This beauty may be blaming herself when there could be other reasons those pounds linger.

Following a diet can be rough.  This is especially true when you keep checking the scale and that number doesn’t seem to move, leaving you frustrated and confused since you are doing all the right things.  Though as disciplined as you might be, there are others factors that may be to blame.

Here's Some Realistic, Doable Dieting Advice That Can Help You Lose Weight!

Losing weight can be a challenge, but it is easier with this strategy that worked for me.

Dieting is tough business.  We all start out determined that this time we will succeed and stay on track.  No one expects that once your weight plateaus that you might blame the diet or just stray off the course due to food boredom.  However, I want to share some useful dieting pointers that worked for me.

Though you have a set number of pounds to lose, jumping on the scale every morning may not be the best idea.  When that number on the scale doesn’t move as fast as you were hoping, this can leave to frustration. Therefore, weigh yourself weekly at the same time allows how your efforts are really working instead of disappointment when that number doesn’t move fast enough.

Deceiving Health Foods That Can Sabotage Your Dieting Efforts!

Shopping cart in grocery store.jpeg
Rethinking your food choices is the first step to losing weight.

This is the time of year many will be attempting to shed that accumulated winter weight. If you’re one of us, then you may want to rethink your food choices because not all healthy foods are as diet-friendly as you may be led to believe.

A common dieting problem is often in the product’s labeling when you see promises of words such fat-free, sugar-free or salt-free when you shop for groceries. You need to carefully decipher that label of those foods first because they can be misleading.  For example, “fat-free” may have the manufacturer compensating for the missing fat with other ingredients such as an excessive amount of salt or sugar.  The real truth is the FDA allows that product to have 0.5 grams per serving of sugar or fat or less than five calories per serving.

Some Great Tips to Keep Yourself Motivated When Dieting!

Trying to lose weight is never an easy task.  However, there are a few things that I have tried that definitely keeps you focused on your goal–instead of the refrigerator.

Unless you feel sick, you may not feel health is enough of a dieting motivator.  In that case, your body image is often stronger.  What I found helps is to look at yourself naked and keep that picture with you in your mind when you feel that urge to cheat.

Another helpful technique is cutting out  magazine pictures of bodies that you want to look like and attach them to your refrigerator door for inspiration.  You can always hang a photo of your clothed self next to those hard bodes as a reminder of what you are striving for.  I don’t know about you, but it curbs my hunger when I see those perfect bodies smiling from my refrigerator.  My hand just seems to move away from the refrigerator door automatically.

As you begin to lose weight, I found it helps to snap a new picture every week and add it to your refrigerator collage.  This positive change in your ever-changing body strengthens your resolve further every time you see new improvements that take you closer to your ideal body.

This next tip that I am about to share with you may sound totally ridiculous, but I suggest you try it first before dismissing it.  Before your lunch or dinner, try brushing your teeth first.  You might be surprised at how that taste will affect your appetite so you eat less.

I hope you try these tips because they may help you too!

How to Boost Your Body's Metabolism After Holiday Feasting!

If you have been a bit naughty over the holidays from excessive feasting, you are not alone.  This is the time of year many of us will pack on a few extra pounds from overindulging on all those tempting treats.  Instead of letting your scale continue to depress you, you can learn which foods can boost your metabolism to get your body back.

Top on your list should be protein such as skinless chicken, turkey, eggs, beans, fish, and low-fat dairy.  You want those foods in your diet because these take more energy for your body to digest than pasta, potatoes, breads, and other carbohydrates.

Try to acquire a taste for hot red peppers and add them to your recipes.  These have a compound, capsaicin, that has been proven to fire up the metabolism.  Shaking on red pepper flakes in place of salt can spice up taste, help your body burn more fat, and also help you retain less water weight.

You might want to add green and oolong teas to your diet since they have metabolism boosting, catechins.

Another helpful way is to jumpstart your metabolism through ice-cold foods and beverages, which trick the body into burning more energy to offset that cold shock to the system.  For every glass of ice water you drink, you can burn off ten calories without trying.  Drink multiple glasses and that number can add up!

These suggestions are a good place to start.  I hope you try them because they do work, if taken to heart.
