When you are torn between the rich pigmentation of lipsticks over the shine of glosses, then a great alternative are liquid lipsticks such as  NYC New York Color Expert Last Lip Lacquers.  PR sent me #100 Bare Brooklyn, #300 Madison Square Mauve and #200 Chelsea Cherry Blossoms to sample.

For $3.99, you won’t believe the creamy color payoff in these tubes.  These wear very well for several hours before you’ll want to reapply.  The darker shade does give a stain like effect over time.

Madison Square Mauve is my favorite among the three, a medium plum-pink that is quite lovely with my light warm complexion.

The Bare Brooklyn is too ghostly a beige for my fair coloring.  This shade just washed my complexion out. Nonetheless, it probably will look more flattering on someone darker.

The Chelsea Cherry Blossoms was an eerily pale warm pink that was as indistinct in coloring as the Bare Brooklyn for me.  Again, a beautiful liquid lipstick only the shade did not suit me and would stand out beautifully for someone tanned or with darker skin.

Just keep in mind, these are lip lacquers and lay down heavier color than glosses to sheer them out when you are considering shades.

Check these NYC New York Color Lip Lacquers out the next time you visit your drug store or wherever you normally buy their products because this line is a bargain.

Lip color is one of the best ways to liven up a face and have fun with makeup.  The possibilities of what you can do varying your looks from natural, classic, sophisticated too bold and edgy is endless, especially when you single in on a wonderful formula of the product such as NYC New York Color’s Expert Last Lip Lacquers that can satisfy that beauty whim without crippling your budget!

Don't be under the impression that this product will be lacking since it retails for a mere $3.99. I found rich color on the order of a liquid lipstick that felt creamy, lightweight, and quite moisturizing.  These will hold up for several hours or until eating before fading into a becoming stain.

Wait until you hear about the gorgeous colors.  The ones I got were #600 Turtle Bay Toffee (warm brown in the tube that transforms beautifully on the lips with some red), #201 Lincoln Square Love Affair (cool-toned bright pink that looks more of a tulip shade in the tube than on the lips), #700 Tribeca Mocha (mocha laced with copper that makes a fabulous neutral), and #204 Central Park Passion (romantic and a subdued natural pink).

Red Apple Lipstick

A few months ago, I discovered Red Apple Lipstick Company and their wonderful lipsticks and glosses.  Of course, they have a stunning selection of moisture-rich shades that drench lips in hydrating comfort, but the purity of their nontoxic formulations makes the products from this certified vegan company even more beautiful in my book.

This is a company that makes it their mission to safeguard our health, manufacturing with strict control here in the United States instead of abroad where regulations may be less than acceptable.  All their cruelty-free products have no gluten, parabens, soy, or fragrance to best safeguard against allergies.

I was sent the six new lipstick colors for Fall/Winter 2013 and must confess they are must-haves!  Check out the photo below.  Starting on the left is Swoon (a bit of brown, hint of plum topped off with a touch of copper), then Reddish Fetish (a lively berry-red), Fierce (a bold, deep wine), Barcelona (a medium red-brown like red brick), Light My Fire (copper-red), and ending with Ravishing (glamorous red-pink) on the right.

Though I loved all of these shades, Reddish-Fetish is one of my favorites below.  It has warmth and versatility to make it work with any outfit.  Do you agree?

I also got to try two of Red Apple's lip care products.  The first is their Exfoliate Stick.  This white tube with blue granules is what you need to smooth your lips and rid yourself of dry skin before applying any of these great lipsticks.  Later, I just wiped it off with a clean cloth and got a prettier surface.  By the way, this little tube also helps make your lipstick application last even longer!

Rallye Balm is an intensive healing balm that your chapped lips will demand once you try it out.  My lips loved the pampering from their formula.

Red Apple Lipstick is a great way to indulge your lipstick habit.  They have all the stylish colors you demand with ingredients that can give you peace of mind.  The Exfoliate Stick retails for $17, Rallye Balm ($15), and the lipsticks shown are ($23.50) each.

You can also save 20% off your purchase if you enroll in their Red Apple VIP Club, where you'll get monthly email with another 20% off an online coupon.

The company so believes in helping you discover safer lip products that they offer a wonderful trade-in policy.  Simply send them your old tube plus $5.00 shipping and handling for that new Red Apple one.

The holiday season is when you want to look especially glamorous.  If you haven't tried any of their products yet, I highly recommend visiting Red Apple Lipstick to learn more and then do order!

Look for my upcoming review of Red Apple Lipstick's gorgeous Fall/Winter 2013 Eye Shadows!

For Lips With Dazzling Impact--Beauté Cosmetics Lip Products to Glam It Up Like a Hollywood Star! (Review)--Photos + SWATCHES

Beaute Cosmetics Liquid Gel Stain for Lips and Cheeks.jpeg
Beaute Cosmetics Liquid Gel Stain for Lips and Cheeks (Flouron BCLS 500)

When products from Beauté Cosmetics arrived from their Desert Collection, my first thought what was it they thinking with such a shocking bright orange neon color for lip gloss?  Another tube was a pale beige that I feared would make me looked drained of blood like an extra in a vampire movie.  Last of the lippies I received was more what I was used to being this ready to wow, knockout deep red.  Yet, I was met with a big surprise.  When you look at the colors in the tubes you see one thing and once on the lips, you see another so incredible it dazzles.

I can't contain my excitement, especially when it comes to their Liquid Gel Stain for Lips and Cheeks.  That wild orange shade of Flouron BCLS 500 that I almost was afraid to wear changed within a few minutes into this gorgeous tulip sort of medium pink once this highly pigmented stain touched my lips.  This color was striking and a perfect choice for summer with how it really played up my warm complexion.

Since this is a stain, the feeling was drier than a gloss or a lipstick, but you can layer it like I chose to.  Beauté Cosmetics  has suggestions of color combinations that work well together.   I also think topping with some clear gloss or lip balm was also a lovely effect.

Here I am modeling Flouron in this photo.

modeling Beaute Cosmetics Flouron Liquid Gel Stain.jpeg
Here I'm modeling Flouron Liquid Gel Stain.

Long wear lipsticks move aside because this stain wears through eating, drinking, and until you decide to take it off.  Don't worry about finding any color on your glass or cups because Beauté's formula is incredible.  Besides, this one, there are three other stain choices available.

When you use this product on your cheeks, you need to work quickly on your freshly moisturized face since there is only about 12 seconds before it dries.  The easiest method I found was dropping a little moisturizer in your hand and dab color near it before hurrying to combine then blending with your fingertips.  Wash your hands immediately to avoid staining.

I also had the opportunity to try one of their six Weightless Lip Creme in Masochist WLC 110.  This is one of the best lippies for such pampering creamy comfort and for chic, riveting color that I have ever tried.  I am talking about an all out, true dark red so captivating that all eyes can't help but focus on you.  The company describes this color as Helmut Newton Red.  I, on the other hand, just refer to it as that perfect showstopper red with such a dreamy lightweight texture.

Check out Masochist in the next photo below.

Just as fantastic is how this highly hydrating formula also seemed to make my lips look somewhat fuller with its collagen stimulating ability and zero pain compared to some plumping lip glosses.

What do you think of me wearing Masochist?

Instead of pumping to disperse the product, your task is easier with a doe-foot sponge applicator.   Something else wonderful about Masochist is you can do a full coat or apply and blot for more of a sheer stain and then finish with clear gloss.

You'll also love how long this non-sticky, beautiful Weightless Lip Creme color can last.  This color lasted on me for hours after dinner last night without fading, smearing, and ending up on my teeth.  In fact, I swiped most of it off before I went to bed and the color I left was still there in the morning.

Out of the 12 Luminous Volume Glosses, I received Skin Trade 004.   Seriously, I was shocked at how this went from a sickly pale beige to a sheer peach-nude color that is so versatile.  I don't know how the company manages that beautiful transformation from tube color to lips, but I am impressed at their technology with this feat. This gloss can also help give your lips a slightly fuller appearance, which I also appreciated.

In this photo, I am holding Beaute Cosmetics Luminous Volume Gloss (Skin Trade 004).

This one has a brush inside. The only complaint is a few of those bristle bent, but it didn't ruin my application.  I just would have preferred the doe-foot applicator.

Here I am wearing Skin Trade to show you.

This is my first experience of using Beauté Cosmetics.  After trying these lip products, I honestly am a fan.  You, see, my enthusiasm just can't be contained.  I definitely want more!

The Liquid Gel Stain retails for $29.  Weightless Lip Cremes sell for $26 and the Luminous Volume Glosses run $26 as well.  Have you tried these products because I can't recommend them highly enough!  Visit Beauté Cosmetics to shop or find where else to buy.  Connect with them on Facebook or Twitter.

Unleashing Some Lippie Love--Mineral Fusion Natural Brands Lip Products Review--Photos--Swatches!

Mineral Fusion Natural Brands logo.jpeg
Mineral Fusion

My lips were so happy when they met up with some great new lip products from Mineral Fusion Natural Brands.  Today, I want to tell you about what to expect from their  Lip Sheer and Regular Lipsticks, Lip Glosses, Liquid Lip Glosses, and a couple of their Lip Pencils that I had the chance to review.

Both varieties of their lipsticks went on smoothly and felt nicely conditioning while I had them on from Shea butter, jojoba seed oil, pomegranate, red and white teas, and vitamins C and E.   Furthermore, either type did stay on my lips without disappearing into my skin and lasted from early morning until I ate some off along with my lunch.

The two Lip Sheer Lipsticks I received were Exotic (a lovely medium pink-peach) and Inspire (a pretty cool-toned pink).  Though the colors look darker in the tubes, these deliver a beautiful wash of color.

Alluring, one of the eight Lipsticks in the line had more pigment and gave me striking plum-wine lips.  In the photo below, Alluring is on the left, Inspire is in the middle and Exotic is on the right.

Their Liquid Lip Glosses come in a tube with an angled tip that you apply with for extreme shine whether colorless like Polished or with color.  Sensitive, one of the five colors, is deep berry-red that will make your lips drip and tempt with fruit-like sweetness.

These really feel so comfortable on your lips with their nourishing botanicals that include sunflower oil, vitamin E, and plenty of antioxidants to also protect them.

I also think applying gloss from the tube itself this way poses less risk for contamination as it would when inserting a sponge in and out of gloss.

Mineral Fusion two Liquid Lip Glosses.jpeg

I did find two tubes of Lip Gloss in Serene  and Sheen among the items provided.  These are the type of gloss that you pull out a sponge wand to color your lips.  Sheen was so natural a pink-brown with a tad of peach that really flattered.  Serene was a deeper berry-pink shade that probably could perk up most complexions with how it manages to light up a face.

This form of their gloss had a slightly less moisturizing feel upon my lips compared to the Liquid Lip Gloss.

I also tested two of their four shades of Lip Pencils with Graceful (nude with a bit more brown and on the top in the photo below) and Elegant (a pink-brown).  These pencils spread well without being too dry and did help me keep lipstick and glosses from wandering over my lips.

All these products were wonderful in my opinion, but I think my favorite was their Liquid Lip Gloss.  You get stunning vinyl like shine and it feels like a lip care treatment while keeping you beautiful.

Sally Hansen's Diamond 12-Hour Lip Treatment Lip Glosses Review

Sally Hansen's Diamond 12-Hour Lip Treatment Lip Glosses.jpeg
Sally Hansen's Diamond 12-Hour Lip Treatment Lip Glosses

I also got to work with two of the Sally Hansen Diamond 12-Hour Lip Treatment Lip Glosses.   Baquette is the first tube, the perky bright pink in my  photo.  Fancy is a bronze with-pink with a hint of red dancing in the mix to stir the shade up that is beneath in the photo.  What I noticed was these were a thicker type of gloss than their Twist 2-in-1 Primer Moisture + Color Lip Gloss with a sweet taste and heavier color coverage with just the right amount of shine and shimmer from the microfine diamonds in this formula.  The brush of this variety was smaller, but I had no problem working it to spread the color on my lips.

What else I found were my lips using the Diamond 12-Hour Lip Treatment Lip Glosses felt very moisturized for quite a while.  I wouldn't go as far to say this lasted for 12-hours because I am yet to find any lip gloss or lipstick that could accomplish that miracle as of yet.  However, I did my lips felt better treated after it wore off  than with some other plain lip glosses than I have also used.

As you guess, I really liked the Diamond 12-Hour Lip Treatment Lip Glosses but in a different way than the Moisture Twist 2-in-1 Primer + Color Lip Glosses, depending on your needs.

Review: NYC New York Color Cosmetics--Some Must Haves!

**Disclaimer:  This post has been compensated through a free product (s) or monetary payment.  Opinions are solely mine. All links are "no-follow" links.**

NYC New York Color Cosmetics group.jpeg
NYC New York Color Cosmetics Smooth Skin Liquid Makeup, City Duel 2-in-1 Lipsticks and Smooch Proof 16 Hour Lip Stains

Do you want to look great without breaking the bank? You may think only premier lines with their fancy packaging can make this happen. However, you may be surprised at the excellent cosmetics that you can find for hardly a fraction of those high end brands at your drug store like NYC New York Color.

Yesterday, I shared my feelings regarding some of their new NYC New York Color eye products.  Today, I wanted to give you my take on the other products I was sent to work with for this review.

The NYC New York Color Smooth Skin Liquid Makeup in Barely Beige exceeded my wildest expectations for a foundation with its beautiful medium coverage and natural satiny finish.   Choosing a shade can be difficult whether online or in the stores with their lighting, but this shade was just right for my light skin with yellow undertones as well.   Furthermore, I was impressed at how nicely it held up throughout a hot summer day without melting or settling into lines.  It was hard to believe this can be had for $2.99.

On the other hand, this foundation is rather thick for a liquid, almost nearing a cream in consistency.  A tube container or a pump for the bottle would have made it easier to get it out of the bottle.  Despite that slight fault, I still love this product for the luminous look it gives.

I experimented with the NYC New York Color Cheek Glow Blush  in West Side Wine as wellThis is a  smooth powder blush with a matte finish.   The color is a natural medium dusky rose with a bit of plum that was gorgeous, especially with my light warm complexion.  In fact, this shade looks darker in the container than once you sweep it on your cheeks, but you can build on this nicely for the intensity you want.  Like most blushes that still come with a brush, I suggest using your own separately purchased brush.

The Sun 'n' Bronze Bronzing Powder in Hamptons Radiance was what I tested next.  This has strips of shimmering pink-peach-beige-brown and soft beiges in one compact.  When you swirl these colors together, you can get a striking combination of gleaming color best for shining some pearly soft pink-peach light to highlight cheekbones or for wearing at night.

The Color Wheel Mosaic Face Powder All Over Bronze Glow was a matte palette of varying browns, beiges,  and sort of a brick color.  This is more of a bronzing powder than a face powder that has a fine texture to it that with a few simple sweeps of your brush can give a  healthy sun-kissed glow without a shimmer.  I really liked this product except this particular color choice was slightly dark for my light skin.  Nonetheless, I could still wear this more for contouring only I needed to use a light hand because this is quite pigmented.

Something fun was NYC New York Colors new City Duel 2-in-1 Lip Color, a creamy lipstick split in half with two different shades!  The Rock A Fellas is a lively coral paired up with almost a ripe strawberry shade that can dress your mouth with delicious color.  The other one I received was The Cherry Blossoms, a pearly rose opposite a deeper rose laced with magenta.  How you wear these is up to you from applying one side at a time to do your entire mouth or mixing upper lip with one side and the lower lip with the other.  Whatever route you take, the effects are dazzling because you can get very creative to custom design your lips.

Another new lip product that you should consider is their Smooch Proof 16 Hour LipStain, which is fabulous for its lasting powder and precision applicator with its fine point, almost like a felt tip marker. Persistent Pink  is a pretty medium pink.  Coral Reef is an awesome juicy shade of pink-peach  that reminds me of a rip tropical fruit.  Use it to deliver a sheer color or give it another coat and it will be a deeper shade that has amazing durability for a good part of the day.

Unlike some other brands that I have used, the Smooch Proof 16 Hour LipStain isn't as drying either.  Add some lip balm or clear gloss over it to crank up the shine.   Reapply the gloss after eating and this will keep your stained lips beautiful and conditioned even longer.

If you overlooked NYC New York Colors in the past, then it's a shame.  These products that I have been testing are truly beauty finds and great values.  I do hope you pick some up because you won't be disappointed once you do!
