Review: NEW Keune Press Wax, Texture and Thickening Creams for Help on the Hair Front!

Hair can be finicky and not always do what you want.  Instead of letting it control you, the way to overcome any hair challenge is with quality professional styling products like those from one of my favorite brands, Keune.   Recently, the company sent along three of their newest styling products with their Press Wax, Texture and Thickening Creams to see what I thought.  Stick around because these three little gems are amazing what they did for my hair.

Though I don’t have fine, thin hair, I do have layers cut into my thick hair that also has some natural curl to it, which boosts to life differently for fullness and effect depending on what type of styling product I use. Keune’s Thickening Cream worked quite well in making my curls fuller while providing some beautiful shine. For using the amount equivalent to about the size of a silver dollar to do my whole, still damp head after shampooing, my hair didn’t feel sticky or weighed down with product once I dried it.

Keune's Press Wax is a liquid wax only in a spray form.  This was nice for my long, layered bang area.  It has what I consider a medium hold and gives hair plenty of gloss along with it. What I found especially great about this product was I just aimed the can where hair needed more hold and this instantly took care of it.

I love the versatile styling options using texture creams for control and shaping.  With Keune’s Texture Cream, I can do both from taming my long sideswept of forceful, down-growing bangs to creating new looks. This product gives hair a strong hold.  At the same time, your style later on will be intact once you take a brush to it.

If you are tired of trusting your hair to just any brand of styling product because it has let you down, I share your frustration.  However, what I like about Keune and their line is that it assures that your hair always will look good.  Do yourself a favor and try these styling products because you will notice a difference!  

One Drugstore Beauty BB Cream You Got to Try–New York Color’s Smooth Skin BB Creme Review

When looking for an exceptional BB cream you may think only the high-end brands can suffice to blur out flaws, hydrate and brighten your complexion.  However, I say give NYC New York Color's Smooth Skin BB Creme a shot because this product is definitely worth trying.

Since I heard that the Light (01) shade was practically white-beige, I wanted to sample both choices to see which was more appropriate for my fair to light beige complexion. Light (01) was an ideal match.  The Medium (02) is a slightly darker beige and closer to a light-medium than a true medium.

Some might assume a $3.99 price for this product could hardly make it capable of delivering the kind of glowing, dewy coverage that you need.  Yet, this BB Cream may surprise you in how well its thicker formula masks little imperfections with medium coverage as it evens out and brightens your complexion in the process.

My face looked fresher as well without appearing like I had on makeup.  In fact, this great natural coverage didn't settle in lines to amplify them during the hours I wore it, which also impressed me.  Furthermore, when I took this product off, my face felt somewhat softer to the touch as well.

The only fault that I can find regarding this product is that unlike the more expensive formulations that it does not possess any SPF protection.  Still, you can remedy that problem easily enough by adding your sunscreen separately or through your SPF daily moisturizer.

If you're looking to experiment with a new and very reasonable BB Cream that delivers, I highly recommend trying NYC New York Color's Smooth Skin BB Creme!

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Colour Rush Balms Review–Photos + SWATCHES!

Lip crayons seem to be the rage these days for all the added benefits they can provide over a traditional lipstick.  Now Rimmel London has entered the arena with their new line of fourteen Lasting Finish Colour Rush Balms to tempt us with. I got to sample four of them for this review: #100 Give Me a Cuddle, #620 Lady Marmalade, #710 Drive Me Nude, and #130 I Want Candy.

These crayons had a bit firmer consistency than some other crayons that I have used that made for beautiful application, especially wonderful for keeping within the outline of the lips. I also noticed how lightweight this yummy vanilla formula felt for something that deposited that much incredible color.  Best of all, these lip balms bathed dry lips in lasting moisture and hung in there for hours even through eating, which turned the color into more of a stain.

I swatched the colors for you in the photo below.  Starting closest to my wrist and working down my arm is #620 Lady Marmalade (lively orange), #130 I Want Candy (cool-toned medium pink), then #710 Drive Me Nude (warm pink-brown) and ending with #100 Give Me a Cuddle (warm medium pink).

If you take a close look at #710 Drive Me Nude, the shade appears beige-nude in the tube. However, it instantly became this lovely, natural pink-brown nude color.  As to my favorite, I would say that it is a tie between this nude and #100 Give Me a Cuddle for the natural freshness they can bring to your look.

If you haven't tried these new lippies from Rimmel London, I advise a trip to your drug store is in order because they are quite nice to have.  The only problem you will find is deciding among all those gorgeous shades!

My Father’s Day Fragrance Pick – L’Occitane en Provence’s NEW Cade Eau de Toilette and Pebble Soaps (Review)

Father’s Day will be here before you know it.  Many of you will be scrambling for gift ideas on what to get that special guy.  If you’re thinking of giving fragrance, rest assured that you can always count on Mary B. to track down the best new fragrances for you like Cade, a warm, earthy scent from L’Occitane en Provence that is sophisticated, but haunting with its comforting softness of spice and woods.  

This is a timeless fragrance that is everything a woman wants a man to smell like with its raw sensuality and underlying innate power.   Manly, yet grounded, you can’t help but be drawn to its appeal.

Cade has an aromatic herbal opening with sunny notes of juniper, thyme, and rosemary. The addition of bergamot lends a fresh air to the mix, which is so inviting.

When the heart notes of cedar wood emerge along with ones of pink pepper, the fragrance gains such natural magnetism that you will need to get closer.  You can’t help be attracted to its warmth and smoothness.  Equally so, you are intrigued as well by something you can’t pinpoint.  

There is something about Cade’s laid back male confidence that keeps seducing without trying. By the time the cade wood slowly starts to burn in the base, you feel consumed by that heat and passion until nothing else matters except losing your control to its intoxicating spell.

Cade Eau de Toilette ($55) was a hit with this perfumista.  If you’re looking for an appealing fragrance that doesn’t reek of some heavy blend to be manly, this is a lighter but smooth, herbal and woody scent that, ladies, you need to check out when buying Father’s Day gifts.  

L’Occitane en Provence has three wonderful gift sets featuring this fragrance plus a Limited Edition Box of three Pebble Soaps ($24) with Cade, Verdon (soft with an aquatic feel), and L’Occitan (a nice herbal with lavender).  I highly recommend picking something up from this collection!
