Two Good Scents Sugar Scrubs Review + ($30) Giveaway!–Ends July 28, 2014

Two Good Scents Sugar Scrubs

Being the swimsuit season, the goal is amazing, smooth skin for every exposed inch if you intend to work what you’ve got. After all, you want heads to turn once you hit the pools or beach this summer.  Let me tell you an effective way to do it is with the sugar scrubs that I was sent from Two Good Scents for this review and giveaway.

Two Good Scents is an upcoming beauty company that handcrafts exquisite scented sugar scrubs that can do a body good with how they gently cleanse and exfoliate in their creamy formulations.  I have been pampering myself with Blossom, Amazing, and their newest creation, Pineapple, which smells delicious.

If you are a floral fan like I am, you would be torn between either Blossom and Amazing because they are each enticing in their own right.  Blossom is a fruity-floral that takes a bewitching romantic blend of berries, gardenia petals, frosted jasmine, peach nectar, white amber, coconut musk and creamy vanilla to give it a velvety seductive quality.

Amazing is a fresher oriental floral that has white musk, pink rose blends with sweet citrus and spice to give it a powdery floral beauty that you will also adore.

Their Pineapple is so delectable that you might be nibbled upon since the scent lingers on your skin as well.
I really noticed a difference in their formula’s extra creaminess compared to a few other sugar scrubs that I used in the past.  Too bad this isn’t a touch and smell through type of screen because you wouldn’t believe how extra soft even my elbows feel as I type this or how incredible the smell.

What I described is just a few of the tempting choices where a large 8-oz. jar is just $10. Can you image exfoliating with Lemon Cookie, Cherry Cupcake, Peaches & Cream, Watermelon Taffy, Coconut Cream Pie, Root Beer Float, Coffee Mocha, Rice Flowers & Shea, or Timber, perhaps, in addition to new ones they keep inventing?

Do treat yourself to some bathing pleasure from Two Good Scents because you will fall in love with their sugar scrubs and your new petal-smooth skin!

Thanks to Two Good Scents, one lucky Nuts 4 Stuff reader in the United States or Canada wins their choice of any three Two Good Scents Sugar Scrubs ($30 value)!

Review--L’Occitane en Provence’s Frisson de Verveine Eau de Toilette + Ice Gel for Legs and Feet

Disclaimer: This post is based on a free product provided by a company as a press sample so that I may offer my own opinion, which may be the same or differ from yours.

Frisson de Verveine Eau de Toilette.jpeg
Frisson de Verveine Eau de Toilette

It’s that time of year when L’Occitane en Provence releases a new Verbena fragrance to tempt us with. Frisson de Verveine Eau de Toilette ($55) that I got to sample is a sparkling fresh green citrus that is a perfect expression of summer in its breezy blend of dewy freshness.

The fragrance opens sparkling and pulsing with energy from top notes of lemon and bergamot.  It is this bright burst of freshness that awakens the senses until it further develops in the heart.

With verbena and just enough cucumber, the scent turns cooler and breezier somehow. The initial bolder freshness is curbed nicely as if the notes are flowing with an aquatic feel, only to get stirred up from the water to make it with more of this uplifting, refreshing sort of alluring appeal.

As it dries down, the hint of woods and musk give it a subtle dose of sexiness that makes L’Occitane en Provence’s Frisson de Verveine an ideal pick for boosting your mood and attitude this summer.

Frisson de Verveine Ice Gel for Legs and Feet ($22) is a roll-on tube that I also got to try. This really cools tired muscles and feet when you need energizing to feel like yourself again.

The Frisson de Verveine collection also includes bath salt, body gel, shower gel, hand cream and refreshing mist.  Do check these products out at L’Occitane en Provence because they will make your summer!

NYC New York Color’s City Proof Twistable Intense Lip Colors Review + SWATCHES!

Disclaimer: This post is based on a free product provided by a company as a press sample so that I may offer my own opinion, which may be the same or differ from yours.
From left to right is Riverside Rose, Canal St. Coral, Brooklyn Brown Stone, and ending with South Ferry Berry on the right.on

This Spring 2014 NYC New York Color came out with a line of chubby lip pencils with their City Proof Twistable Intense Lip Colors.  I had wanted to try these since I do think this company makes wonderful lip products at a fraction of the cost of some others.  PR kindly sent along four of the twelve shades for me to work with.

Brooklyn Brown Stone (011) is a peachy-nude, Canal St. Coral (051) is a perky fresh orange, Riverside Rose (020) is a rosy-brown, and South Ferry Berry (040) is a pretty red with some pink through it.

Starting on the left is Riverside Rose, Canal St. Coral, Brooklyn Brown Stone, and ending with South Ferry Berry closest to my wrist on the right.

These crayons glide on and do a nice job of hydrating lips with a sheer, fresh wash of creamy feel good color with a fruity taste.  If you want more intense color, you simply remedy that by layering on more.

What else is great is how you can use them to multitask as blush and match your cheeks to your lip color.  For $2.99 a piece, this product can stretch your beauty dollar even further, especially if you’re hunting for some shade like an orange color for summer that you normally don’t wear to try out a new look.

As to how long to expect them to wear, I put mine on after breakfast where it remained until I ate lunch.  This is not a stain so you will want to reapply.

But to be honest, it is that juicy wash of color that makes these perfect compliments to your beauty wardrobe for summer.  Have you tried NYC New York Color’s City Proof Twistable Intense Lip Colors yet?  Do check these out!

Review + SWATCHES--Pür Minerals NEW Jupiter Ascending Palette With Lip Gloss and Eye Liner ($124 value)

**Disclaimer:  This post has been compensated through a free product (s) or monetary payment.  Opinions are solely mine. All links are "no-follow" links.**

Jupiter Ascending Palette.jpeg
Jupiter Ascending Palette

Take your beauty beyond the stars with exciting new possibilities with Pür Minerals new limited edition Jupiter Ascending Palette ($29), inspired by the upcoming sci-fi movie with Mila Kunis and Channing Tatum. With luminous shimmer and creamy matte shades you’ll look good enough to rule the universe as you recreate Jupiter Jones’ signature out-of-this world look for unbeatable sexy eyes and lips with these six eye shadows, lip gloss, and liquid eye liner in this collection.

The six eye shadow colors are Destiny (cream with just a trace of pale pink), Night Sky (cool gray-black with a shimmer), Jupiter (rosy plum with a shimmer), Caine (golden brown mocha with a shimmer), Majesty (cool brown taupe), and Cosmo (iridescent champagne-white).

Swatches of Jupiter Ascending Palette.jpeg
Starting from my wrist and going down my arm is Destiny, Night Sky, Jupiter, Caine, Majesty and ending with Cosmo.

I liked how effortlessly the shadows blended together when I began expressing myself with those tantalizing colors, which were wonderful for both day and night time.  The silky formula didn’t look powdery either or fade away.  This shadow also wore well through the day without problems just as the Liquid Precision Eye Liner in Outer Space did.

If you’re not an expert with liquid liner, try dotting the product along your lid in tiny dashes for an easier application.  By the time you finish, you will have smoldering dark eyes that are just as dramatic, depending on how much liner you lay down.

To complete your journey, you will love Light-Up Lip Gloss in Galaxy, a gleaming light pink. Pür Minerals makes a great lip gloss that tastes and look fantastic while never being sticky, which is quite impressive in a world of glosses.

The best part about this palette is all you can do with it without going over the top or spending a fortune to create so many different looks from this one kit.  Do look into the Jupiter Ascending Palette at Pür Minerals while it is still available because it can help you dazzle this summer.

Recipe: My Lentil-Mashed Potato Patties Can End Your Lusting for Traditional Hamburgers!

Lentil-Mashed Potato burger on homemade bun.jpeg
Lentil-Mashed Potato burger on my homemade bun

Let’s be honest.  Ground beef burgers have a certain delicious taste that is hard to replicate. Of course, you can try substituting ground turkey and build a wonderful burger. Vegetarian burgers also are superb, but they too can be missing something.

Since giving up beef for several years now in my attempt to better monitor our cholesterol with healthier options, I have been experimenting with quite a few different versions of bean burgers.

Lentil-Mashed Potato Patties.jpeg
Lentil-Mashed Potato Patties

Trying to perfect a burger that tastes great with the right texture is no easy feat, readers. Some versions that I tried were either too soft and fell apart on the bun. Other had a wonderful flavor, only they were too hard. However, this last time that I have been playing in my kitchen, I finally got a winner with this recipe that I am sharing with you today.

These lentil patties taste good dressed up with your ketchup, lettuce, and cheese like a typical burger.  They also were wonderful served plain with homemade gravy or without along with a vegetable and a garden salad.

A bag of dry legumes is far cheaper than buying the same amount in a can.  When I am cooking lentils, I cook two cups of dry lentils, which is more than you’ll need for this recipe. The reason I cook extra is because it saves me time in meal preparation later in the week when I can just go to my refrigerator and use those cooked lentils in another meatless dinner.

I do hope you try my recipe because I think you will really love it.

My Lentil-Mashed Potato Patties

2 tablespoons of finely chopped onion
1 teaspoon of dried cilantro or 1 tablespoon of fresh cilantro
2 cups of cooked lentils
16 saltine crackers
½ teaspoon of dried oregano leaves
1 teaspoon of cumin powder
1 teaspoon of dried sage
1 drop of liquid smoke
½ teaspoon of dried thyme leaves
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
3/4 teaspoon of salt
2 cups of mashed potatoes
1/4 cup of oil for frying

Take two cups of the cooked lentils and mix with the two cups of mashed potatoes and thoroughly mash both together.

Next, you will add all the spices, the chopped onion, and the crackers, which were rolled out into fine crumbs.

Mix the ingredients together by hand and shape into the size of the patties you want.

Fry them in about 1/4 cup of oil until lightly browned.

If you have leftovers, these heat well in the microwave the next day.

ENJOY!

**Disclaimer:  This post has been compensated through a free product (s) or monetary payment.  Opinions are solely mine. All links are "no-follow" links.**

bossy lip gloss.jpeg
This is Bossy.

Tempting lips was never easier once you try the new Chateau Kisses Plumping Lip Glosses from Pür MineralsI was sent Bossy and Scandalous for this review and giveaway.

What's unique about this line of eight striking mineral color shades is the formula, which has beneficial resveratrol that is derived from Bordeaux wine.  As a result, lips get rich definition and shine with a yummy cupcake-like smell!

Bossy is a medium berry-brown with gold pearl that looks natural, only expertly polished to be flirty.

Scandalous is just as enticing.  This is a sheer berry red with gold pearl that looks naturally flushed with mimicking ripe berries showing through with a bit of sunny highlight.

Here is Scandalous.
Though I can’t say that I noticed all that much of a plumping effect, there was so much to love about these lip glosses. Besides that delightful cake-batter aroma and the coveted multiple of other gorgeous, shiny colors, they are not sticky in the least.

modeling-bossy-lip- gloss.jpeg
This is Bossy, a great neutral!   It also happens to be my favorite of the two.

modeling-scandalous-lip-gloss.jpeg
This is Scandalous.  You'll notice more pink-berry than red.

Also worthy of mention is the fact that they hydrate and feel wonderful against your lips for hours.  Mine stayed put for about four hours when I initially applied it until I dined.

Furthermore, you don’t have to worry about the color fading into your lips or ending on your teeth.

If you haven’t gotten around to trying  Pür Minerals Chateau Kisses Plumping Lip Glosses ($18), then you should check these out.

Thanks to Pür Minerals, one lucky Nuts 4 Stuff reader in the United States win both Pür Minerals Chateau Kisses Plumping Lip Glosses in Bossy and Scandalous ($36 value)!

Argan Love Your Lips Hydrating Lipsticks Line

What if I told you that I just may have the answer to your ultimate lipstick dryness woes? Let me fill you in on the juicy details of Josie Maran Cosmetics Argan Love Your Lips Hydrating Lipsticks that I had the chance to try.

There are six stunning shades available in this line.  I was provided with two tubes in Fuschia Frolic (a bright, sheer pink) and Happy Honey (a warm rosy nude).

Here is Fuchsia Frolic that I'm holding.
modeling-fuschia-hydrating-lipstick.jpeg
In this photo, I am modeling Fuschia Frolic.

The first thing you will notice is that the color is centered in the middle and is surrounded by a clear coating.

Once applied, these lipsticks glide on and leave a slightly lighter shade than its brilliant core. The amount of hydration they left felt wonderful on my dry lips due to the moisture-rich argan oil in its unique 3-in-1 formulation for a glossy effect in addition to lovely color. You can build onto the color by adding more.

As to length of wear, I would say to expect about several hours (about four) before you will want to reapply.  I put mine on after breakfast and kept it on until eating my lunch.

The best part about Josie Maran Argan Love Your Lip Hydrating Lipsticks ($22) is how your soothed lips will feel even afterwards.  Do check this line out and give those lips some satisfaction!

How I Make the Most of Summer–L’Occitane en Provence Style! (Review)

**Disclaimer:  This post has been compensated through a free product (s) or monetary payment.  Opinions are solely mine. All links are "no-follow" links.**

Regina Shower Gel.jpeg
Vitoria Regia (Day) Shower Gel

Summer is the time that you show more skin than other seasons.  Therefore, you need to take more care and adapt your beauty routine so that every inch of you is as beautiful as can be.  Let me share a few of my favorite products from L’Occitane en Provence that can definitely solve those special needs so you can make the most out of your summer also!

Ever since I reviewed the Bresil Collection, I have fallen in love with the deliciously exotic green, aquatic floral scent of Vitoria Regia.  Every time I suds up with this lush smelling Amazonian spawned floral, I allow that bright fragrance to carry me off. Vitoria Regia (Day) Shower Gel ($20) is light and just perfect for its uplighting effect to begin any day.

I have been slathering on L’Occitane en Provence’s award-winning Almond Milk Concentrate ($29.50--$49) after enjoying myself outside in the sun.  With its rich emollients like walnut seed and almond extracts, my skin drinks in this silky cream and feels so much better afterwards.  The scent of this is gentle and won’t clash with fragrance either.
Almond Milk Concentrate.jpeg

However, when it comes to feet, I can’t recommend their Shea Butter Foot Cream ($28) more highly enough especially this being the sandal season.  This award-winning stuff is a foot miracle in a tube with anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties as well.  Despite how tired your feet can feel after a day in fashionable, but painful shoes, this cream has lavender and arnica as well as shea butter to refresh as it softens them beyond belief.  You’ll be surprised at that extra bit of pep that you’ll find in your step.

Before venturing outdoors, I make it a point to never be without  Angelica UV Shield SPF 40 ($38), another award-winning product.  What I love is how lightweight this multitasking moisturizer with a sun screen feels while it solves that dryness problem at the same time.  And yet, it does more for how it manages to perk up my complexion without using very much from its pump dispenser.
Angelica UV Shield SPF 40 moisturizer.jpeg
Angelica UV Shield SPF 40 Moisturizer

Something else you need to try are products from their Immortelle line.  I have been using the Brightening Water ($28) for my toner for a while.  What I noticed is this product does more than just being able to remove any last reside of grime and makeup.  It also gives a face added luminosity that you have to experience firsthand over time.  Perhaps, it is the bellis perennis extract and vitamin C derivative along with the garden nasturtium extract that helps the complexion get that unreal glow.  I can’t begin to say how the formula works, only that it does!

These five are a few of my summer beauty finds from this French brand that I highly recommend trying if you haven’t done so yet. What are your favorite products from L’Occitane en Provence?
