Review: PUR Cosmetics Correcting Primers (Redness Reducer, Hydrate & Balance, Dark Spot)

three-correcting-primers.jpeg
Primers can help perfect the look of your makeup while caring for the skin.

Using a primer can only enhance the look of your makeup.  Regardless of your skin type or issue, PUR Cosmetics has a variety of correcting primers to counteract and provide the solution for a beautiful face such as the selection the company sent to me to sample.

One thing that I admire about this company is that all their healthier formulated products are cruelty-free, paraben free, gluten free, and vegan.  This concern for well-being extends even to the containers they use, being free of Bisphenol A (BPA).

The first primer I want to tell you about is their Redness Reducer, which is a green color in the tube.  I don’t have any redness from rosacea to compare this product with, but my mother does.  Therefore, she was the tester. Besides liking how easy it was to blend, she loved the way this primer calmed down the redness without any irritation with its aloe vera on her sensitive skin.

I also got a tube of their Hydrate & Balance Corrective Primer.  This is the blue mattifying primer that is free of both oil and silicone that is ideal for oily or acne prone complexions with its salicylic acid.  Though I don’t have oily skin, I always start with a moisturizer before priming.  Even with the added moisturizer, this product will prevent oil from shining through for hours.

The last one I received was their Dark Spot Corrector.  This is the orange tinted one that works wonders on dark circles and any spots such as hiding remnants of a pimple with its Walthena leaves, vitamin B3 and lubricating babassu oil.  It covers, moisturizes and brightens without piling on the product.  In fact, use it sparingly for the best results.

If you’re looking for a correcting primer ($33.00), you’ll find PUR Cosmetics could have exactly what your face needs to perfect it with these three and more.  Check them out!

PUR Cosmetics Contour Diaries Review

Contour-Diaries.jpeg
You can call attention to your best features and diminish bad ones with this one palette!

Most people aren’t born with perfect features.  Since I happen to be one of them, I always found contouring and highlighting helpful to improve my facial structure more to my liking.  Lately, I have been experimenting with PUR Cosmetics Contour Diaries palette to see what is possible with their highlighting and contouring powders.

This palette comes with six shades of three highlights: Charm (light pink/peach), Dream (golden tone) and Flirt (warm peach-beige).  The three contour shades are Secret (pale brown), Passion (warmer medium brown), and Mystery (dark brown).  Just like all PUR’s products, this is 100% cruelty-free, vegan and free of any health risking parabens.

To really appreciate what this palette can do is using it with a contour blending brush over a plusher blush or powder brush.  The reason is that you don’t want to pick up more pigment than necessary, only enough to meet the highlighting or contouring task.  Otherwise, you will overload your face with heavy, unflattering streaks.

The powders are soft, smooth and nicely-pigmented.  They do stir up a little dust, but not excessively so as some powders can.  Being light-skinned, the contour shade that appeared the most natural on me was Secret.  Passion appears almost like a warm bronzer on me.  Mystery can make a great deep brown matte eye shadow.  However, I am using it with an eye shadow brush to subtly contour my nose over the larger contour brush.  I also loved how easily these powders are to custom mix your own shade such as the Secret/Mystery blend for my nose.

Have you tried PUR Cosmetics Contour Diaries Palette ($32.00) yet?  If not and you’re hoping to find a great set, this one won’t disappoint you.  Check it out.

PUR Cosmetics Quick Pro Holiday Glitters 5-Piece Eye Polish Kit Review

Quick-Pro-Glitter-kit.jpeg
This $39.00 eye shadow kit has a $93.00 value.

With all the holiday parties and celebrations, you might want to give your eyes extra shimmery sparkle.  PUR Cosmetics Quick Pro Holiday Glitters 5-Piece Eye Polish Kit  has intense creamy color that is highly pigmented to give the eyes that shimmery foil-like shine with lasting coverage due to built in primer.
5-eye-polishes.jpeg
You get five gorgeous light and dark colors.

The set is vegan and free of any risky ingredients that could jeopardize health such as talc, parabens, petroleum, gluten, mineral oil, sodium lauryl, and sulfates.  This kit includes five beautiful shades such as Namaslay (rose-gold), Midnight Diamond (beaming silvery charcoal ), Queenie (yellow gold), Lust (cranberry), and OMG (bronze-brown)  It also features a hard spatula applicator.

The pigment in these shadows is stunning and can make your eyes dazzle without any glitter fallout.  Furthermore, these shadows do hold up without creasing for the hours that I wore them.  However, I would have preferred a brush or sponge type applicator over this harder silicone one when working with this shadow.

swatches-of-glitters-eye-kit.jpeg
Going from left to right is Queenie, Namasly, Lust, OMG, and ending with Midnight Diamond on the right.

The creamy shadow formula was easier to apply by spreading it over the eye area with my finger or just dipping my brush in.  You do need to work quickly because this formula doesn’t take long to dry.  Using your finger or a brush is the best way also to avoid running into clumps like you could experience when you take too much out from the hard applicator.

With that said, I think the PUR Cosmetics Quick Pro Holiday Glitters 5-Piece Eye Polish Kit ($39.00) would please you or any beauty on your holiday gift list in search of going full glam.  Visit the company’s website to learn more or buy.

open-quick-pro-scult-and-glow-palettes.jpeg
This little set has everything you need to give your skin shimmering luminosity and reshape what you need.

Playing with light and shadow can alter a face in a becoming way to turn flaws into assets.  A wonderful way you might want to get started is with healthier formulated mineral makeup like PUR Cosmetics Quick Pro Holiday Portables Sculpt & Glow On-the-Go Contour and Highlight Palette Pair that I got the opportunity to test.
quick-pro-sculpt-and-glow-box.jpeg
This set is valued at $36.00 but is just $14.00 at PUR Cosmetics!

Just like all PUR products, this compact set is cruelty-free and made without talc, paraben, petroleum, mineral oil, gluten or sodium lauryl sulfate that could pose any risks to health.  It does come into two separate pieces.

One slim piece consists of the three #light-reflecting, pressed powder #highlight shades with Slaycation (champagne), Goddess (rose-gold) and High Five (pale bronze).

The second piece has the three #contour shades that are Silhouette (beige-brown), Go Figure (warm brown) and Bronze (shimmering bronze with copper).

These smooth, silky powders can help add some beautiful definition and natural-looking radiance to any complexion.  They do have just a tad of fallout, but they cling wonderfully and last to make you or any beauty that might be shopping for this holiday season sparkle.

Something else is the price that this set is selling for.   The Quick Pro On-the-Go Contour and Highlight Palettes have a $36.00 value, but you pick one or several up for just $14.00, which sounds like a jolly deal to me.  Visit PUR Cosmetics website and snag one up while they’re around!

PUR Cosmetics Quick Pro Fully Charged Mascara & Lash Primer Kit Review: Making Extraordinary Lashes Possible

**Disclaimer:  This post has been compensated through a free product (s) or monetary payment.  Opinions are solely mine. All links are "no-follow" links.**

quick-pro-mascara-kit.jpeg
This kit is valued at $44, but retails for just $18.00.

I don’t know what happened to my lashes.  They used to be thicker and somewhat longer, but now they are shorter and thinner than a few years ago.  My solution to make dramatic improvement in this department is my trusted heated eyelash curler and great mascara and lash primer.  However, I now can skip the eyelash curler thanks to PUR Cosmetics Quick Pro Fully Charged Mascara & Lash Primer Kit.

What intrigued in this kit is its magnetic technology.  The Fully Charged Mascara’s unique, anti-aging formula has a magnetic polymer matrix that wraps a positively charged elastic veil around the lash.  This results in automatic lifting as the lash stretches and flawless separation instead of problematic clumping.  It also has provitamin B5 and biotinoyl tripeptide-1 for nourishing and strengthening lashes.

Before I sampled it, I applied the High Voltage Primer first.  After it dried, I brushed on a coat of this mascara.  Believe it or not, the formula even made my stubby lashes stand out after that one application and without the use of my eyelash curler.  My lashes weren’t sticking together or appearing fake, but even and naturally enhanced.  I was so thrilled that I went ahead and applied a second coat.  This time I saw a remarkable difference in more volume and length that I just gasped at what I saw in the mirror.

I also got to say my lashes didn’t feel brittle, but softer than my usual mascara.  If you ask me, this kit can be your lashes best friend.  After all, if it worked such magic on my practically nonexistent lashes without even curling them, I imagine it will do the same or even better for you.

The holidays are when you really want to look your best so check this kit out for yourself or any beauty lover on your gift list.   You can find Quick Pro Fully Charged Mascara & Lash Primer Kit ($18.00) at the PUR Cosmetics.  Just do yourself a favor and try it because you'll thank me.

PUR Cosmetics PRO X Etienne Ortega Eyeshadow Palette–An Amazing Fall Beauty Find!

**Disclaimer:  This post has been compensated through a free product (s) or monetary payment.  Opinions are solely mine. All links are "no-follow" links.**

PRO-X-Etienne-Ortega-Eyeshadow-Palette.jpeg
These are ideal colors that blend together in sheer perfection.

Just in time for fall, PUR Cosmetics has teamed up with Etienne Ortega,  a noted celebrity makeup artist, and released a stunning new 18-piece eyeshadow palette of matte and shimmer neutrals, including some great transition shades.  The colors are rich, wonderfully pigmented takes on nudes, a multiple of warm and cool browns, gold, peach, taupe, rose, black, silver, purple, deep blue, and olive that can take your eyes to new depths with how beguiling these shades are.

The PUR Cosmetics PRO X Etienne Oretega Eyeshadow Palette will allow you to create the season’s most enviable looks whether for daytime to all out glamour for nights.  The texture is never gritty but beautifully smooth, caressing lids with these softly defining hues that you will get plenty of use from.

This palette has the following colors:

Stripped–pale beige shimmer
Legend–tan shimmer
Popular–warm tan matte
Penny–copper shimmer
Monji–reddish brown shimmer
Muddy–cool matte brown
Dreamer–light gold (almost apricot) shimmer
1988–matte warm taupe
Adobe–matte brick red
Bossy–rose gold shimmer
Faux–bronze shimmer
3 A.M.–matte black
Zenon–silver shimmer
Lola–cool taupe matte
Paradise–violet-purple shimmer
Billionaire–deep olive shimmer
Midnight–dark violet-blue shimmer
Galaxy–lighter black shimmer

This is such a well-coordinated palette that you’ll never get tired of using with how versatile they are.  Unlike some colors that just sit there in your palette, these all work together so beautifully that you can’t help being inspired to try new looks.

Between us, this is one of the best fall eyeshadow palettes that I have tried to date. I highly recommend snagging PUR Cosmetics PRO X Etienne Ortega Eyeshadow Palette ($42) while you see it because with how great it is, I believe it could sell out in the meantime.  Check it out at PUR’s website or your local Kohl’s.

PUR Cosmetics Vanity Palette (Dream Chaser) Can Simplify Your Morning Beauty Routine

*Disclaimer:  This post has been compensated through a free product (s) or monetary payment.  Opinions are solely mine. All links are "no-follow" links.**

vanity-palette-dream-chaser.jpeg
This is the Dream Chaser Vanity Palette.

If you’re trying to simplify your makeup routine, a well-organized palette is always a smart way to go.  Instead of rooting through all your cosmetics, everything you need to beautify is in one place.  A good one for days that I am currently using is PUR Cosmetics Dream Chaser Vanity Palette.

The color scheme is natural with more matte peachy shades in an enriched skin-beneficial formula that has green tea, ginseng and vitamins. You get four brown-toned eye shadows from deep chocolate, warmer red brown, burgundy to a cream beige, a fresh peach-pink blush, golden-tan bronzer, and a pale peach-cream illuminator for a nice mix of colors to work with.  The colors in this palette were so becoming for my fair to light, warm complexion.

swatches-of-vanity-palette.jpeg
First row starting on the left is Aspire, Utopia, Good Intentions, and ending with Fantasy.
Bottom row from left to right is Illusion, Visionary and Driven.

Something that really appealed to me is the design of this palette.  You can open and pull up the mirror so it will stand upright to place on your vanity for a better view, which is fantastic for getting closer when doing the eyes.

These cruelty-free, vegan and paraben free powders have a nice pigment to them, blend well and build wonderfully. I also liked how the darker eye shadows can double as eyeliners just by a change of a brush.

My advice if you are looking to save time in the morning, PUR Cosmetics Dream Chaser Vanity Palette ($36) is something you might want to pick up.  Check it out!

PUR Cosmetics Soiree Diaries Eyeshadow Palette Review + Swatches

soiree diaries eyeshadow palette.jpeg
You can do a lot with these 12 shades.

Neutral makeup shades are the easiest to wear.  They never seem to let you down like bolder colors that can show flaws of aging eyes.  For that reason, I always seem to gravitate toward products that can supply that more natural look. When I spied PUR Cosmetics new Soiree Diaries Eyeshadow Palette, I was already smitten at what I saw.

This palette has 12 creamy shades of vegan, gluten and paraben free eye shadows  that blend like a dream in a section of four mattes, satins and shimmers.  The colors are gorgeous, bursting with pigment and wonderfully long-lasting.

PUR Cosmetics Elevation Mini Highlighter Palette with Fan Brush Review

**Disclaimer:  This post has been compensated through a free product (s) or monetary payment.  Opinions are solely mine. All links are "no-follow" links.**

back of Elevation highlighter box.jpeg
This palette gives a graceful, softer glow than over the top shine or intense sparkle.

Have you noticed that a sure way to make any complexion look better is by casting it in light?  With the help of a good highlighting product, you can instantly energize the skin with that ideal subtle glow.  One that may interest you is PUR Cosmetics Elevation Mini Highlighter Palette with Fan Brush that PR sent along for my opinion.

opened Elevation Highlighter palette.jpeg
This palette is slim to travel well.

This three-pan palette is compact and perfect if you plan on traveling or carrying in your handbag with its smaller size.  It also comes with a fan brush, which is nice to find.

Inside, you get three different shades of vitamin-E enriched powders.  Boost is a shimmering champagne highlight.   Attitude is basically white intertwined with traces of pink and violet-blue.  It also has some gleam to it, but offers more of a powder finish.  Upgrade is a soft rose-gold highlight that also lends a delicate gleam to wherever you need it.

My complexion ranges between fair to light.  I thought Boost and Upgrade worked well for me just as I feel they would for others with the same skin tone.  Attitude doesn’t provide that same subtle glow since it is the palette’s color correcting powder.

Yet, all is not perfect.  You do get some fallout, which may bother some.

However, if you are searching for an easy to wear highlighter without obvious chunky glitter or intense shine and want a gentle natural glow, I do recommend PUR’s Cosmetics Elevation Mini Highlighter Palette with Fan Brush ($15). Check it out!

PUR Cosmetics Bronze Your Selfie Review + Swatch!

Bronze Your Selfie.jpeg
I love how much you can do with this one liquid bronzer!

This is the time of year when my still pale winter coloring could use a boost.  Therefore, I was glad to find PUR Cosmetics limited edition Bronze Your Selfie show up in a box that PR sent along because it seemed just what I needed to transition into summer.

This is a liquid form of bronzer with gold radiance through its sunny tan color.  It has a shimmer to it, but it’s more subtle and a natural looking sun-kissed hue than an exaggerated, sparkly one.  I also thought it was buildable and easy to blend.

swatch of Bronze Your Selfie.jpeg
Here I swatched the Bronze Your Selfie with the unblended on the left and blending it on the right.

I especially liked how many different ways that you could use this product to get yourself glowing.  I loved mixing a little of it with foundation for warming my complexion, but also found it just as wonderful when I tested it with my moisturizer.  I also added  some to my body lotion and it rescued my pale legs and arms.

I say if you want an effortless glow whether for the face or body, then PUR’s Bronze Your Selfie Skin-Perfecting Face and Body Liquid Bronzer ($26) is the way to go.  Check it out at the company’s website or Kohl’s while it’s available because it really is one that you’ll love!

PUR Cosmetics Make It Matte Oil Mattifying Blotting Stick Review

*Disclaimer:  This post has been compensated through a free product (s) or monetary payment.  Opinions are solely mine. All links are "no-follow" links.**

Make It Matte Oil stick and box.jpeg
If oil is a problem, this stick is a handy helper.

If you read me regularly, then you probably are aware that I have dry skin for the most part.  This is true except for an oily nose, which baffles me since the rest of my T-zone is fine. This shiny nose problem gets worse through the heat of summer.  With that said, I thought PUR’s Make It Matte Oil Mattifying Blotting Stick might be a helpful save from over powdering or using a blotting sheet.

opened Make It Matte stick.jpeg
Here is what the product looks like.

This white blotting stick is what you use instead of your normal mattifying primer and apply to dry skin before makeup.  The product comes in a short, chubby silver tube that is perfect for throwing in your handbag or targeting smaller areas like a nose or running over your T-zone.

When I read the ingredients, I noticed it had one particular ingredient that I knew could help to produce a mattifying effect.  It was silica in the formula.

When I tried it, I was pleased at how well it kept my nose shine free for hours without the need to retouch. I’m glad that I found this product now before broiling summer sets in to make that shine more of an issue.

If you also need to zap up excess oil, PUR Cosmetics Make It Matte Oil Mattifying Blotting Stick ($26) is worth trying.

PUR Cosmetics Velvet Matte Liquid Lipsticks (Fever, Passion) Review--Are These the Perfect Mattes for you?

**Disclaimer:  This post has been compensated through a free product (s) or monetary payment.  Opinions are solely mine. All links are "no-follow" links.**

Velvet Matte Liquid Lipsticks.jpeg
On the left is Passion with the Fever shade on the right.

Lipstick has always been a beauty staple for me as it is for most of us.  I think that it is a quick way to add some instant glam to your look.  PUR Cosmetics sent me two tubes of their Velvet Matte Liquid Lipsticks from their line of 10 shades with Passion and Fever.

These cruelty-free lipsticks retail for $18 a piece and come with a doe-foot applicator. They are totally vegan as well as manufactured completely free of parabens, which makes you feel even better when buying that no animals were harmed for the sake of beauty.

The colors also are extremely pigmented and do seem to glide on almost like butter instead of liquid lipstick with no detectable scent.

Fever is a deep red brown shade, almost bordering on an vampy, oxblood color.  The problem that I found with this shade was that it accentuated the smallest bit of lip dryness.  This color also seems harder to spread, clinging to concentrate more on certain parts of the lip than others.

The next time that I tried that deep red shade, I made it a point to exfoliate my lips first.  Still, I experienced about the same amount of the problem.

On the other hand, I had a stunning victory with Passion.  This shade is a medium pink with some purple to it that is simply lovely.  It spread much better without any clinging to any lip dryness like the dark red and felt comfortable while leaving my lips with a great creamy matte finish that wore well through my day.

Have you tried any of these PUR Cosmetics Velvet Matte Liquid Lipsticks yet?  If not, check them out and tell me which ones that you tried!

Pur Minerals Sun-Kissed Glow Strobe & Highlight Palette Review + Swatches!

*Disclaimer:  This post has been compensated through a free product (s) or monetary payment.  Opinions are solely mine. All links are "no-follow" links.**

Pur Minerals Sun-Kissed Glow Palette.jpeg
This palette is ideal for a foolproof way to contour and highlight.

Sculpting a face with shadow and light takes makeup artistry.  Too dark of a contour shade or placing it in the wrong spot can spoil your efforts just as easily as overdoing highlights if you don’t proceed with caution.  On the other hand, strobing is a softer contouring technique that simplifies facial defining through subtle luminescence.  I got to practice with Pur Minerals Sun-Kissed Glow Strobe & Highlight Palette.
