Borghese Eclissare Summer 2015 Collection Will Excite All Beauty Lovers (Review) + SWATCHES!

Makeup for Summer 2105 is about keeping the look fresh and natural with riveting smokey eyes and tempting fruity lips. After all, what is summer beauty without a sun-kissed glow that will light up your face and add that certain splash of extra sparkle and sexy mystery to play off of that radiance?

When Borghese reached out and asked if they could send me a gift, I was more than pleased since this is one of my favorite brands.  However, I  had no idea what they were sending, but PR graciously shared nine of their Eclissare Summer 2015 Collection cosmetics with me–-and now I will share their vision of summer beauty with you.  

This is the season that you’ll want to replace your heavier foundations with a lighter formulation like a tinted moisturizer, CC or a BB cream.  Borghese’s Summer Glow Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 ($29.50) really is a nice way to go.  This product has enough dewy coverage and a subtle gleam, illuminating the complexion with a natural dose of healthy radiance as it smooths over less than perfect skin without suffocating the pores.  It is not some thin cream, but an oil-free formula with a thicker consistency almost like a gel-cream as it dispenses from its tube.

When I first squeezed out the color for the swatch, I thought this universal shade looked entirely too dark.  I was so wrong because once I started blending this tinted moisturizer into my fair to light complexion, it evened out my complexion so well that it became a part of me, without looking artificial in the least, only more glowing like I spent some genuine time in the sun.    

As you can see, the color of Borghese Summer Glow Tinted Moisturizer appears dark when I first squeezed some out for this swatch.  Next to it, I started blending to show you the beautiful change.

It was hard to imagine a more beautiful effect–-that is until I grabbed the Kabuki Brush ($25) from its handy travel case and sampled the Eclissare Color Eclipse ColorRise Blush ($30) in my box.  This long-wearing blush comes in four colors.  I received Flight, which is a deep bronze with gold radiance.  This is a very pigmented, silky blush with a lovely shimmer within its red-brown depths that warmed my complexion a bit further like I leisurely enjoyed a relaxing day in the sun.

For the eyes, I was thrilled to find their Eclissare Color Eclipse Five Shades of Fresh Eye Shadow Palette ($29).  These are luxurious shadows that go on smoothly besides also blending easily and wearing well through a long day, especially when you prime.

  The colors are smoldering smokey shades in this set of khaki and olive tones set off with a gold shimmer that couldn’t have been coordinated any better for working with a tan.

From left to right is Tender, Raw, Sass, Fierce, and finishing with Wild on the right.  The shades in my photo look more gray for some reason than olive-toned.

Tender is a soft neutral khaki satin with champagne infused through it.
Raw is stunning, light yellow-olive satin of a color.
Sass is a mid-tone olive sort of green infused with gold and black multidimensional pearl.
Fierce is deep, dark-olive, satin-matte with tones of gray.
Wild is a neutral khaki-gold shimmer.    

Starting from the left to right is Tender, Raw, Sass, Wild, and  ending with Fierce closest to my wrist.

Borghese Superiore State-of-the-Art Mascara 

To further enhance that smokey beauty, I got a tube of their Borghese Superiore State-of-the-Art Waterproof Mascara ($19.50).  What I liked about this gentle formula was the natural and lush look that my lashes got even after one coat.  It has a great brush for better lengthening and defining lashes more than volumizing, which you should keep in mind if you prefer one that creates bold, dramatic eyes.  Furthermore, it never caused my eyes to tear, smudge, or flake despite rubbing them and was easier to remove than some waterproof formulas I have used before.

Summer lips need to be ripe with fresh inviting color like Swoon, a gleaming peach among the 12 shades of Eclissare Color Eclipse ColorStruck Lipstick ($25) that was a fabulous choice to set off those smokey olive shadows and a tan. This lipstick has a creamy, moisturizing feel along with some fabulous, multidimensional pearl peeking through the shades that do seem to help with the illusion of fuller lips.  This lippie also was long-wearing and held on for the most part through eating.

I only wish that this shade had been slightly deeper for me to wear right now with my pale complexion.  I am anxious to experiment with rest of the darker colors, especially Halo, Cusp, and Dare next.

Last by not least, I got an Eclissare Color Eclipse ColorGlass Lip Gloss in Gilt ($21.50) from the nine shades.  This is a type of thicker gloss that give lips vinyl like shine with intense shimmer power immersed in a rich, but sheer wash of multidimensional color.

As to the color of Gilt, I would describe it having sparkling orange, gold, and silver within its gossamer peach-bronze depths.  Though you could wear it alone, I think it looks better layered over darker lipsticks than by itself.

Though sticky just a tad, this gloss did adhere to my lips better than I expected for a gloss without getting on teeth or leaving the lip line.  It also had normal wear time from when I applied in the morning until lunch when needing a new application.

I have been wearing this brand for years and always loved their cosmetics especially for their exceptional rich colors.   This Eclissare Summer Collection is already tempting me with other shades and products that I want.  If you haven’t tried any Borghese yet, I recommend starting with these because they’ll keep you stunning.

Review: Covergirl’s Super Sizer Mascara and Intensify Me Liquid Liner By Lashblast

Covergirl offered to send me some product to try.  I was clueless about what they would be shipping, but I do love surprises and new cosmetics to play with.  When their box arrived, I found two of their newest Lashblast products, a Super Sizer Mascara and an Intensify Me! Liquid Liner that will soon or just may be on store shelves now where you buy their products.

The Super Sizer Mascara is advertised to give your lashes 400% corner-to-corner volume.  This turquoise tube features a different sort of brush with a much thinner wand of short, spiny, and more sparsely spaced plastic bristles that do slightly widen up at the tip than what I am used to wearing.

You need to change the way you apply this mascara from how you normally do. What you do is slowly begin to twirl the wand from the base as you go.  Mastering the twirl takes getting used to, but once you do practice, this mascara does do a marvelous job for lengthening, building volume somewhat and managing to get all those tiny lashes at the corners that are always so hard to get.  However, if you try deviating from this method, then you run into problems and will blame this mascara, which is a shame for what stuff can do for your lashes.  

I didn’t have any complaints with how it wore either.  When I went to wash it out later that day, I had no smudging  and saw a few flakes.  It does take more than soap and water to make this mascara budge.  I used eye makeup remover for an easier time.

The Intensify Me Liquid Liner is something else unusual with its special, paddle-sided tip that I really liked.  It sports a broad side when you want to create thickness and just by flipping that paddle tip, you have a thinner side to work with to do finer lining.

This liner does dry fast so you need to be quick to lay down your line.  It did go on smooth for me.  Other than that, I thought it was a nice product for fashioning a more dramatic, bold look for thickness yet with a polished edge from how you can finish your corners. 
  
Nonetheless, if you are experiencing a problem with this liner try tugging your eyelid upward as you apply and dotting the black in closely to do a connected line makes it easier. 

This eye liner held up well in the hours I had it on without cracking, smearing, or fading for me. 

I did like my new Covergirl Intensify Me Liquid Liner and the Super Sizer Mascara.  Check them out when you see them in your stores and give them a try.
