Keep This DIY Body Exfoliator Handy for Making More of Your Summer Beauty!

Bath Towels.jpeg
Warm weather beauty calls for more body exfoliation.

Now is the time that you are going to want to pay particular attention to your body with summer nearly upon us.  After all, summer and bathing suits go hand in hand so make sure your body looks its best with smooth, sexy skin.  Therefore, I have a simple DIY Body Exfoliator for you that might become your summer skin’s new best friend.

My recipe is a gentle way to get rid of dead skin without being overly harsh.  It also softens the skin quite well at the same time.

I hope that you give it a try. You will appreciate  the wonderful benefits it can do, especially for improving the rough skin of elbows.

My DIY Body Exfoliator

one cup of plain table salt
one cup of Epsom salt
1/3 cup of baking soda
large enough piece of muslin to hold the ingredients
a tie or rubber band to secure the filled muslin bag

All you do is cut a square of muslin that is large enough to hold the above three ingredients.

Mix the salt, the Epsom salt, and baking soda together in a container or mixing bowl before pouring into the measured piece of muslin.

Gather the ingredients around the muslin and make a pouch.  Secure your bag with a tie or rubber band.

Once you wet it, you can start exfoliating.

A Wise Sunscreen Choice for Those Highly Allergic to Hair Dyes

If you happen to experience a lot of reactions from different brands of hair coloring products, then the safest bet would be a PABA-free sunscreen.

PABA can create a cross reaction when it meets up with a common ingredient in a lot of permanent hair dyes to cause those sensitive individuals needless grief.  There are so many wonderful PABA-free sunscreen formulations on the market that you don’t have to risk it.

Summer is when I like to switch from heavier formulas of foundation for ones with more lightweight textures to allow my skin to breathe.  Depending on the amount of coverage I need, I rotate between pressed and loose powder mineral foundations along with BB creams for the most part.  However, I found another wonderful natural coverage alternative from Mineral Fusion Natural Brands with their Sheer Tint Foundation.

What I liked about this Sheer Tint Foundation is how fresh my dry skin managed to stay while it evened out my complexion with minimal coverage and natural UV protection from minerals, pomegranate, red tea, white tea, sea kelp, and anti-aging antioxidants to keep skin healthy and radiant.  The formula was gentle and didn't irritate my skin being without fragrance, parabens, artificial colors or talc.

I didn't need to use much of this light mineral foundation either and thought this is ideal for when the horrible heat and humidity kick in when you prefer less on your face since it holds up nicely without melting over time.

The line comes in three shades of Warm, Neutral, and Olive.  The Neutral was the lightest and best match for me.  When I get a little more sun, I think the Warm probably would look better.  The Olive color is a bit darker.

This product does have a dewy finish because this is a moisturizing light foundation.   I do not have any idea of how it will compare for someone with oily skin.  Nonetheless, I liked it a lot and will continue wearing it.

Sheer Tint Foundations retail for $29.99.  Find these products at Mineral Fusion Natural Brands or Whole Foods.

Perlier Lemon Sorbet Crackling Body Water

Have I discovered something exciting to share with you when it comes to summer skin care and suffering through that horrible heat!

Through iFabbo I got to try a product from Perlier with their Lemon Sorbet Crackling Body Water, which is different from what you may be accustomed to using.  Listen up because this product is fun and so delightful to wear while it cools and soothes you with its delicious frothiness so you're as tempting as any fruit sorbet.

During those dog days of summer just imagine how refreshing it would feel to take out a yummy-smelling skin care product from your refrigerator to lavish over your warm skin?  This is how Perlier's Lemon Sorbet Crackling Body Water can help spoil you with its cooling, comforting sensation as it rescues skin with moisture and scent.

The name says body water.  However, this product is far from a wimpy liquid and comes out as a foam that crackles and pops upon contact with your skin.  But give this product a few minutes on your body and it becomes a gel-cream with that energetic burst of citrus scented skin relief.

Doesn't that sound great?  Do try Perlier's Lemon Sorbet Crackling Body Water and prepare to be amazed.  This product retails for $24.95 on HSN.

Lucky you, the company is giving my readers $5 off your first order of #PerlierOnHSN.com when you enter the iFabbo5 coupon code at checkout!

A Cooling Way to Moisturize for Summer Skin Pampering!

refrigerated-skin-care-products-for-summer.jpeg
Refrigerating your skin care in the summer is refreshing and can prolong the life of your products.

Whether you have air conditioning or not, this summer heat can be brutal.  However, if you want a refreshing way to moisturize, then I suggest storing your eye cream, moisturizer, and body lotion in the refrigerator at this time of year.  This cool moisture feels so soothing against your skin.  Trust me, I do this and it seems to wake up your face and body instantly in the most delightful pampering fashion.

Another benefit is that this change of where you temporarily store those creams and lotions help to keep those products, especially organic ones, from possibly breaking down during this heat.  This is only a problem for those without air conditioning.

If you have any soft eye pencils that you intend to sharpen, I recommend storing them in the refrigerator during the summer first as well if you don't run your air conditioner constantly or have one.  The cold will harden them up enough to prevent them breaking when sharpening.

You will thank me once you try this little tip!
