Any pencil can line, but these add a surreal look to the eyes with their color.

A lot of people love the look of heavy eyeliner, but I prefer a softer emphasis to play up my eyes.  Luxury beauty brand, Rouge Bunny Rouge, must have been reading my mind because their Feline Gaze Eye Khols accomplish that goal beautifully.

There are six shades in the line, but I was particularly drawn to the riveting, frosted blue-violet (Vera), deep forest green (Selene) and the aubergine-plum (Delilah) over basic black, gray and brown.

The Feline Gaze pencils are creamy, but not excessively so like some kohl pencils can be.  They glide over the eyes well without tugging, smudge nicely for blending and really brought out the darkness of my eyes, ringing them with almost a dreamlike quality.

I didn’t experience any problems with these eyeliners disappearing or smearing while I wore them. I had them on from morning until late afternoon and everything was good.

I am totally pleased with Rouge Bunny Rouge Feline Gaze Eye Khols ($23) because they do what I need to show off my eyes with style.  If you’re looking to keep your lining subtle, but sophisticated, I highly recommend visiting their website and trying the colored varieties of Vera, Selene, and Delilah!

How to Choose the Most Flattering Eyeliner for Your Skin Tone

makeup artist doing a woman's eyes.jpeg
You'll appreciate how working with your skin tone can bring more emphasis to your eyes.

The Fall/Winter 2016-2017 eyeliner trend will be heavy on the black, ringing eyes dramatically with unmistakable thickness to creating extra wings.  Though black is the universal shade of liner that works for all, there always comes a time when you want to change the makeup look that you’re going for with one that is softer or just as bold through riveting color.

Therefore, a no-fail way is by selecting shades that compliment your skin tone rather than your eye color. For instance, if you have fair skin with cool undertones, I suggest experimenting with dark gray or cool brown shades over warmer versions for a wonderful change of pace.   Metallic liners, whether silver or gold, also are fantastic for bringing some striking emphasis to your eyes in a unique way.

Fair to medium skin with warm undertones like mine look great with bronze, brighter navy to royal blues, eggplant, and deep green eyeliner colors.

Dark complexions never seem to go wrong with bright, more vivid blues and turquoise for some beautiful contrast as well as golds and bronze for playing up their skin.

Try these suggestions yourself for a striking way to bring out those gorgeous eyes!

A Helpful Tip for Mastering Liquid Eyeliner

makeup artist using liquid eyeliner on woman.jpeg
This skilled beauty knows how to achieve liquid eyeliner allure.

Liquid eye liner takes a steady hand and a certain technique if you want to get your line on just right.  If you’re just starting to experiment with this form of eyeliner or your hand might shake a bit, then I hope that you try this tip that will help you gain more control until you get the hang of it.

What I suggest is taking a pencil eyeliner and lining your lid first.  Think of it as setting a pattern that you will then trace over with your liquid eyeliner.

Another tip that can help even further is starting with a liquid eyeliner that will give you the best control.  In this case, the ideal liner that you want is one with a tinier, tapered brush and a shorter handle for easier, closer work than those longer, handled ones.

I hope that you try this makeup tip because it will get you more comfortable and satisfied with the look of your eyes.

Review: NYC New York Color Big Bold & Precise Liquid Eyeliner

NYC New York Color Big Bold & Precise Liquid Eyeliner.jpeg
NYC New York Color Big Bold & Precise Liquid Eyeliner

More often than not, I use eyeliner pencils for ease of application since I can control the thinness of the line or smudge for a more natural look for daytime.  Nights, however, I like to do a more dramatic eye with liquid liners.  When NYC New York Color offered to send me their Big Bold & Precise Liquid Eyeliner 2-in-1 Felt Tip in 990 Black, I gladly took them up on seeing what the product was like.

The brand claims with this one pen that you will be able to switch the thickness of the line by flipping the slanted edge of the tip.  The wide side of that slanted tip will provide a bold, thick line while the narrow edge is meant for doing a thinner line.

Regardless of how you hold this pen, you can expect a bold line.  Trying to control the thickness of the line was a challenge at least for me.  I had to wipe it off and practice for a while before I got better at using this particular eyeliner.  Once I did, I finally managed to create a decent, statement-making eye with it that held up for quite some time without giving me any problems.   Just be prepared that you may need to practice your technique first before you can make a fair judgement.

The NYC New York Color Big Bold & Precise Liquid Eyeliner retails for $3.99.  Do check it out when you shop for eyeliner.

Review + Swatches: Take a Walk on the Wild Side With Touch in SOL Eye and Lip Products for Beautiful Definition!

**Disclaimer:  This post has been compensated through a free product (s) or monetary payment.  Opinions are solely mine. All links are "no-follow" links.**

Touch in SOL Style Neon Galactic Girl Eyeliner.jpeg
Touch in SOL's Galactic Girl was my favorite bright shade.  The violet with brown really rocked the color in a sensational way.

Giving eyes and lips some dazzling glamour is easy when you find the right cosmetics to help with the task. With the products that I was sent from Korean beauty brand, Touch in SOL, I discovered how to give my features an exciting change through neon color and vivid definition.

Before I tried these wild colors on, I was a bit hesitant about Touch in SOL’s new Style Neon Super Proof Gel Eyeliners ($16) for their unconventional effect.  However, the fun was what came next once I started playing with these creamy, well-pigmented waterproof liners and experimenting with how to turn up the wattage of my eyes by combining colors or eye shadow for reinventing new looks.

I found laying down a bold bright line as I did with their riveting violet Galatic Girl played up the color of my brown eyes even more than I expected.  You might say it brought them into beautiful focus.

The Astral Ice, an electric blue color, paired with shimmering champagne and bronze shadow gave my eyes an edgy update.
Touch in SOL Style Neon Astral Ice Eyeliner.jpeg
Astral Ice is not for the shy.  This lively liner is meant to be noticed.

Not to be outdone was the way my eyes looked once I tried on Eclectic Electric, the teal pencil, which by the time I finished my makeup seemed to make my eyes look huge with what the brilliance of that color did to resize my eyes.
Touch in SOL Style Neon Eclectic Electric Eyeliner.jpeg
Eclectic Electric is bold fun.  Wearing this liner brings out your playful, daring side.

Lights Out was a rich matte black that also applied effortlessly for a pencil due to its beneficial oils such as argan, apricot, calendula, jojoba seed, olive, and rose.  One other color is available in this line called Cosmic Carrot, a bright orange, but I did not get that one to test.
Touch in SOL Style Neon Lights Out Eyeliner.jpeg
Lights Out is classic, rich black that blends as easily as it glides on.

You should see the extra impact that is possible once you retrace over that dark black with one of these bright neon pencils alongside. The size of my eyes seemed to take on a new proportion with how that bit of wild color only brought more attention to the area.
Touch in SOL Style Neon Eyeliner & One Second Lip Crayon swatches.jpeg
For your viewing pleasure, I swatched the shades for you.  Starting on the left is  Red Chili One Second Vivid Lip Crayon followed by Lights Out, Eclectic Electric, Galactic Girl, and ending with Astral Ice Style Neon Super Proof Gel Eyeliners on the right.

These pencils stay put, despite rubbing your eyes or when it comes to taking them off.  You will need your eye makeup remover to get them to budge.  Soap and water or a rinseable cleanser just will not cut it.

I also was sent one of the Light Bright Brow Spot Highlighter ($21) pens for accentuating the brow area or other facial highlighting in #001 For Your Eyes Only, a matte pink.  This is one of those sponge-tipped pens that you twist to release the liquid that later turns into powder form.  The formula has argan, olive, and jojoba seed oils, which makes for smooth gliding.  As to shades, there are three other shades ranging from subtle in how it catches the light to full shimmer that I would have preferred for any highlighting.

The eye product that totally won my heart was Touch in SOL’s Stretchex Stretch Lash Effect Mascara ($22).  The formula is gentle, lightweight and amazing with how its air polymer powder manages to find and wrap around each lash to build them up without clumping or stiffness just by working that wonderful curved brush.  My lashes looked longer from its silk proteins, more lush, blacker, and even had some additional curl to them once I finished after just one coat.  Even after rubbing my eyes, I am happy to say no flaking or smudging.
Touch in SOL Stretchex Mascara.jpeg
Stretchex really lengthens and adds ample volume!

The last product in my box was a One Second Vivid Lip Crayon ($16).  The one that I got was Hot Chili (bright red-orange), a highly-pigmented color that has a surprising amount of moisture for a satin matte finish crayon thanks to its phyto seed oil complex. There are three other shades in this line from Tulip Pink, Wild Tangerine to Yellow Bird.

This was my first time using any products from Touch in SOL, but now I am hooked after this experience.  I plan on looking into the All in One Beauty Aid Cream next with the cold weather inching closer.  Have you tried this beauty brand yet?  Do check their products out, especially that Stretchex Mascara because I promise that you’ll love Touch in SOL!

The Order of How You Apply Your Eyeliner and Shadows Matter When Perfecting Your Look!

woman with pretty eye makeup.jpeg
This beauty knows the secret of getting the most out of her makeup.

Here’s a simple makeup trick that will save you a bit of time when doing your eyes.  Lining your eyes before applying eye shadow can dull the color of that line.  However, you can often solve that little problem by reversing the order of using your eye shadow first and then laying down a better colored line.

This quick tip will only help give those eyes all the more alluring impact!

Mally Beauty's 5-Piece Holiday Starlight Collection.jpeg
Mally Beauty's 5-Piece Holiday Starlight Eyeliner Collection

Anyone with allergies can relate to watery, itchy eyes and the problem of keeping your eye makeup intact.  If you also suffer or have a habit of unintentionally rubbing your eyes and are looking for a superior set of eyeliner pencils, Mally Beauty’s 5-Piece Holiday Starlight Eyeliner Collection is the way to go!
As I shared with you earlier, my favorite form of eyeliner is the pencil since it is easier to control the thickness of the line.  However, choosing one with delicate eyes is not always that simple.  I discovered the Starlight Eyeliner Dark Chocolate pencils last year and continue to wear these award-winning pencils because they fit the bill perfectly.

Besides how gentle the Starlight pencils are, I love the fact that they are creamy enough to smudge before the product dries and also can double as a crease-proof shadow.  Just as important, these eyeliners really are waterproof and long lasting for many hours even through tears.

Even if you have all of Mally’s other shades of this pencil, this new Five-Piece Holiday Starlight Eyeliner Collection has five brand-new colors.  The shades are as follows: Mally’s Glow (shimmery bronze), Hunter (shimmery deep green), Toasted Sugar (gorgeous shimmery pink), Midnight Affair (shimmery softer black), and Plum Sapphire (shimmery plum and navy mix).  Now, I can brighten, widen, and play up the look of my dark brown eyes even more with these beautiful colors.

This collection also came with a gold cosmetic bag to keep my pencils in and a sharpener.

With all sincerity, you got to try this Mally Beauty 5-Piece Holiday Starlight Eyeliner Collection ($40) for yourself to see why I am so hyped about it.  Once you do, I’m sure that you’ll agree this set is a real beauty find that you can't afford to miss!

IT Cosmetics NEW Liner Love Waterproof Creme Gel Eyeliners (Espresso, Rich Plum) Review

**Disclaimer:  This post has been compensated through a free product (s) or monetary payment.  Opinions are solely mine. All links are "no-follow" links.**

IT Cosmetics Liner Love Waterproof Creme Gel Espresso Eyeliner.jpeg
IT Cosmetics  Liner Love Waterproof Creme Gel Espresso Eyeliner

Most of the time, I prefer eyeliner pencils for every day because of the control you have over the thick or thinness of the line. The fact you can smudge that line is something else that I like when trying to keep your look natural. Nights, however, I like to glam it up with more dramatic eyes and switch out pencils for eyeliner pens and liquid liners.

Though I am new to a creme gel form of eyeliner in a pot that you need to brush on, I needed to try IT Cosmetics new Liner Love Waterproof Creme Gel Eyeliners. After all, I rely on their No-Tug Waterproof Gel Eyeliner pencils ever since I reviewed them so I had to see how these would compare when you need to go all out gorgeous.

The company sent me Espresso (black-brown) and Rich Plum (intense purple bordering on black) and a Heavenly Luxe 10-in-1 Tightline Liner Brush to apply with. In the pots, these rich colors look lighter than when you start brushing.

Being a novice with this form, it took me a few bungled attempts with the brush before perfecting my line. Once I finally got the hang of this angled, two-sided brush, this eyeliner spread smoothly as I painted without tugging that fragile area.

At the same time, my eye area benefitted from IT Cosmetics anti-aging ingredients with its lash enhancing peptide, collagen, and vitamins for doing more than just beautifying them.

Both shades beautifully enhanced my dark brown eyes, but with the Espresso my eyes appear blacker while the Rich Plum made the brown color seem to show up.

I do think Liner Love Waterproof Creme Gel Eyeliners ($24) are wonderful for when you want to look extra special, especially for nighttime. They do require little more work and developing a knack with the Heavenly Luxe 10-in-1 Tightline Liner Brush ($24) but the results are worth it.

Review + SWATCHES: IT Cosmetics No-Tug Waterproof Gel Eyeliners (Black, Slate, Plum, Silk Taupe, Lucky Jade)

**Disclaimer:  This post has been compensated through a free product (s) or monetary payment.  Opinions are solely mine. All links are "no-follow" links.**

IT Cosmetics Gel Eyeliner (Lucky Jade).jpeg
This is IT Cosmetics No-Tug Waterproof Gel Lucky Jade Eyeliner.

When you think an eyeliner pencil can't get any better, those beauty innovators at IT Cosmetics come up with a more amazing one.  I am referring to their new line of No-Tug Waterproof Gel Eyeliners.  These little gems can do more for your eye glamour than you can possibly imagine and I can't wait to tell you why.

The answer lies in their revolutionary anti-aging formula.  With hydrolyzed collagen, silk, green tea, jojoba, pomegranate, aloe, chamomile, vitamins, avocado and cherry oils, this soft pencil glides against your eyelids like a dream as well as lasts all day without smearing, fading, or running!

If that is not enough, then wait until you see how well they work to smoke out your eyes.  After you line, you have about a minute or two to smudge for that smoldering effect before the formula sets.  After it does, you need to use a waterproof eye makeup remover to take it off because that liner isn't going anywhere, which made my day.

The range of rich colors can boggle your mind from matte to a bit of gleam.  Lucky Jade is forest-green surfacing from within inky black.  Black is a true coal-black.  Slate is a deep, smoldering gray.  Plum is black awakened with purple tones for a sizzling hot plum.  Silk Taupe has a bit of gleam to this gorgeous cool brown that seems to light your eyes up beyond belief.

Take an appreciative look at Plum.
Honestly, I can't rave enough about these five, but my favorite was the Silk Taupe for the incredible effect against my dark brown eyes.  Once you play with these, you are going to want them all--just as much as I do.

IT Cosmetics Gel Eyeliner (Silk Taupe).jpeg
I adore Silk Taupe.  What do you think of this shade?
Below I swatched all five pencils for you.

Starting at my wrist and working down my arm is Black, Slate, Plum, Silk Taupe, and ending with Lucky Jade on the left.

No-Tug Waterproof Gel Eyeliner retails for $22 on IT Cosmetics website.  You can also find these at QVC and QVC.com, Ulta Beauty, and the Shopping Channel and shoppingchannel.com.

Review: Mally Beauty Evercolor Starlight Waterproof Eyeliner 5-Piece Collection (Dark Chocolate)!

Disclaimer:  This post is based on a free product provided by a company as a press sample so that I may offer my own  opinion, which may be the same or differ from yours.
Mally Beauty Evercolor Starlight Waterproof Eyeliner.jpeg
Mally Beauty Evercolor Starlight Waterproof Eye Liner Pencil

Though eye liner pens and liquids can give you more dramatic results, I prefer the softer effect of pencils for daytime.  However, eye liner pencils are not created equally.  Some can be too hard to spread and tug that delicate skin of the eyes.  Then again, I also have found others that were softer than you liked and smeared like crazy.  Thank goodness, Mally Beauty came up with her Evercolor Starlight Waterproof Eye Liner Pencil because it is the perfect middle ground for defining eyes beautifully.

I received the Evercolor Starlight Waterproof Eyeliner 5-Piece Collection in Dark Chocolate.  What I really liked was how this deep brown pencil spread without the need to exert pressure on your lids for creating as thin or as thick of a line that you need.  This is a pencil you work with ease and count on for wonderful staying power.  It can smudge slightly through the coarse of a day, but for the most part I thought it brought out my eyes just the way I like with more subtle softness.

Mally's Most Wanted 5-Piece Starlight Eyeliner Collection comes with a sharpener in either choice of dark chocolate or black.  This set retails for $33 and is definitely worth checking out on QVC or Mally Beauty.
