting depth. Those warm and spicy notes make for an irresistible soft and sensual fragrance.

Undeniably earthy and seductive, the base is powdery and exquisitely alluring with earthy notes of warm amber, cedarwood, oak, and teak. 

This is a charming fragrance that I know would appeal to anyone, especially those that love green scents. With its lightness, I think Green Tea Cologne would be appropriate for day or night.

Thymes Classics Ginger Milk Cologne Review

Due to popular demand, Thymes brought back several of their discontinued fragrances in their Classics line.  Ginger Milk was one of the four that returned to this collection that also saw the return of Fig Leaf & Cassis, Sleep Well, and Green Tea.  Though I missed the opportunity to try this delicate citrus fragrance laced with spice when it first arrived on the market, I can see why the company had to do the right thing and bring it back once I got a whiff of this cologne.

With the way its uplifting notes of ginger played with the lime as the fragrance opened and later tangled with the zesty tamarind notes in the heart, this perfumista was immediately drawn into its intriguing, modern aroma.  

The artful combination gives this haunting mix a lightness to the spice and tangy citrus that is as uniquely different and precious as a beautiful snowflake--except this one does not melt as it warms like its counterpart. Instead the well-chosen notes add an element of comfort to this lovely, refreshing puzzle with the graceful hold this feminine fragrance exerts. 

As the fragrance dries down, it becomes deliciously sheer and enticing with creamy vanilla, cucumber and amberette seed, weaving a seductive spell that you can't let go of.

If what I'm describing sounds like your type of fragrance, I definitely recommend visiting Thymes.  The 3.25 oz. Ginger Milk Cologne retails for $60.  Also products in the collection include Bath & Shower Gel ($25), Body Lotion ($33), and Home Fragrance Mist ($17).

Fig Leaf & Cassis is one of the four scented lines brought back by popular demand by Thymes and reissued as Thymes Classics.  Though I never tried it previously, I got a chance to see what made this complex gourmand so appealing when I was sent the Bath & Body Gel to experience.

Imagine bathing with a liberating scent that breaks down your inhibitions and brings out your most sensual self as you luxuriate in that tub--only the walls of your bathroom are no longer there along with your tub.  Instead, you're inhaling that fresh green aroma of verdant fig leaves, sweet cassis, juniper berries with tangy mandarin, feeling like your tub is suddenly plunged in the middle of some tropical paradise where lush green foliage, ripe fruits and exotic woods are in the warm, balmy air.  The longer you bask in that sun and those cypress notes emerge, the more your worries seem to travel, almost as far away as this secret place.

What started as a fresh green scent does meld into a warm sweet, woody scent that is clean and simple, but unavoidably sexy with the power to lift your spirits.  Now that I sampled this scent, I am hooked.  I need to try the Fig Leaf & Cassis Cologne next to compare the composition of the scent in that form.

Delight Your Senses With Delicate Floral Beauty--Meet Temple Tree Jasmine Cologne NEW From Thymes! (Review)

Summer is a great time to stop wearing heavier fragrances in favor of lighter ones.  Those winter scents with lots of spice and musk can be overpowering and intensified by body heat and humidity in hot weather. Therefore, it is the perfect time to shop for a lighter fragrance that will compliment that change in your body chemistry to keep you making a memorable impression.  

A gorgeous choice is the new Temple Tree Jasmine Cologne that recently made an appearance this Spring 2013 from Thymes, the creative Minneapolis collective that I was sent for this review for the way it can light up your mood with its  tropical floral beauty.

Initially, the scent is a rush of floral sweetness from heady Temple Tree blossoms and jasmine sambac stealing all the glory.  You drift among those intoxicating flowers until you detect the honeysuckle and ylang-ylang softening the mix to better ground you. 

Soon elegant notes of damask rose combined with a splash of coconut milk ooze femininity for a delicious creamy softness to the floral.  So ladylike and delicate, the fragrance floats with airy tropical beauty that is romantic and hard to resist.

Those that love a  jasmine floral would especially find the Temple Tree Jasmine collection quite appealing.  Nonetheless,  I think anyone that prefers a gentle floral fragrance that has a lovely sweetness to its composition would also adore this graceful scent.

I do suggest checking out this fabulous new Thymes Temple Tree Jasmine collection because it is a wonderful addition to summer.  Products start at $13 for the soap and range up to $33 for the 1.7 oz. cologne. 

I Can Flaunt Pretty Hands Again! Thymes Mandarin Coriander Hard-Working Hand Cream (Review)

Hands get a lot of abuse.  However, a pretty pair of hands can be your calling card.  After all, they are the next thing noticed after your face.  Consequently, you need to keep them as soft and smooth as possible to make the best impression.  

I am constantly using different hand creams and lotions because my hands get excessively dry, despite wearing gloves when cleaning or doing dishes.  Therefore, I was eager to work with Thymes on testing their Mandarin Coriander Hard-Working Hand Cream. 

For some strange reason, my hands have been lightly peeling lately.  I can't understand why my skin is so delicate, but I was glad when this new hand cream arrived from the creative Minneapolis collective for this review. 

Upon breaking that inner seal, I was greeted to a wonderful fresh, but a herbal aroma that seeped out to my delight due to the cold-pressed mandarin oil, oranges and coriander.  The product itself is a thick cream in a tube that you don't need very much of to do your hands.  The feeling of rubbing this cream into your skin is soothing and intensely moisturizing with their concentrated formula of Shea butter, sunflower seed oil and pro-vitamin B5.  I never experienced any stickiness or overly greasy feel as some hand creams can leave either, which was great, especially since I have lots of typing to always do.

The best part about this hand cream is it adheres well and seems to protect your hands better with an invisible barrier from moisture when washing.   This allowed my hands more of a fighting chance to get them normalized.

My peeling did not go away with just one application or anything, but it did help fix them in fewer applications than I thought.  Hooray!

The 2.5 oz. tube retails for $17.  You need to check Thymes and their Mandarin Coriander Hard-Working Hand Cream out because it makes hands happy!

Fragrance to Soothe Your Soul! Thymes Azur Body Water Review

Are you the type mainly attracted to breezy ocean fragrances?  If so, then Thymes Azur Body Water may just fit the bill to carry you off from the rigors of your day. With its special restorative blend of scientifically formulated ingredients of sea herbs, minerals, and vitamins, this light marine fragrance might be your ticket to a relaxing ocean voyage from the comfort of your home.

Unlike Naia Cologne, another reviving marine type scent that I had previously reviewed from the creative Minneapolis collective known as Thymes, the Azur Body Water has less of a floral influence.   Due to the white tea to dilute the water lily and jasmine, this beautiful fragrance also has a watery floral delicateness but only with a hint of those flowers.  However, once the crisp bergamot and influx of green from herbs emerge, this scent becomes even fresher somehow than the Naia. 

When you detect those notes of amber, vanilla, and musk, this fragrance leaves you with a comforting peacefulness to those watery notes, almost like you are inhaling the combined essences of nature's flowers, green  grasses, and musk, drifting in from the sea.  This has a clean and calming quality that does seem to help put you in a better state of mind.

I highly recommend the Azur fragrance line to anyone that is looking for a soft marine scent that is easy to wear while being clean and so refreshing.  Such gentleness in this watery floral is especially wonderful to wear to work without being intrusive and overpowering to others.  At the same time, this may be just the prescription for staying grounded and relaxed throughout normal stresses of  your day.

Thymes Olive Leaf Cologne Review

Warm and woodsy with a hint of pepper, this unisex Olive Leaf Cologne by Thymes, will stir your senses with its earthy appeal.  Classified as an aromatic fragrance, it has a lightness to its blend of herbs, woods, and floral that is pure and intriguing in its simplicity.  

Unpretentious and rooted to nature, you immediately are drawn to the fresh mix of rosemary, laurel leaf and crisp balsam hidden in this sunny blend delicately sweetened with lavender and patchouli.  There is a warmth about this fragrance  once the rosewood kicks in to fill a heart with joy.

Though some people may think this is a more manly fragrance than a feminine one, I definitely disagree because its clean, soft woodsy essence has a fabulous smell on me.   Honestly, the Olive Leaf Cologne ranks at the top of my Thymes favorite list from the ones I tried already. 

As with all fragrances, you need to remember that scents vary from one individual to another, depending on your own body chemistry.   A good example is that timeless classic of Shalimar by Guerlain. I adore that spicy fragrance, however, not on me.   When my mother wears this beautiful perfume, it smells heavenly like an angel descended to this plane.   Unfortunately, I found that same smell reeks once it heats against  my skin.

Something you may want to try is to use a small spritz in a few of your pulse spots instead of spraying more vigorously.  Applying in that fashion will give you just enough of the fragrance without settling heavily in one spot.

Another observation that I want to share is how long this particular cologne lasts once I timed it.  I tested it at 6:50 P.M. and found it lingered with soft traces against my wrist 4:53 A.M. the next morning.  Of all the Thymes colognes that I have tested, I think this has the longest lasting staying power as well.  

With all sincerity, I think if you're tired of heavy scents and want something clean, warm, and gently sweet, I hope you try this remarkable cologne or anything from the Olive Leaf collection.  A 1.8 oz. cologne sells for $33.00.

The thought of a eucalyptus in a fragrance baffled me at first.  Since it does possess such a strong aroma, I was curious how Thymes would work it into cologne or if I would even find it all that appealing when I received a bottle to review.  Nonetheless, I must confess this green fragrance is unlike anything you might have imagined with its extraordinary  beauty that awakens your senses like a fresh breeze of the outdoors.

Simply put, Thymes Eucalyptus opens with stimulating freshness of the eucalyptus that is gently subdued by sparkling notes of Italian lemon, orange, and bergamot for such an uplifting rush of energy.  One whiff of this  exhilarating scent and you'll feel invigorated and at the top of your game for whatever your day is like.

Yet, this is an intricate fragrance.  Once those green floral notes along with lemongrass in the heart kick in for warmth and add to that unexpected combination, the scent develops a light romantic sweetness to make most of that clean zing.

Still, there are even more surprises ahead.  The longer that lemongrass seems to float against a herbaceous bed of rosewood and fir, the more softly seductive this unique scent becomes. 

This is an enchanting and sexy mix that you honestly need to experience firsthand to understand its true appeal.  If you're like me, then I think you will be pulled in by its exciting allure.  Do pick some up!

An Aquatic Floral Escape: Thymes Naia Cologne Review

Your day can be stressful.  However, I found a great way to experience a beautiful sense of calm thanks to Thymes, the creative collaborative in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  You see I just discovered the comforting magic of their Naia Cologne and it is a delightful escape. 

Though it is classified as a green scent, I think of Naia as more of an aquatic floral fragrance as well.  With tart yazu, lychee, and crisp notes from lemon pulp, the scent opens with sparkling freshness before it meets up with watery notes.  The water lily, cyclamen and bamboo leaves add a tranquil element to this mix to allow this scent to soften and leisurely drift from that floral influence.  

As the herbs appear more prominently, the fragrance takes on an energizing green note to that aquatic floral, uplifting the scent while keeping it light.  

When the Hinoki wood and sheer musk finally emerge, this scent warms in an amazing way to make it exceptionally graceful and feminine.

If you hate overpowering fragrances, but love a light floral with watery and green notes, you would cherish this one.  

To me, the fragrance of Naia is bright, clean, and full of joy that is so easy to wear, especially when you need a lift and pleasant fragrance escape to soothe your soul.

Being a perfumista, I have a deep appreciation for the beauty of fragrances and the feelings they can evoke.  Thymes, the creative collaborative in Minneapolis, Minnesota, shares this same passion from their endless quest to create fragrances that can move you through their unique line of scented products from perfumes, lotions, home fragrances, bath washes, bubble baths, candles to colognes.

One fragrance that I recently was sent  to review caught my attention in particular for how it slowly unfolds to taunt and seductively bloom with its exotic dark allure.   Moonflower Cologne Spray is the mysterious and haunting woody-floral you might want to take a close look at. 

Sensual and yet sultry, this scent can mesmerize those caught up in its spell practically on the spot with delicate floral and sugar quince, warming against a tempting backdrop of cinnamon, clove, myrtle leaves until that spicy-sweetness smolders with rich mahogany, dark amber and warm cognac to leave a lasting, glimmering impression.  

Those that hate heavy spicy scents would love the undeniable, sophisticated softness of Moonflower Cologne. 

In my opinion, this fragrance would make a wonderful holiday gift especially for those seeking a new oriental type of scent that is elegant as well as light and romantic. 

Do pick a bottle up and check the entire Moonflower collection for other tempting scented options because once you experience it, you will fall in love with this fragrance just as much as I did!

Today, I want to tell you about their Lavender Cologne Spray.  Unlike other lavender fragrances, Thymes created an aromatic version that is simply put, heavenly with the graceful softness from rosewood, clary sage, and violet leaf to balance the stronger scented lavender.  The result of this artful composition is a powdery pure floral fragrance that possesses a hint of spice that is extremely comforting as well as feminine to wear.

If you're looking for gorgeous light floral that will warm your heart without overpowering with lavender, you really should try Thymes Lavender Cologne Spray.  Their version is as gentle and innocent to your senses as a baby's sweet touch.  I definitely recommend this fragrance as a holiday gift.  I promise this one will fill that special someone with bliss.

Assorted Thymes fragrance and skin care to delight the senses

There is something special about the power of fragrance.  Wearing certain ones can stir a feeling almost like aromatherapy, bring back a memory, or just make you feel completely groomed.  Thymes, the creative collaborative in Minneapolis, Minnesota, understands that feeling and is helping transform daily lives through their world of fragrance products to inspire, unite and captivate us. Recently, I was sent six of their products to review. 

The first thing I explored was the Indigenous Tamarind Lycee Aromatic Votive.  This candle is a refreshing blend of white grapefruit, tamarind, lychee blossom, and a tad of yuzu, accented with aromatic ginger and coconut milk that smelled incredible through the box.  The scent was intensified and lovelier out of that box!

The second product I tried was their Indigenous Malagasy Vanille Home Fragrance Spray, an oriental with vanilla scent that permeated sweetly through my home.  Though the weight of the spray I was sent seemed on the light side, unless PR sent me a used sample since this is to be discontinued. 

The third product I tried was their Agave Nectar Cologne Spray.  This was a delightful, fruity citrus fragrance of agave nectar with red grapefruit, guave and lemon blossom, which was very fresh and light.  The only fault with this product was I wished it could have come in a stronger form of eau de toilette or perfume so it would last longer. 

I tried their matching Agave Nectar Hand Lotion in a convenient pump bottle.  This lotion smelled also of citrus and as pretty as the cologne while soothing my hands with non-greasy moisture from jojoba oil, shea butter and vitamin E.

Kimona Rose fragrance

I was curious about the Kimono Rose fragrance since I heard the name hardly suited this scent.  I got to compare this cologne against their other best-selling rose fragrance, Goldleaf.   Although I tend to agree rose was not dominant, however, it was a soft modern floral from cassis, white peony and jasmine, which was exquisite also just in a different, unexpected fresh way from the addition of clementine.

Gold Leaf eau de parfum

In my opinion, I saved the most beautiful Thymes product for last.  I received their Goldleaf Eau De Parfum and was bewitched by the combination of jasmine, rose, hyacinth, and lily of the valley in this romantic floral that had staying power and is as timeless as it is a classic to be cherished.
