Earth Therapeutics Pro-Organic Purifying Body Wash and Purifying Exfoliating Gloves Review: A Clean You Can Count on

purifying-body-wash-and-exfoliating-gloves.jpeg
These two products offer a thorough, invigorating deep clean.

Something delightful that I was sent lately was the Pro-Organic Purifying Body Wash and Purifying Exfoliating Gloves from Earth Therapeutics to bathe with.  This bath gel has a light fruity-floral fragrance while offering deeper clean from the medicinal bamboo charcoal to draw out toxins from the pores along with other certified organic botanical ingredients such aloe, shea butter and sunflower seed oil, etc. to lovingly tend the skin.

This product also never mistreated our animal friends for testing.  Furthermore, this body wash has no parabens, laurel or laureth sulfate as well as artificial colors to compromise its healthier formulation.

The consistency of this body wash is more gel like that squeezes from a tube.  It lathers well without needing to use very much.

The #Purifying Exfoliating Gloves were especially nice to use with this body wash.  The feel of this fabric on the skin wasn’t as rough as a loofah when using, but provided more of a gentler exfoliation.  It was wonderful for smoothing the skin and stimulating circulation while the medical charcoal imbedded in the fabric helped to further pull out the toxins and impurities as I scrubbed.

When I emerged from the tub, I felt clean and more refreshed with softer skin.  I did like both of these products how they left the skin and gave a boost to improve circulation.  Anyone looking for new, more invigorating type of clean that can benefit the circulation should visit Earth Therapeutics and try the Pro-Organic Purifying Body Wash ($9.99) and Purifying Exfoliating Gloves ($7.99).  These also make great holiday stocking stuffer gifts for anyone on your list.

Why Older Complexions Need Exfoliation Even More Than Younger Ones!

beautiful woman with closed eyes.jpeg
Starting exfoliation earlier on, this beauty knows will keep her skin looking younger longer.

If you are a regular reader than you know how strongly I feel about the importance of exfoliation to improve a complexion.  After all, it is the only true way to clear out old cells and the last traces of makeup and grime that may still be lingering deep below the skin’s surface that could be dulling its natural luster.  At the same time, it is also the best anti-aging trick that you can do because once those old cells are loosened and begin to lift, the process activates other cells called fibroblasts to action to form collagen and hyaluronic acid to plump the wrinkles and add suppleness.

Naturally Shedding Skin Cells Slows Down the More We Age

No doubt, you’re probably aware of what I’m saying.  Yet, what you may not know is the older you get, the longer those cells remain to cloud complexions.  Think of it this way. Young skin has an easier time shedding skin cells at a rate of every 20 days on average.  Now compare that to older skin where this natural process greatly slows down and can take twice or three times as long for them to fall off!

Regardless of age, you don’t want to get overzealous with exfoliation, which you may accidentally do once you start noticing how beautiful your complexion becomes resurfacing.  The pores magically shrink, texture improves, skin brightens, and you’ll wait with bated breath as marks from acne, pimples to a small scar gradually start fading away.

Too Aggressive Exfoliation Can Hinder Skin Renewal

If you use a device like your Clarisonic and find the temptation of using the brush with its rotating heads set on the firmest setting more than once a day, then you’re not helping your skin.  Instead, you could be aggravating developing cells and risk damaging the complexion with your enthusiasm.  To be on the safe side, only use that brush once a day on the lowest setting instead and watch how much better your skin will respond.

You may also want to try a facial peel.  Be careful of too strong or frequent use of such a product or expect raw, red skin and possibly injuring your complexion.  Glycolic acid products or a mix of other alpha hydroxy acids  for at home typically are between 5 percent for the mildest peel to 15 for a more intense treatment.

My favorite happens to be a facial peeling pad. They are convenient and loaded with just what you need for beautifying.  Some companies insist that facial peel pads can be used daily without any harm to your skin.  I, however, do believe this is more beneficial to the company’s profits than overly stressing the skin.  Once or twice a week is all I subject my skin to.

Texture of the Exfoliant Matters Even More for Delicate, Older Skin

Scrubs and masks also help exfoliate dead skin cells.  However, be careful of the type of granules or the texture so not to rip up the skin.  Check my sidebar for DIY formulas under the homemade skin care recipes label for others like this excellent scrub.

Of all the expensive anti-aging products that you can buy, there is nothing better than can erase years off of your face than exfoliation.  You may not believe as adamantly as I do about the value of exfoliation, but I swear by it.  It comes first to help make those costly products actually penetrate deeper into the pores. Otherwise, the product just sits there unable to work its magic for you.

What I’m sharing is what I personally do.  I may only be an average looking woman; but trust me, I do have beautiful skin–-and so can you!  Follow my lead and you might not even need to wear primer under your foundation and still have great results by the perfect surface you’ll create.  Honestly, what I am saying is true.

Sensitive Skin? Exuviance Firm-NG6 Non-Acid Peel Review

**Disclaimer:  This post has been compensated through a free product (s) or monetary payment.  Opinions are solely mine. All links are "no-follow" links.**

Exuviance Firm-NG6 Non-Acid Peel.jpeg
If want to exfoliate but never had luck with acid peels, Exuviance's Firm-NG6 Non-Acid Peel is worth trying.

The quickest way to defy aging is by starting with exfoliation.  It is the key to get rid of old, dulling skin cells so that fresh ones can surface. However, I had never tried a non-acid peel before or the Exuviance brand until PR sent their Firm-NG6 Non-Acid Peel, which is geared to sensitive complexions like mine can be at times.

Unlike the individual peel pads that I had used, this peel is different that it is gentle enough to be used every day due to the non-acid ingredients of Exuviance’s patented non-acid NeoGlucosamine and aminofil.  I had been using my peel pads no more than once or twice a week to keep from overworking my skin.

The product is also delivered uniquely as well.  Once you pull off the cap, the product is dispensed by pressing downward over the top.  Doing so, brings the gel like substance to the surface.

I tried this peel for the first time the other day.  What I did was to spread a thin layer to my clean face and allowed it to remain on my skin for the recommended 10 minutes.  It did not burn or tingle, but my face felt slightly warm.

When I rinsed the product off, my complexion felt smoother with a hint of pink color.  At the same time, I didn’t notice that much change in texture.  Still, I am hopeful since this peel just may longer due to this special less irritating formulation.

I used this peel twice now since then.  Being a gentler peel, I found it just takes more time to see a more noticeable change.  Therefore, if you never could use a facial peel before because of sensitivity issues, then Euxviance’s Firm-NG6 Non-Acid Peel is worth looking into!

Your Skin-Must Have!--June Jacobs Intensive Age Defying Peel Pads Review

*Disclaimer:  This post has been compensated through a free product (s) or monetary payment.  Opinions are solely mine. All links are "no-follow" links.**

June Jacobs Intensive Age Defying Peel Pads.jpeg
To get the most out of exfoliation, you need a gentle but  an effective product that won't be too rough on skin.

Exfoliation is the key to maintaining beautiful skin that never seems to age.  Doing so, revives a dull complexion, removing dead cells clouding radiance and stimulating fresh new cells to surface.  The process also allows your skin care products to work harder for you so they can penetrate more deeply than just laying on top of your epidermis.

However, moderation and the product are just as important if you don’t want to sabotage what you’re trying to achieve by products or methods that can abuse the skin.  Therefore, I was curious how luxury spa brand, June Jacobs Intensive Age Defying Peel Pads would handle the challenge.

Are You Using the Right Type of Exfoliants to Best Safeguard Your Complexion?

woman's partial face.jpeg
This beauty now understands the value of  the best exfoliation methods.

Exfoliation is an important step toward the goal of beautiful skin.  The reason you should never neglect it is because when you don’t remove dead cells every so often, they accumulate on the surface to produce a dull complexion.  Shedding the old cells stimulates fresh skin to emerge for a younger, more radiant complexion. Still, if you don’t want to damage your skin, then you need to careful of the product but also how often that you exfoliate.

Aquareveal Water Peel Products for Face and Body Review + ($191) Giveaway! (4 Winners)–Ends December 11, 2015

Aquareveal Water Peel Products for Face and Body.jpeg
Aquareveal Water Peel Products for Face and Body

This is the time of year that our skin can lose moisture more easily to the point of dehydration.  When this happens, our complexion can suffer once those dull skin cells accumulate. The only way to solve this problem is to clear away the old cells through regular exfoliation to usher in smoother, new skin.

Though there are many methods of exfoliation, Korean brand, Aquareveal has a trio of water-based exfoliation products that are far gentler than any chemical peels, exfoliating scrubs with granules that often can scratch and dig into your skin with their uneven grains if worked too vigorously.  This line tackles getting rid of dead skin in the kindest fashion without parabens, sulfates, phthalates or synthetic fragrances. The line that PR sent for this review and giveaway consists of Satin Bright Soft Water Peel for Face, Smooth Talker Water Peel for Lips and Gentle Action Water Peel for Body.

Aquareveal Satin Bright Soft Water Peel for Face ($49) is infused with hyaluronic acid and botanicals in a thin, gel-like consistency.  My skin can be sensitive, but this product did not cause any irritation after applying some to my nearly dry, washed face.  Even after I gently massaged the product further into my skin, I didn’t experience excess redness.  In fact, I was starting to wonder how well this peel would work when I noticed some residue on my fingertips.  Once I rinsed, my skin was incredibly soft with a glow to it. The best part was that it didn’t feel like I did anything other than washing my face.

The Smooth Talker Water Peel for Lips ($26) is a product all women should have on hand, especially with those upcoming holiday parties and mistletoe that you might find yourself under.  This lip pen is what you need to keep those lips invitingly smooth and kissable.  All I did was to rub some on and massage, then rinse it off.  My lips felt so much softer.  My lipstick even looked nicer.

Aquareveal Gentle Action Water Peel for Body ($38) works basically in the same way.  I showed first and then after drying partially, I spread some over my backside and legs. Be sure to shave because this stuff will tug once you begin massaging.  After I was satisfied with my efforts, I stepped back into the shower and rinsed off.  Everything I touched after I dried felt so much softer.

What I really liked about all three Aquareveal products was they exfoliated without causing needless redness or irritation to improve my skin. My skin felt and looked softer and smoother from head to toe.

If you are tired of risking your skin to your standard exfoliation products like those chemical peels and rough grains, then you need to try Aquareveal.  Find these products at Birchbox or SpaceNK!

Thanks to Aquareveal, one winner will receive the grand prize of Aquareveal Satin Bright Soft Water Peel for Face, Smooth Talker Water Peel for Lips, and Gentle Action Water Peel for Body ($113 value).  In addition, three other winners will win a Smooth Talker Water Peel for Lips ($78 total value)!

A Great Skin Care Tip to Remember for Smoothing Extra Dry, Rough Hands to Get Even More Benefits Out of Your Hand Cream!

The colder the weather becomes, the more our hands usually suffer with extra dryness and flakiness.  As a result, we are constantly slathering on hand creams and lotions to help repair the damage.  However, if you want to do more to speed up that awful cycle for smoothing away the dryness, I have a tip you need to try.

L'Occitane hand creams.jpeg
This simple tip helps give you even better results from your favorite hand creams.
To make those healing hand products perform to the max, I suggest gently exfoliating your hands first to get rid of the dead skin that could be blocking the complete absorption of your chosen skin care just as you would do for your face.  After all, that dry skin is not doing you any good.  Instead, it is holding you from total healing and smoothness.

You don’t need anything fancy to exfoliate your hands.  What I use is a little sugar to olive oil mix to rub over the skin.  A teaspoon of sugar to another teaspoon of the olive oil works wonderfully for this purpose.

After you initially rub that oil and sugar over that rough skin of your hands, you don’t want to immediately rinse the mix off.  You want to keep this mix on your hands for at least 10 minutes-15 minutes before washing it off. This will give the olive oil enough time to properly moisturize as well as aid to plump up the skin with its antioxidants.

I hope that on those occasions when your hands are extra rough that you try this simple fix of mine because it does help smooth the skin so much more this way.

Discover the Beautiful Difference ViaBuff Facial and Body Buffs Can Make!

This is a sponsored post.
ViaBuff logo.jpeg
ViaBuff

We all know how important regular exfoliation is because without it our body lotions and anti-aging creams would just sit there on the top layer of the skin instead of penetrating deeper to do us the most good. However, I found a better way to exfoliate with ViaBuff Facial and Body Buffs that I had a chance to use.

ViaBuff Body Buffs.jpeg
ViaBuff Body Buffs

What excites me is that the open cell polyurethane foam material of these buffs makes them more sanitary, for a more hygienic experience, being antifungal, antibacterial and allergen free than what’s typically out there for this purpose.

Mesh nylon poufs, sponges, and loofahs with their porous construction can be a breeding ground for bacteria and mold, which can lead to skin infections if used improperly and not regularly replaced.  On the other hand, this company’s product offers a healthier method of cleansing and exfoliating wet skin that may have knicks or wounds with its superior resistance to disease-causing contaminants that may be harboring in those other forms, especially when you neglect thoroughly drying them in a cool place after every use and leave them hanging in your bathroom.

ViaBuff Facial Buffs.jpeg
ViaBuff Facial Buffs

Trying to keep those forms of buffs clean means frequent washing at least once a week.  Yet, you can’t toss that nylon pouf or loofah in your washing machine and expect to use them again like you can the ViaBuff, which can last up to 22 washes.

Another thing to love about ViaBuff is that you are in control of the strength of exfoliation that you want to use.  Think of what this means for your face first of all.  Exfoliating with rough cleansing grains can exfoliate and also cause micro-tears in your complexion, if using too much or too harsh a product.  Using a wash cloth might not be abrasive enough to remove the dirt or makeup that is deeply embedded.

I started with the moderate pink facial buff with some creamy goat milk cleanser and felt my complexion being exfoliated, but without any irritation or redness once I rinsed.  My skin was softer and glowed.

Customizing the levels of exfoliation whether for you face or your body is one that you will appreciate.  Since each of us have different skin concerns, ViaBuff addresses that need with four levels of exfoliation strength.

Level 1 (purple color)  is  extra gentle and recommended for those with sensitive, oily or acne-prone skin.

Level 2 (green color) is slightly more mildly abrasive and geared for normal or those with eczema.

Level 3 (pink color) is for moderate exfoliation and ideal for dry skin, ingrown hairs or those rough patches that can develop on arms or legs.

Level 4 (white color) is the most powerful way to remove dead skin that is intended for  those with very dry skin.

Those with combination skin can simply combine the levels they prefer such as 2 and 3, 3 and 4, 4 and 1, etc.

The pink and white ViaBuff that I sampled for my shower absorbed my shower gel well on the white side for lathering without needing to oversaturate it as I often need to do when using a bath sponge.  It also was abrasive enough to clean and stimulate circulation as it exfoliated.

I didn’t get a handle, which would have been great for doing hard to reach places like my back.  Good news though, ViaBuff has one that you can buy separately or packaged with their buffs.

Though this is a sponsored post written on the company's behalf, my opinion is my own honest one.  It was not necessary to provide it, but I really did like how both the Facial and Body Buffs performed for me as well. Do visit visit ViaBuff's website and shop because you will love these unique buffs.

Review: Dr. Brandt PoreDermabrasion

**Disclaimer:  This post has been compensated through a free product (s) or monetary payment.  Opinions are solely mine. All links are "no-follow" links.**
Dr. Brandt PoreDermabrasion.jpeg
Dr. Brandt PoreDermabrasion

I believe strongly in the benefits of regular exfoliation to encourage cell renewal for a better, glowing complexion.  Therefore, when iFabbo emailed about Dr. Brandt’s PoreDermabrasion, I thought why not see how this $58 pore perfecting exfoliator worked for this #iFabboMember.

According to the package, this product deeply cleans and refines the appearance of pores as it smooths skin texture through professional grade micro crystals and chemical exfoliator.

I followed the directions by damping my face first before applying a small amount of the Dr. Brandt #PoreDermabrasion.  I gently massaged the product on my face and away from my eyes for the recommended minute. Then, I gave it about two minutes as the box specified to activate the product’s ingredients before finally rinsing.

With my dry complexion, Dr. Brandt’s PoreDermabrasion left my skin feeling tight.  I did not experience redness or irritation, but I felt uncomfortable. Perhaps, those with normal to oily complexions would feel differently, but this is not a product for me.

However, if Dr. Brandt PoreDermabrasion sounds like something that could benefit your complexion, this product ships free so use this link and share.  You can also earn X2 loyalty points with that purchase.  In fact, if you share with friends and they return to dr.brandskincare.com, you can both save up to $10 on your next purchase when you click here.

For a Baby-Soft Bod, You Need to Try My Super Softener Body Exfoliator Recipe!

Smiling baby.jpeg
This little one has every reason to smile with that beautiful skin and adorable face.

As babies, all of us are born with the ultimate in fresh, soft skin. Sadly though, this beauty changes the more we experience the world and age.  Regardless of what is a natural part of life, there is still a way to make your body feeling as ultimately soft as a newborn through this great nourishing DIY skin care exfoliator that I have for you today.

My recipe involves two steps–-the exfoliation itself followed by feeding the skin before finally rinsing the ingredients off.  It may sound like extra work, but consider it your spa day since you’re in store for beautiful skin.

What you’ll need to accomplish this doesn’t call for any fancy, expensive ingredients, but things that you probably have in your refrigerator or pantry right now.  If not, then put a container of plain yogurt, olive oil, honey, and plain sugar on your grocery store list because these are what you’ll need.

The sugar crystals will help with the rougher exfoliation of dead skin cells.  Check the sugar because you are better off using one with a finer grain over a coarser crystal.

The lactic acid in the yoghurt will also help speed along exfoliation since it is an alpha hydroxy acid that can help slough off dead skin cells for improved skin texture.  This ingredient, which you’ll also be using to feed the skin is also wonderful for holding in its moisture.

Both olive oil and honey are humectants, which have the capability of helping the skin retain moisture and smoothing.  The olive oil is packaged with antioxidant power from vitamin E, plyphenols and phytosterols. Honey is a rich source of amino acids, peptide and vitamins while it also has antimicrobial properties for healing the epidermis as well.

My Super Softener Body Exfoliator

1 cup of sugar
2 tablespoons of plain yogurt + 3 tablespoons for the final skin nourishing follow-up
2 tablespoons of honey
1/4 cup of olive oil

Combine the ingredients and then proceed to your bathroom.  If you have a body mitt, you might want to use it or you can just apply the mixture once you take a shower with your fingers.

Apply to your clean, moistened skin using circular motions when you start exfoliating, working toward your heart.

When you finish massaging the exfoliator in, then rinse and massage in the remaining three tablespoons of plain yogurt and then rinse.

You won’t believe the petal softness that your skin has once you step out of that shower.

Try to moisturize the still damp skin within five minutes after you emerge for the ultimate baby soft skin.

A Sure Bet to Brighten Up Your Complexion--NEW Korres Wild Rose Vitamin C Petal Peel (Review)

**Disclaimer:  This post has been compensated through a free product (s) or monetary payment.  Opinions are solely mine. All links are "no-follow" links.**
Korres Wild Rose Vitamin C Petal Peel closed box.jpeg
Korres Wild Rose Vitamin C Petal Peel

With all the cosmetics we subject our skin to, I have always made it a point to exfoliate occasionally with a facial peel to help save my complexion from dullness of what may still be lingering in my pores.

As I shared with you earlier, I had a bad experience with a facial peel that left me with a small scar a while back.  Some products that I tried helped somewhat, but I am still trying to gently buff it away. When I heard that Korres had a new two-step brightening and resurfacing system with this Wild Rose Vitamin C Petal Peel, I was more than curious as you can imagine.

What you have in this System with Step One is the Wild Rose Activating Peel Gel.  When I tried it for the first time on Sunday afternoon, I pumped a bit of that gel out and applied to my freshly washed face before allowing it to dry.  I am now more than cautious of any facial peels and kept checking my face in the mirror for any signs of red, but this was gentle and did not give my sensitive complexion any signs of pink or discomfort.

Korres Wild Rose Vitamin C Petal Peel, unpackaged.jpeg
Take a look at  Korres Wild Rose Vitamin C Petal Peel and both the products involved in both steps.

After it dried was when I took out the Step Two with their Wild Rose Brightening and Resurfacing Peel Mask. This is a pink, rose-scented cream that you layer over top the Step 1 of the Peel Gel and keep on from three to 10 minutes.

Standing in front of my mirror with handy view of my clock, I checked both my face and time after three minutes.  When both looked fine, I gave the product longer and kept doing that until the maximum time of ten minutes had passed without any problems.

After I rinsed the mask away, I can’t say it helped with that  remaining bit of that small scar, but it was wonderful for what else it did for my complexion.  It really did brighten and tone the pores remarkably well to bring about an incredible peachy glow without any signs of red to my fair to light olive complexion.

Since the box suggests you can use it twice in one week, I thought it was gentle enough and tried it again this morning.  This time I gave myself a slightly thicker coat instead of the more timid way that I started out during my first time using the product.

What I can tell is that this stuff may not radically change the surface of your complexion, but it definitely improves radiance, smoothness, and manages to shrink visible pores in a beautiful way without harshness.

Find the Wild Rose Vitamin C Petal Peel ($64) at Korres.  Check it out because I know that you’ll love this.

L'Occitane's Almond Smooth Collection

If you’re still debating on what you should gift your mother with for Mother’s Day, then let me make a suggestion.  One of my all-time favorite body care lines is L’Occitane en Provence’s Almond Collection. These plant-based products lovingly nourish the skin with a lasting silky veil of fragrant moisture that has a powdery sweetness that is intensely beautiful in how it clings and tends to the skin.

The award-winning Almond Shower Oil is a delightful way to cleanse and hydrate with its almond and grape seed oils for benefits to the skin.  Use it in place of your shower gel for a luxurious bathing experience.  I love how this stuff doesn’t leave any greasy film behind only an intoxicating scented foam.  It is wonderful to use for shaving your legs with.

Their Almond Milk Concentrate is another award-winning product–-and rightly so for how this luscious scented cream melts into the skin and provides such a smooth and silky texture to your body.  With its powerful almond derivatives and walnut seed, this rich product seems to amplify that moisturizing I received from the Almond Shower Oil.
L'Occitane's Almond Shower Collection opened.jpeg
The Almond Smooth Collection from L'Occitane is valued at $104.50 but can now be had for $72!

The Almond Delicious Hands is one that any pair of hands would appreciate.  This awesome smelling cream is non-greasy and effective for improving the condition of hands.  You can even type without worrying that you will dirty the keys.

The Almond Delicious Paste is another gentle product that any woman would love to exfoliate her body with. This is the perfect compliment for spending time in the bath with the Almond Shower Gel.

Each Almond product that I’ve tried has been exceptional in its mix of almond oil and/or milk and almond extracts among its ingredients for what it did for superbly smoothing and softening the body while scenting the skin.

If you haven’t tried any Almond products, now is the perfect time for you and your mother to experience its wonders since the company has a great deal right now.  L’Occitane is offering a gift set of four of the products–-Almond Shower Gel (16.9 oz.), Almond Cream Concentrate (3.5 oz.), Almond Delicious Hands (1 oz.), and the Almond Delicious Paste (1.7 oz.) valued at $104.50 for just $72 in this Almond Smooth Collection!

My Monthly Complexion Revival Facial Mask Deep Cleans and Encourages Cell Renewal

spoonful of honey.jpeg
Honey has amazing properties when it comes to skin.

This facial mask is one I use monthly for a thorough deep cleaning to unclog what still may remain trapped in my pores from makeup and products as well as providing a healthy renewal to the complexion with all the protein, a storehouse of B vitamins, and minerals from brewer’s yeast and plain yogurt. At the same time, it heals and gently moisturizes the skin in a beautiful way from honey.  It will not take your wrinkles away, but it does brighten and give the face somewhat of a lift.

As you know, I have shared my other homemade skin care recipes with you because I believe firmly in the power of natural ingredients when it comes to seeing complexion results.  This is another recipe that is simple but quite effective for improving the look of your skin.  I do hope you try it because it does not disappoint!

Look in my right sidebar in the labels section and scroll down to homemade skin care recipes.  There you will find other wonderful recipes that I have tried that have done nice things for my skin–and they will do the same for you, too.

My Monthly Complexion Revival Facial Mask

1-1/2 teaspoons of powdered brewer’s yeast
1 tablespoon of plain yogurt
½ teaspoon of honey

Mix the three ingredients together and apply to your clean face and neck.

You will want to go stretch out and get comfortable on your bed because you want to keep this mask on for about 25-30 minutes.  After all, you deserve a break and some “me” time to energize.

When the time is up, rinse the mask off with tepid and then cool water before drying.

This mask will not only make your face bloom with new vitality but also make you smile because your skin will look amazing.

You’ll LOVE This Dermatologist Recommended Way to Gently Exfoliate But Deep Clean!

Baking Soda.jpeg
Baking soda can make a beautiful difference in how you exfoliate.

Longwearing foundations and skin care products with silicone-based ingredients can take a toll on our complexion if not properly removed.  They can embed themselves so deeply into your pores even after cleansing.  Therefore, if you don’t want those ingredients to linger and eventually break down a bit of your own skin’s collagen, then you need to exfoliate weekly.

In fact, you definitely need to try this simple fix.  Mix one half teaspoon of baking soda and one half teaspoon of a water-based cleanser as well as a little warm water together to clean your face with.

Facial peels are also very helpful when used with care.  Just remember, it is important not to let yourself get carried away and overdo.

How to Prepare for a Facial to Get Better Complexion Results

woman-getting-facial.jpeg
This post will make your facial work harder.

You may believe washing your face first with a mild soap or a gentle cleanser is enough to get your skin ready for a facial, but it is just the first step. If you intend to harvest the most beauty power out of that treatment, you need to do a bit more first to prepare the skin. Afterwards, you will be surprised at the difference in your complexion in how your skin responds to those beneficial ingredients.

Just as important to that initial cleansing, you have to follow up with an astringent or your toner. This will additionally clean any remaining soap, cleansing residue, or dead skin that had lingered.

Now is the time that your skin is ready to receive the nourishment from your facial mask.  Depending on your complexion issues, there are a variety of wonderful facial masks among my homemade skin care recipes that you may want to try or select the commercial product of your choice.

After you apply the mask, you need to relax with it on for about a half hour.  This bit of “me time” can help smooth the lines caused by tense muscles and revive the face along with the wonders of the ingredients.

The water temperature of how you rinse your facial mask off is also crucial.  Be sure to use tepid water only because you want to keep your pores open.  Hot water will strip the skin of too much of your remaining natural oil while cold will close the pores.  Keep this in mind.

At this stage, your clean face is ready to receive even deeper cleaning of your pores with steam.  You don’t need any fancy equipment.  All it takes for this home treatment is a pot with boiling water, a towel to tent over that pot, and the right herb to help what your complexion needs.  For example, rosemary is wonderful to steam a dry face with.  On the other hand, chamomile is better for those with normal skin.  Those with oily skin might find peppermint useful.

Other than seeking out the services of a professional, your pores are as clean as you can get them at home.  However, you need to close them the proper way.  Start by rinsing your face with warm water (not hot) and gradually change over to splashing with cold water.

The final step is remembering to moisturize and allowing the product time to soak in.

Afterwards, you will see a great complexion and feel better about your appearance than before.

Reviva Labs Three-Step Layering System

In order to have the most beautiful, youthful complexion possible, you need to resurface the skin and get rid of dead cells first.  Reviva Labs’s three-step layering system of Collagen Serum, 5% Glycolic Acid Night/Day Cream, and the Nasolabial Fold +Multi-Peptide Cream that I was sent for this review/giveaway are a good place to start.

Over the time that I have been using those products for gently exfoliating while gradually regenerating the complexion with the nourishing elements it needs, I have watched my skin flourish.  How I began to accomplish this feat was simple.  I started with their Collagen Serum #307 after each cleansing mornings and nights.

The next step was giving myself a patch test with a small amount of 5% Glycolic Acid Night/Day Cream #381 on my inner arm first to determine how sensitive I might be to the product I was about to follow with.  It did tingle slightly, but it wasn’t anything that bothersome that I would need to take it off.

In fact, my face must have gotten used to that Glycolic Acid Cream because I didn’t notice it after awhile or then again it might have been soothed from the Nasolabial Fold + Multi-Peptide Cream #402 that I applied next.  This cream was specifically formulated to help plump up the fat pad at the sides of your cheeks, which drop more as we age.  I don’t know the exact science of how this cream’s abundance of various peptides to stimulate collagen synthesis gets activated or sets off this layering system, but I can tell you my complexion was smoother by the end of the first week.

Like I hawk, I kept a sharp eye on those two deeper lines that I have on the sides of my nose to mouth. However, I didn’t see too much get excited over until several weeks later.  At first, I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me.  I even had to do a double take before getting second opinions because those two deep lines looked more filled in.  Nothing in a jar is going to erase all time from your face completely, but this certainly gives the face a lift!

I am more than pleased with Reviva Lab’s three-step layering system, regardless of how long that beautiful improvement lasts since my skin feels so remarkably soft and dewy as well.  Do try these products because you will like them.

Revive Your Complexion With My Milk Exfoliant Recipe

hands-washing-with-milk.jpeg
Milk can do wonders for the skin.

Something nice you can do for your face today is to try this homemade recipe for my milk exfoliant. It is so simple to make with only three ingredients, but it will do wonders for your freshly washed complexion and its texture.

The combination of milk, which is loaded with lactic acid, an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) and lemon juice, another AHA, makes this beneficial exfoliant work harder to gently remove dead skin cells and encourage healthy new cells to emerge.  Try it yourself to see how beautifully your complexion will respond.

My Milk Exfoliant Recipe

1-1/2  tablespoons powdered milk
1-1/2 teaspoons of lemon juice (fresh is best)
3/4 teaspoon of warm water

Mix the ingredients together until you have a paste like consistency that is spreadable.

Apply to your face and start rubbing, but avoid the eye area.

Keep the exfoliant on for about a minute before you should rinse it off with cool water.
