Keune Care Derma Activate Thickening Spray, Absolute Volume Volume Mousse and Satin Oil Oil Milk Review: Taking Hair to New Heights

This is serious professional hair help.

Keune Haircosmetics never ceases to amaze me with the level of quality I discover from using their professional salon products.  Earlier I told you about a few of their new additions to the Care line that I honestly think can help even the worst head of hair.  Because the line is formulated with their special Essential Mineral Complex of zinc, copper, silicum, iron, and magnesium, the hair and scalp are strengthened and nourished.  However, I didn’t get a chance to share the rest until now. 

The Care Satin Oil Oil Milk ($30.00) is a leave-in milky spray that deep conditions with maracuja, baobab and monoi oils for returning moisture and shine.  Using this product dry or on damp hair when it needs help will do the trick without making the hair look greasy, sticky or make your style droop from weight.  I’m torn, which one I love more, this or the Care Vital Nutrition Protein Spray that I reviewed first for serious hair help. 

Another new Care product I tested was their Absolute Volume Volume Mousse ($26.00), which not only increases volume and thickens with liquid keratin and provitamin B5, but also offers heat protection.  My hair did have a healthy gloss without any flatness of my curls for long-lasting style.  

The Keune Care Derma Thickening Spray ($30.00) is a leave-in product that is intended for fine hair that uses wheat proteins and provitamin B5 to strengthen as it pumps up volume.   You probably wonder why I would bother using a thickening spray when I have thick hair.  The answer is because I also have a layered style that could use a boost in places, especially on one side where I have less hair.  

When I specifically targeted that side where I sleep, I did notice the curl did appear thicker in that section.  I didn’t need to use this spray all over because the rest of my head has a lot of hair, but this product does seem to bulk up the hair where needed.  If you have fine hair especially or not too much hair, this is another Keune Care product that can help thicken and strengthen what is on your head.

The other day I introduced you to Beyond Her Blush Beauty Subscription and shared the December 2015 box with you.  Today, I want to fill you in on this company’s current box that is all about achieving fabulous hair with manageable curls all featuring salon products from the world famous hairstylist, aka King of Curls, Curlisto!

Unlike celebrities that have access to their own personal hair stylist at their beckon call, the average woman does not have that luxury.  For most of us, the best our hair looks is when we step out of our hairdresser’s chair.  The next best thing to running to your salon is using the same professional products those stylists use like the new Keune Design hair styling products that I have been playing with since they arrived for this review and giveaway.

Although I have thick hair, I have a layered cut.  This way I can celebrate my curls with products to bring them out as much as I want or opt for a smooth, sleek style just by turning to other ones.  With these six new Keune styling products that I got to try, I can change my style at a snap of a finger and alter my looks. 

With Keune’s Design Volume Powder, I got bigger curls where I needed that kept up with me through my day just by sprinkling a bit of this powder into my hair. However, use this stuff sparingly to get the results you need or your hair could look dirty.

Another hair product that can I relied on heavily this Summer was Keune’s Design Ultra Forte Gel.   This vitamin-enriched product on damp or dry hair insures a strong hold with a shine to it that doesn’t make your hair feel overly sticky or weighed down with product.  This was great when I was going for a sleek, wet look with my hair pushed back through hot, humid weather or keeping my long bangs from falling in my face.  It even has double the sunscreen protection to keep hair protected.   

I have tried root lifting sprays in the past but I have forceful, down growing hair.  Some have worked better than others to give me some lift, but the hair on top of my head has a mind of its own. Keune’s Volumizing Spray surprised me.  First off, the formula is not a liquid but a gel-foam consistency that comes out in a thick line when you apply.  When I laid it in the section that I needed and then began to blow-dry with my round brush, I did manage to get better results with more fullness and height for a longer period compared to the other liquid root lifting sprays that I had used earlier.

Keune’s Molding Paste is a hair product that can help you do a variety of different things with your hair using a little at a time. I loved this product as well for using in my bangs and layers.  It gave me reliable hold and buildable texture with sunscreen protection that you brush and can keep adjusting without making the hair feel disgusting.  

I also experimented with Keune’s Design Mousse Styling Forte.  This is an alcohol-free formula protective formula with jojoba oil that does give plenty of hold.  I didn’t get as much volume as some mousse products that I have used, but I liked the nice sheen my hair had as well as how those strands felt when touching them.  

The final product that I used this time was Keune’s Design Society Forte Hairspray.  I liked the amount of hold that I got.  Though a light hold, this spray maintained my style and allowed my hair movement instead of locking it in place that later could be brushed without losing the style.
