Review: PUR Cosmetics Correcting Primers (Redness Reducer, Hydrate & Balance, Dark Spot)

three-correcting-primers.jpeg
Primers can help perfect the look of your makeup while caring for the skin.

Using a primer can only enhance the look of your makeup.  Regardless of your skin type or issue, PUR Cosmetics has a variety of correcting primers to counteract and provide the solution for a beautiful face such as the selection the company sent to me to sample.

One thing that I admire about this company is that all their healthier formulated products are cruelty-free, paraben free, gluten free, and vegan.  This concern for well-being extends even to the containers they use, being free of Bisphenol A (BPA).

The first primer I want to tell you about is their Redness Reducer, which is a green color in the tube.  I don’t have any redness from rosacea to compare this product with, but my mother does.  Therefore, she was the tester. Besides liking how easy it was to blend, she loved the way this primer calmed down the redness without any irritation with its aloe vera on her sensitive skin.

I also got a tube of their Hydrate & Balance Corrective Primer.  This is the blue mattifying primer that is free of both oil and silicone that is ideal for oily or acne prone complexions with its salicylic acid.  Though I don’t have oily skin, I always start with a moisturizer before priming.  Even with the added moisturizer, this product will prevent oil from shining through for hours.

The last one I received was their Dark Spot Corrector.  This is the orange tinted one that works wonders on dark circles and any spots such as hiding remnants of a pimple with its Walthena leaves, vitamin B3 and lubricating babassu oil.  It covers, moisturizes and brightens without piling on the product.  In fact, use it sparingly for the best results.

If you’re looking for a correcting primer ($33.00), you’ll find PUR Cosmetics could have exactly what your face needs to perfect it with these three and more.  Check them out!

See how this Mineral Fusion Illuminating Primer gently glows even in its jar.

Having a moist, youthful glow to your skin always helps knock off a few years from any face.  After all, when that healthy vibrance shines through, the complexion seems transformed and features look more refreshed. Therefore, I was curious how Mineral Fusion’s Illuminating Primer would perform.

This primer has a unique natural formula, infused with 24 karat gold flecks for better illumination. It also has plenty of natural antioxidants, orange fruit oil, and collagen-boosting peptide for its brightening and anti-aging benefits.  In keeping with Mineral Fusion’s sense of product purity, it also does not have any parabens, artificial color, talc, fragrance or phthaltaes that might be problematic to your health.
After I applied some of this primer, my skin felt wonderfully hydrated with a delicate shimmer when you looked at yourself from different angles.  It illuminated my face with such becoming softness that was very appealing and natural.  This primer also left my complexion utterly smooth to make for the perfect canvas for my foundation.

My list of products that I love from Mineral Fusion grows all the time.  Their Illuminating Primer ($28.99) is just another excellent find if you ask me.  Find it at Whole Foods or at Mineral Fusion’s website.

Priming first before you put on your foundation can do more for your complexion than you may realize.  Incorporating this product into your beauty routine may require an extra step, but it can minimize your pores and even out your skin tone to create a practically flawless complexion.

Pur Minerals Correcting Primer Dark Spot Corrector that I got to try is a bit different.  If you happen to have some complexion problem that you need extra help with like blotchy skin, freckles, or some darkness under your eyes, age spots, or a discolored mark left behind from a pimple, this is the primer that just may be the one to help you out.

This is a peachy color meant for all skin tones that looks darker until you apply your foundation.  It does lighten and seemed to brighten as well as perfect the complexion in the process.   I thought my dark circles also benefitted because I used less concealer.  Be careful though about getting this primer to close to your eyes.  According to Pur Minerals Questions & Answers section under the product, this primer should not be used on your eyelids so keep that in mind.

I really liked primer for that bit of extra help it gave me.  Have you tried Pur Minerals Correcting Primer Dark Spot Corrector ($31) yet?  Check it out.

Garden Botanika Holiday Prime Time Collection Review and Giveaway!--Ends December 10, 2011

Garden Botanika Holiday Prime Time Collection

When Garden Botanika asked if I wanted to review and giveaway their new Holiday Prime Time Collection, I welcomed the opportunity to test out their four- piece set of primers to keep your makeup intact.  I was curious about what sort of improvement I would notice.

The kit includes their best selling "She's Prepped" Mineral Foundation Primer, a Lash Primer, Shadow Primer, and a Lip Scrub.  These four arrive in a perky green cosmetic case with a protective plastic lining in case of spills.

I was shocked at how using "She's Prepped" Mineral Foundation Primer seemed to work so much better than any moisturizer under my makeup.  This product seemed to mask my pores more to create a smoother surface because when I applied foundation my complexion was void of even the tiniest of flaws.

The Shadow Primer was so wonderful for keeping mineral eye shadow beautiful without creasing for longer periods of time.

The Lip Scrub was next for me to test.  After I put some on, I applied some lipstick that usually faded into my skin after about an hour.  I only kept this tube because it was such a pretty color that I liked to wear with one particular outfit.   Nonetheless, it was a pain to constantly need to repair my lips when I wore it.  However, I am happy to report that once I tried their Lip Scrub, I didn't have that same problem.  My lip color was still on my lips all morning until lunch without any signs of bleeding.

I thought the Lash Primer worked nicely thickening and lengthening my lashes considerably.   What else was great was how it kept my non-waterproof mascara in place.  I wore it all day and didn't have any flaking or smudging, even when I forgot I was wearing mascara, and rubbed my eyes.

I really think these products are worth the extra little bit of time it takes to add them to your beauty routine.  Honestly, you will see an amazing difference in your skin's surface and smoothness that makeup will adhere better.  This set would make an amazing holiday gift for any woman!

*Disclaimer:  This is my own honest opinion.  No money was exchanged.  All I received were free products to facilitate this review.*
