PUR Cosmetics Contour Diaries Review

Contour-Diaries.jpeg
You can call attention to your best features and diminish bad ones with this one palette!

Most people aren’t born with perfect features.  Since I happen to be one of them, I always found contouring and highlighting helpful to improve my facial structure more to my liking.  Lately, I have been experimenting with PUR Cosmetics Contour Diaries palette to see what is possible with their highlighting and contouring powders.

This palette comes with six shades of three highlights: Charm (light pink/peach), Dream (golden tone) and Flirt (warm peach-beige).  The three contour shades are Secret (pale brown), Passion (warmer medium brown), and Mystery (dark brown).  Just like all PUR’s products, this is 100% cruelty-free, vegan and free of any health risking parabens.

To really appreciate what this palette can do is using it with a contour blending brush over a plusher blush or powder brush.  The reason is that you don’t want to pick up more pigment than necessary, only enough to meet the highlighting or contouring task.  Otherwise, you will overload your face with heavy, unflattering streaks.

The powders are soft, smooth and nicely-pigmented.  They do stir up a little dust, but not excessively so as some powders can.  Being light-skinned, the contour shade that appeared the most natural on me was Secret.  Passion appears almost like a warm bronzer on me.  Mystery can make a great deep brown matte eye shadow.  However, I am using it with an eye shadow brush to subtly contour my nose over the larger contour brush.  I also loved how easily these powders are to custom mix your own shade such as the Secret/Mystery blend for my nose.

Have you tried PUR Cosmetics Contour Diaries Palette ($32.00) yet?  If not and you’re hoping to find a great set, this one won’t disappoint you.  Check it out.

How to Have an Instant Nose Job Without Surgery Just by Some Strategic Highlighting and Contouring Techniques!

Woman's Face in shadows.jpeg
Learning where to direct light and dark shadows is the secret to overcome beauty flaws.

Most of us have a feature that we aren’t particularly happy with.  Personally, I don’t care all that much for my nose.  Some people think it’s cute but I never saw it.  Therefore, I took it upon myself to learn how to reshape it with makeup.  Today, I want to share some excellent highlighting and contouring tricks that I discovered for creating your own perfect nose.

Though you can use any form of highlighters and contouring powders, bronzers or shadows, you can also use three different shades of foundation.  One color that is an ideal match for your skin tone, another a shade darker and one a shade lighter than your complexion also works wonderfully.

Since I also like to define my bone structure to my advantage, I found using the three foundations gives me the most natural results over too shimmery a highlight or too dark of a contour color.  To me, this method just saves time.

If your nose happens to be wider than you like, the best way to start is by redirecting the light away from its width that you don’t like and focusing on the center.  Use your lightest foundation or highlighter apply a fairly thick line along the length of your nose, along the bridge, but stop short before you reach the tip.

IT Cosmetics Brow Power Lift Pencil

Who knew one little pencil like the Brow Power Lift from IT Cosmetics could be so indispensable to a face?  Once you see what a flick of either end of this creamy, two-sided pencil can do to help transform your face, you will understand why I think this product is a must for your makeup bag.

One end of this creamy pencil is a rich matte pink-nude for brightening and the other is a pearly light pink-beige for illuminating.  This pencil also comes equipped with its own sharpener.

With this one product, you can emphasize your brow bone, use along the inner corners of your eyes for a fresher look or any other areas that could benefit from some much needed brightening.  As exciting as that may be, this pencil can even help you turn back the clock to create an illusion of a lifting effect that will distract the eye away from the obvious like a wrinkle with its micronized pigments.

Now you are starting to get the hang of why I think this is a great pencil since it can do so much.  And as it does those wonderful things, there is even more reason I love this product.  The formula itself treats skin to anti-aging benefits with hydrolyzed collagen, vitamins A, C, and E, and real silk among other ingredients.

Brow Power Lift retails for $24 at IT Cosmetics.  You can also find it at QVC and QVC.com, Ulta Beauty, the Shopping Channel and shoppingchannel.com.

Take it from this IT Cosmetics girl, this is a beauty goodie that will definitely help give you the best face possible.

Unless you are fortunate enough to be born a raving beauty with perfect features, then count yourself blessed.  But if you are like the rest of us and have at least one feature that you are not happy with such as too wide cheeks or a nose that may just be a smidgen too long, you need to discover IT Cosmetics My Sculpted Face Contouring Palette.

You probably might have tried your hand at contouring and found it is not the easiest thing to pull off.  However, any bad experience you may have had with trying to hide a bad feature or play up a good one is a thing of the past.  Thanks to the genius of those beauty experts at IT Cosmetics, you can work magic with the My Sculpted Face kit.

The palette has six shades that are perfectly coordinated for realistically camouflaging and bringing out those beautiful bones with four shadows for contouring and two for highlighting to meet any skin coloring.  To simplify everything, the company provides a personal reference chart to explain the best way to tackle your face, which is a wonderful place to start.

I liked using my IT Cosmetics Dual Airbrush Foundation Concealer Brush with this palette, especially on a small area such as the nose or chin.

I loved the varied degrees of the contouring shades.  This really does make a difference for working with your bone structure I learned when hollowing out my cheeks.  When I topped with the white shimmer shade as I completing my makeup, I was able to draw attention upward and beam soft light just where I wanted.

Due to another amazing anti-aging formula from IT Cosmetics, these waterproof shadows appear smooth and soft instead of powdery because of ingredients like vitamin E and jojoba oil and wear for hours.

There is so much you can do with this My Sculpted Face--and in one palette to save yourself from buying several other shades of foundations or powders trying to contour.

Take it from this IT Cosmetics girl, this is one palette that can miraculously transform a face.  Do yourself a favor and get one and zero in on showing only the best of you.

My Sculpted Face retails for $38 at IT Cosmetics.  You can also find it at QVC and QVC.com, Ulta Beauty, the Shopping Channel and shoppingchannel.com.
