The Dirty Truth About Facial Cleansers You May Be Unaware of!

How much do you trust your favorite type of cleanser for purging those pores of ALL unwanted grime? 

We all have our own favorite type of facial cleanser whether it is the convenience of face or makeup wipes, a creamy cleanser, oil cleanser or a foaming one from plain soap to a cleanser that rinses off with water.  Yet, do you know how well that particular preference of yours is cleaning everything off?  

For instance, makeup wipes are fantastic when you’re exhausted and need the quickest way to remove a face load of products in one step.  The only problem is that you’re not really purging your pores of all traces of makeup and those cleanser ingredients that could be lingering on your face, despite what you see on that used wipe.

This product is really incredible with how quickly it can dissolve stubborn makeup, especially waterproof eye products as well as condition skin at the same time.  Being an oil, the Immortelle Oil Makeup Remover is very greasy after you pump a bit into your hand.  It does lather some when your rub your hands together before applying to your dry face and eyes.  Then you need to massage it in.   Later, I just rinsed it off and found how nicely that immortelle essential oil worked for softness and comfort without any traces of grease, only with beautiful hydration. 

The Immortelle Precious Mist ($16) was just the thing my dry complexion thrived on for a quick boost of hydrating freshness during the day or after cleansing whether I went barefaced or used to set my makeup. With summer coming, this can be a skin savior with its immortelle floral water and hyaluronic acid for making my complexion feel good and glowing.

All I can say is to visit L’Occitane’s website or one of their boutiques and try these products for yourself.  I do think once you test them personally that you will be glad you took my advice.

Dermalogica PreCleanse Oil and Wipes to #DoubleCleanse! (Review)

Dermalogica PreCleanse Wipes and PreCleanse Oil

I have used Dermalogica skin care products before, but this was a first for experimenting with their PreCleanse Oil and Wipes for a deep, thorough removal of  makeup, including the stubborn waterproof variety and sunscreen.  I got the chance as a member of iFabbo to test it and share what I thought.

I did grab the PreCleanse Wipes first.  They are pre-moistened but somewhat drier than some other makeup wipes that I used in the past. However,  when I took this wipe to my drier, but made-up face, I discovered it melted away the cosmetics and waterproof mascara easily enough.  All that was left for me to do was to pump some of my regular cleanser and rinse.  

With the PreCleanse Oil, I just poured a little in the palm of my dry hands and rubbed over the makeup still on my face, including the eye area since I was wearing waterproof mascara.  I let the product sit for about a minute before wetting my hands, which turns this light oil into a milky cream.  To finish, I pumped out some of my water-rinsing makeup cleanser.  Since I did not see any sign of my remaining waterproof mascara this time as well,  I did skip the waterproof makeup remover.

Normally, I use a water-rinsing makeup cleanser, waterproof eye makeup remover before finishing with soap and water.  In colder months, I do use an oil-based cleanser and tissue it instead of the water-rinsing variety before washing with soap and water.  My last step to remove all last possible traces of makeup and product left behind has been with a cotton ball moistened with a toner.

This double-cleanse route for makeup removal with these products did leave the skin feeling extra soft and pampered, but as far as how much cleaner is hard to judge.  The only way that you will know for sure is to try Dermalogica PreCleanse Oil and Wipes on your complexion and compare their performance.
