With all the holiday partying that is in your near future, you might want to add more sparkle and shine to your normal makeup, fitting this festive season.  Let me show you some quick ways from Mehron, a long-established brand known for their theatrical makeup and beauty products for movies and fashion, because when it comes to beautiful effects their Precious Gem Powders can be the solution for providing a luminescent jewel-like luster to wherever area you want!

These are highly pigmented, loose glowing powders that come in a shaker jar. I received three from the line in Black Onyx (smoky deep gray), Garnet (rusty-rose) and Topaz (golden glow).

From left to right is  Black Onyx, Garnet with Topaz on the right.

These sparkling powders have a fine, silky consistency and blend well.  This trio did create a pretty eye, but it also was fun to play with the Garnet and Topaz on my cheeks.  However, if you do prefer to use these powders just on your eyes, then do prime your lids first to extend the wear.

Do visit the Mehron website and check their Precious Gem Powders line out.

If you’re looking how to get as much bang out of your beauty dollar as possible when shopping for enchanting lip colors, then you would love the two Mehron L.I.P. Color Cream Day and Night Palettes that showed up my door.  These eight lip shade palettes not only have a rainbow of amazing creamy, matte colors to play up your lips in style, but the pigment is so intense that it wears like a stain.

The Day L.I.P. Color Cream Palette has a range more appropriate for everyday shades with a variety of pinks, neutrals, mauves to some peachy tones of orange and coral. The colors include Cotton Candy, (light cool pink with some mauve), Bubble Gum (warmer, brighter light pink), Sunburst (coral-pink that appears almost a strawberry color once applied), Zinnia (peachy-orange with hints of copper), Autumn Sun (copper-orange), Natural (pink-brown sort of nude that almost just the right dose of mauve), Petal Pink (rosy-mauve), and Fiesta (flattering medium violet-pink).

Going from  left to right are the eight colors in the L.I.P. Color Cream Night Palette starting with Cherry Chocolate, Cherrywood, Velvet Rose, Wild Plum, Big Apple, Raspberry, Valentine, and then Poppy before working up my wrist with the eight shades in the Day Palette with Fiesta, Petal Pink, Natural, Autumn Sun, Zinnia, Sunburst, Bubble Gum and ending with Cotton Candy on the far right.

Just as enticing is what Mehron put together with the eight shades in their L.I.P. Color Cream Night Palette. This is a luscious collection of reds, burgundies, wines, plums to berries they gathered to help you turn heads when it comes to holiday beauty. How can you go wrong with shades like Poppy (strawberry-red), Valentine (deeper red-orange), Raspberry (red-pink), Big Apple (true red), Wild Plum (violet-plum), Velvet Rose (rich Bordeaux), Cherrywood (burgundy-wine), and ending with Cherry Chocolate (wine with brown tones)?

I also love how easy it is to customize your own lipsticks with either palette.  All I do is to take that brush and mix different combinations to create countless looks.

I won’t kid you but these lip creams can feel a bit dry like any matte lipstick formulas that you have tried. However, I solve this easily enough with applying some lip balm first.

The company includes not only a mirror, but a lip brush in these sturdy palettes for convenience, which I so appreciate.  Face it, we don’t often find brushes packaged with our cosmetics, which is wrong.  At least, Mehron understands this is the right thing to do!

You’ll save so much time sorting through a hoard of lip products for specific lipstick shades with either of these Mehron L.I.P. Color Cream Day and Night Palettes ($43.95).  Do visit their website and look into getting these for yourself or any woman on your gift list because they are real finds if you ask me.

Review + SWATCHES: Mehron Makeup INtense PRO Pressed Powder Pigments (Wind) Eye Shadows Palette

Mehron Makeup INtense PRO Pressed Powder Pigments (Wind) Eye Shadows Palette.jpeg
Mehron Makeup INtense PRO Pressed Powder Pigments (Wind) Palette with colors that can be as bold or as delicately sheer.as you need.

Recently, I received some products from Mehron, the company that is mostly famous for their theatrical makeup.  One that immediately caught my eye was the eight pan Wind INtense PRO Pressed Powder Pigments Eye Shadows Palette

At first glance, I thought the matte colors were rather a bit too bright.  However, I was pleasantly surprised once I took the great brush this palette has to them.  The colors that I swatched laid down sheer layers of each of those bold, vivid colors beautifully that could just as easily be built up for a more dramatic look, if so desired. Using a primer first will intensify the richness of the color significantly so keep that in mind.

These shadows are soft, buttery and are wonderful to blend without creating a powder dust storm as you apply unless you tend to pile it on.  Being the case, I suggest using the brush and gently pat the pigment as you go.  If you do so, this minimizes that problem.

The colors in the Wind palette:

Hurricane Blue–dark royal blue
Island Breeze--medium burnt orange
Palm–deep olive-toned green with some yellow that looks brighter green in the pan
Turbulent–medium warm brown
Tornado–is a medium red-plum color, but in the pan looks more purple lavender
Solar Wind–is a mustard-yellow
Ocean Breeze–ocean blue
Tropical Storm–medium teal green

Below, I swatched the colors for you.

Starting on the right is Tornado, then Tropical Storm, Ocean Breeze, Palm,Turbulent, Island Breeze, Solar Wind, and ending with Hurricane Blue on the right.

My favorite way to use this palette was keeping that gossamer effect so that the colors seemed to wash over the lids in gorgeous, gauzy layers as I mixed shades of various pans.
Then again, when I going for an edgier look and wanted extended wear, I primed my lids before applying and then adding more shadow.

There are two other shade selections in this palette called Earth and Fire.  I didn’t get those to try, but would have loved to sample them.  The colors appear to have a deeper range.

For my first experience with this brand, I was extremely pleased with this eye shadow palette and will keep on using it.  Do check out Mehron and the Intense Pro Pressed Powder Pigments Eye Shadows Palette ($52.95).
